Has your SR MBP shipped yet?

well if I dont get it by friday then I hope its late so I get a discount.

mine is custum ordered, however I really could use it saturday so I bought the faster shipping but if it doesn't come by then, then I have no problems waiting.
 
I just talked to apple and upgraded my shipping too. New arrival date is supposed to be on the 9th. It would be great to get it by this weekend.

Wait a second... does fedex even do Saturdays?
 
Shipping in July????

I recently ordered my SR MBP 15" on June 5th (day it came out) at around 6:00pm PST. It says that it will ship on July 18 and will arrive by July 24????? This is my first Mac purchase so I'm a bit confused. The only customization I have on it is the 160gb hard drive at 7200rpm.....

I hope it really doesn't ship until then. I can't wait to get it..

It seems that some of those who ordered later in the day like you did have to wait an additional 4-6 weeks due to the lack of 7200rpm/160g hard drives.

Sadly in this case, this is the only time delaying option. I really want to order one, but right now if I choose the 7200rpm drive, it says shipping in 4-6 weeks...you are lucky it's only about 2 weeks for you.

actually i'm where you are 4-6 weeks as well. it says July not June... :(

i wish it was 2 weeks
 
same deal here... 15 inch with the 7200 RPM HD ... 4 - 6 weeks.

I'm sorely tempted to just change the order to the 5400 and the change the hard drive myself... warranties are for losers, anyway.
 
15.4" 2.4 with the 200GB hard drive and a 30" cinema display. Oh, and a spare battery.

Naturally, the spare battery ships tomorrow :D . The rest won't be here until as late as June 25. Gah.
 
Mine's shipped, not sure where from yet tho. Guess it's be-nice-to-kiwis day in Stevesville. :D
 
Ok, I've got some answers to some shipping questions.

I just talked to Apple about my order, which is the 17" MBP with High-Res Screen and 7200 RPM Drive. I ordered right after the Apple Store came back online, so I still get the 1-3 day shipping for the faster drive. I called to ask if it had shipped yet because my credit card was charged today, but they said no. I guess there is no correlation between when they charge your card and when it actually ships.

Apparently it will ship on June 8, which is Friday. So I asked about overnight shipping, and she said first of all that there is no Saturday delivery, and second that 2 day shipping is the fastest they can do anyway because it is has to come from overseas.

So it sounds like Tuesday, June 12 is the soonest any BTO MBPs will arrive.

Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.
 
I stopped in to Microcenter (Chicago) yesterday to see if they had the one I wanted and they did. Unfortunately, I was spending money all day for my house and my debit card had a $3,000 max/day restriction. I had them hold it and I picked it up today.

High end MBP 15" with standard hardware configurations. This thing is FAST and BEUTIFUL! Quite a change from my 1.2Ghz G4 iBook. It took less than 2 minutes to import my iTunes library through USB 2.0 external HD which is 1.37Gig.
 
It seems rediculous to me that one of the more generic parts (7200 rpm hd) is making a 4-6 week. I mean, they can handle the LED screens, custom GPU...but they can't get enough hard drives? Seems like such a long time. If I could have it in even say 2 weeks, I think I would order, but this makes me question...I think the waiting game for that long would kill me.
 
As of right now, my tracking only says "Package data transmitted to FedEx". I feel sure it's already on a plane, the tracking just hasn't updated yet. If it isn't on a plane, then I guess I won't get it until Monday... :(

I called Apple and asked their sales rep about the delay on the 7200 RPM drive, and the response I got was that the 4 - 6 week lag is a conservative estimate... they might be ready to ship much sooner... or they might take the full month and a half. I'd be willing to bet that they'll get more of the drives and we'll get the machines well before the projected end of July. And by "I'd be willing to bet" I mean "I am desperately wishing."

When I ordered mine the 4-6 week thing never showed up. it still said 1-3 days. Mine has not shipped yet

Ahh, I see. My iPod also arrived today... Well, however long it takes us to get our machines, one thing is for sure...they should be well worth the wait. Well, at least I hope they are...
