i wonder why the shipping times are so different? someone said earlier in the thread that they've waited over a month...but mine and others' MBPs have been rather speedy...
neonenergy what shipping method did you use? Mine is exactly 24 and one half hours later then yours and fed ex is predicting that delivery will not happen until tuesday the 14th. I hope to get mine tomorrow. I only did standard free shipping.
I had the normal free shipping, and i ordered on July 26th...
The delivery method that shows up on my fedex tracking is 'IP Direct Distribution'
Then again, I bought from the developer store, so that might make the difference.
I think it's a real possibility, because so many shipped on the 7th and 8th. And mine went to "prepared for shipping" right after the announement when it had just sat on "not shipped yet" since the 26th.
yeah i was explaining to a friend (and convincing myself at the same time) that apple had to produce machines with iLife08 in the weeks before the launch date...they wouldn't wait until the 7th to start loading ilife08 onto the new ones...so they were ready to roll out the updated computers but were just waiting for the official launch...yup, i've convinced myself...we'll see if i'm right tomorrow, hopefully
Lets hope so! I've been waiting a few weeks (shipping to South Africa) and i'm really hoping it comes with the new iLife '08! Here's hoping
Please post if you receive a machine ordered before the iLife '08 announcement - which iLife did it come with?
I just received my MBP which shipped yesterday and i can CONFIRM that it doesn't have iLife '08 installed but includes the ilife '08 Installation DVD!
Hopefully this will bring some of you to rest!

That is good to hear. As of 25 minutes ago mine was in anchorage.
Neonenergy, just curious what was your estimated deliv date from fedex? If mine is anything like yours I should get it tomorrow not fedex's projected date of next tues (apples earliest estimate is tomorrow). Thanks.
Our MBPs are traveling together, mine arrived in Anchorage at the same time. My projected date from Fedex is the same, next Tuesday, but I'm in Canada, so I figured it's because of customs. I did order the faster shipping though.
My estimated date of delivery was the 13th, next Monday. I guess Apple called in and told them to air freight all of our macbooks

This was a little annoying to see. It was in transit all day until it finally left at 6:08. I wonder if this means they're delivering straight to my local Fedex center. I could see that being the case, waiting to make sure they had everything that would be going to Chattanooga. If it was going to Memphis or Nashville, I bet it would have left earlier. This may not be a bad thing if this is what happened.

wait, what? maybe it's early or I don't know how it works. You work at apple or fedex? Does Apple have people at fedex? If one of them was sent to Nashville it was probably mine.

That's cool about iLife 08! Suck about the stuck pixel. Have you tried anything like this: http://www.jscreenfix.com/basic.php ? Or did you just send it back? Anyone that's received theirs, have you had any other problems? yellow screens, kernel panics etc?

I went on flight tracker and saw that a plane left shanghai at 9:03 PM for anchorage... called FedEx to see if it was on the plane, but they said it the package was received after the cutoff.
I noticed several people had that on this post... but their package was on a plane the same day anyway... anyone know my chances of it shipping?

Holy Crap! They tried to deliver it today but I was at work. I almost called in to work today thinking it might come in the late afternoon. But decided not to because I checked it this morning and it said at Nashville facility. I didn't know it had even left there. They missed my wife by about 10-15 mins.

It sucks, but hey I'm getting a 2.4 MBP!
I was told they don't deliver on Saturday by someone at work. I called them and asked when I could go over to Fedex and pick it up. After 3 and before 8.
I forgot to ask if they delivered on Saturday. I just plan on picking it up today, hopefully if all goes well.
Mine left china yesterday and I got it this morning! I ordered on the 7/30. It prepared to ship on 8/8 and left on 8/9. It came with the smaller adapter (i think, it's slightly bigger then my powerbook adapter) and it came with ilife 08 pre installed.
Awesome! That was crazy fast. I ordered mine on the 26th.
Any issues with it? yellow screen, kernel panics, stuck pixels?
