Just wait for it to ship and have it held at UPS once it's shipped.
Will UPS hold it for more than a few days? If it actually ships on the 17th, I could not pick it up until the 30th... Somehow I thought a long period like that was not possible...

My husband and I ordered at 3:10am our time. His order went though 2 minutes before mine did and our original delivery date was Nov. 10-17 and mine was pushed further to Nov. 17-24th. His order changed and is now to be delivered Nov. 3rd while mine never changed from the initial Nov.17-24 date. I was super bummed his order got moved up while mine stayed the same, so he told me to take his iPhone Friday because he knows it means a lot more to me than it does to him and he'd wait for my order to come. Mind you, our orders were 2 minutes apart.Omg I know. I dont want to carry this phone naked, its too expensive to fix if the back glass is cracked.
Youre getting your phone Friday? Was that your original preorder date or are you lining up?

They will hold it for one week. At least that's what it says at my customer center.
Try and see if you can divert it to your local Apple store. Where they can hold it for you. Or may be ups can hold it for you ??Sigh, will be traveling for the entire current ship window (11/17-24). Moving locations multiple times during that week. Just 'chatted' with Apple, and the only answer was 'have a neighbor sign for it', which will not work... Can't redirect it to a location without knowing the date. My only option at this point may be to cancel and reorder, when I can control the ship to location or be home when it arrives. Wish they were a bit more flexible.... But it is what it is....
Still hoping for an earlier date, or one of our neighbors to cancel their trip!![]()

I just spoke to Ladarius at 1-800-my-apple, about people like me who had reservations given to them within 10 minutes of pre-orders opening, which said a phone was being held for them, but then got bumped from 11/3 pickup to 2-6 week later delivery dates.
I told him I saw that many people were calling Apple about their reservation time and phone ETA at the time of reservation, and then getting their delivery date moved to 11/3 or getting Air Pods or Wireless chargers as compensation, and he says it is not true.
He said "they are lying" and "you can't trust everything you read online". I said, "what, multiple people posted that they got bumped up or got swag just to get a rise out of people?” and he said yes and and that I can quote him. He can't do anything for me.
What a dumba## - either his superiors are lying to him, or he is a very good liar when he says that he nor anyone he knows has the authority to do those things. His supervisor is going to call me in 24-48 hours. I don't expect a call.
But just in case, If the people who had trouble ordering, and got a later delivery date than promised at the time of order, posted that they were moved to 11/3 based on the phone call (a redacted email for example) or were promised rewards for their trouble could post proof that this really happened, I would appreciate having the ammo to fight back with when/if I get called.
In my case, the store finally opened in the iPhone App at 1:03AM mtn time, and I got multiple errors while trying to pay full price for a 256GB ATT phone after I got to the "enter phone number" step, where I screenshot one of the errors at 1:07AM, before getting a screenshot of my reservation at 1:12AM.
The reservation clearly said they were holding a phone for me at 1:12AM and yet many people who ordered after me posted that they were bumped up to 11/3 or got a reward for their delay, after they called.
No differences whatsoever. 256GB T-Mo Silver paid in full. Literally our orders were 2 min apart. Can you believe it? Only difference was our browser. I used safari and he used firefox. And there were no financing, carrier, or storage differences?
Well then none of them are on the same page. I was told by my Apple Advisor that they cannot do anything about bumping orders, and neither can Senior Advisors. I guess maybe you got a Senior Advisors manager who I could assume get you bumped. I do not know, maybe Senior Advisors can and I was just given false information.

I don't buy any of these stories from people who are saying they had an estimate of 17-24 and now they've gotten bumped to 11/3, for anyone who is currently part of the IUP and went through pre-approval prior to the pre-order, and ordered via the Apple Store app. After getting blown off by a Senior Apple Advisor, I personally emailed Tim Cook a lengthy email after I ordered my iPhone X with a promised Nov. 3rd date, only to find out the next morning I too was bumped to the 17th-24th. I received a phone call from an Austin, TX number, less than two hours later from Ms Aitmeddour, who is an Executive for the Apple Online store and an assistant to Tim Cook. She told me that Mr. Cook asked her to contact me, to let me know that they are doing everything they possibly can to get my iPhone X delivered sooner than the 17-24 window. I've spoken to her twice now, and so far, the only change in my delivery date is that it is now 11/16-11-24. She said she cannot guarantee a Nov. 3rd date. As I was typing this, she just called (a third time) to let me know about the one day bump from 11/17 to 11/16. People make things up because in their sick mind, it's fun to mess with people who are upset about being wronged by Apple. If you were quoted 11/17-11/24 with the conditions I mentioned above, I guarantee you are not getting your iPhone X on launch day, period. I am also not getting my iPhone X on Nov. 3rd, even though that was the date I was promised at check out. To all of you who will receive youriPhone on launch day, good for you, I am truly happy for you![]()
My senior advisor literally changed it and I saw the change right away on my order.
What happens after one week? They will hold it for one week. At least that's what it says at my customer center.
Well guess what, you don’t have to believe me and I really could care less. I don’t have to prove it to you. I’m getting my phone 11/3. Thank you. You're lying, flat out. Sorry to be the one to call you out, but I just did.
No one was “wronged by apple” here. I want my phone asap, just like everyone else here, but apple can’t magically make an infinite supply overnight. It takes time to make 10s of millions of incredibly complex devices. Apple and every other company on earth wants to sell you their product now, but things take time.
There is always Ebay/amazon/craigslist for those that don’t mind paying extra and just want the iPhone right away.
Well guess what I don’t have to prove it to you. I’m getting my phone 11/3. Thank you.
Yes I’m lying... lying all the way to a 11/3 launch day delivery. yayyyyyyyyThe Apple Store App said Nov. 3rd delivery at checkout, when I paid with Apple Pay. The next morning, the confirmation email shows Nov 17-24th, that IS being wronged by Apple. I'm not the only one this happened to either.

You can't prove it to any of us...because it didn't happen. But have fun lying to people![]()
