Have any 11/17-11/24 shipments been bumped?

Just walked in ATT and bought the 256 Silver.
I was out and thought I would stop by and just look at the display model. There was an associate posted at the door asking what I needed. Ask whether they had any iPhone X in stock, she said yes. She ask if I wanted a place in line. Literally there were 2 people ahead of me! And neither were buying the X! In and out in about 20 minutes with Silver 256! The store manager had several tags left to reserve for other buyers that showed up after me.
I could have used that sleep last Friday!

Guys my order is still in Korea, won’t get it until 11/6. Already got charged. I’m in IUP.

So - if I want to go into the store today or sometime this weekend, what should I do with the IUP one that’s coming?

I think you would have to return the IUP preorder once it arrives, buy a new one in-full today, and continue paying monthly for your current iPhone, no?

Okay that’s what u I thought, which is really suboptimal. I don’t want to keep paying for my current phone and don’t want to pay in full for the new phone... guess I will just keep waiting!

I would wait, especially if is has shipped already. The hassle that would ensue is not worth it if you asked me.

Potential good news for folks (like me) still in OIP limbo.

Called my local VZW reseller and they said they had some in stock. Went to go get one through them and then cancel my Apple order through IUP. When she started the process, she noticed that the line I was going to upgrade was showing as locked because I did a preorder. She called Verizon and the rep said it was locked because my preordered device had been moved to being shipped. She said it looked as if it had been shipped today. She said if it was shipped today, I would receive it on 11/6 or 11/7.

My order status on Apple Store is still showing Order in Progress - Delivery date 11/17-11/24.

Hopefully they're just slow in updating order status.

Thats what apple told me as well... I assume you have not been charged as well?

I'm thinking that will all of our millions of X's being prepped and shipped for us, the manufacturer's, Apple's, and the shipping carrier's systems just don't synchronize quickly enough together as things change to give us real-time notification/status updates. As the systems catch up and synch, I'm betting many of us in this 11/17-24 boat will suddenly get updates that the phones have shipped. I remember when the 7 came out, there were some issues with UPS' systems not showing the correct tracking information at first.

Could have gotten it today but I just realized that Apple used Express Saver shipping option for my phone. Everyone else’s is first class UPS no? Do they think that by bumping up my delivery date to Nov 6th is good enough so it’s okay to save on the shipping cost?

So I cancelled. EFF APPLE... Ordering experience to be specific...

I took my chances... went to the mall and got there around 7:30 AM, about 100 ppl ahead of me. They came around taking reservations, and I got a spot.. Doors opened at 8am, we were in for a long wait.

In the corner of my Eye, I saw a store opening its doors as well... it was AT&T.. Told the fella in line next to me, you'll remember me if I come back, right, he said off course..

I didn't come back

ATT took care of me... They waived any upgrade/activation fees as courtesy, They gave me an iPhone 8 Plus virtually free (had to open a new line, but gave me a credit for the life of loan to offset the additional line charges), anddddd $100 applied ontop of all that, because I chose to buy the phone with them instead of Apple..

PS - I had to buy it on NEXT (thats how ATT gets commission from APPLE) but can pay it all off after 30 days. Exact same price, nothing additional, no Gotchas

Lmao add in the credit hit to open a new line (basically doing the apple IUP) or even lining up early in the AM with 100 people in line. I think most of us who paid in full are in the same situation as you (with 17-24 dates).

Keeping fingers crossed for date changes over the weekend, would be disappointed if not! I admit it's a little annoying to see thousands of people walk into stores and out with new phones who didn't pre-order. (Or others who are rewarded with bumped shipping for going on a payment plan vs. pay in full.)

You do not accept it from UPS and they put a return label on it saying that you did not accept and it gets sent back to Apple. No charges, as far as I know. It is easy.

I can say after this mess, I don’t even see the point of pre ordering, they made it sound like supplies were way down for this phone. The 7plus didn’t hit carrier stores in my area for weeks, every att store near me has the X in stock. What a joke.

Just walked to another Verizon store - fully stocked and no line...we all got played lol.

There was zero chance of me lining up at an Apple store overnight. But it does sting to hear that you can just walk into third party retailers and get an X on launch day when we all lost sleep to get our pre-orders in on 10/27. Seriously though, we will have all forgotten about this by December so it’s no biggie in the long run.
