I can say after this mess, I don’t even see the point of pre ordering, they made it sound like supplies were way down for this phone. The 7plus didn’t hit carrier stores in my area for weeks, every att store near me has the X in stock. What a joke.

Wait so people who were complaining about low stocks are complaining about sufficient stock? man.....

Is your credit card showing any charge yet?

I'm curious about this too. I ordered mine as soon as the pre-order opened and the Apple Store app stopped misbehaving. at about 3:08am (12:08 PT) I was already done with my order since I am IUP. got the initial delivery date for nov 17-24 which was crazy for when I ordered. Couple days ago got bumped for the 16th-24th. I just chatted with apple and they said my order still says in progress. They might have access to the same Apple Store page I have . I haven't got charged either, but I'm really hoping to get bumped. Maybe has something to with location? I don't know. When I order my iPhone 7Plus last year it got bumped 3 weeks prior to the original date. Oh well...

Nothing on my 17-24 no cc, no bumped up, no preparing for shipping... nope just stuck in order in progress for a week now.

Maybe mine will stick to the date - maybe even 24th - it’s really frustrating watching it frozen with no change for all this time
I'm on the same limbo! :(

So I went to target and they have plenty in stock. Was all ready to cancel my Apple order which hasn’t changed and then guy told me I can’t pay in full. Have to buy under one of the payment plans. So the wait continues.

Because the IUP is not nearly as good as AT&T NEXT, that's why. There is no hard credit pull, there is no half-assed trade-in experience. AT&T NEXT has been around longer and far more mature of an upgrade program than Apple's own. I see they've finally gotten their act together this year not requiring you to bring it to a store to trade-in (what a concept). Besides, those of us using AT&T already for the last several years are in no position to switch to IUP for zero added benefit.
Can you bundle apple care with the monthly payments though?

I was at 17-24 ship date, paid in full, with no movement. I said **** it and called a Verizon authorized dealer here in NYC and they had plenty in stock. Cancelled my pre-order and I have it now. Sorry for those that are stuck but might be worth seeing if any stores are in stock near you.

Good luck everyone!

Watching this thread has been interesting - lots of conspiracy theories. Threats about going android because they did'n't get preferential treatment to fix a wrong with the late launching app. ...concerned about breaking a launch day track record.

I online ordered and picked up cases at an Apple store. The X line was long but someone I knew near the end that didn't preorder said she was told they would have enough. I heard the line started at 4am.

I'm content waiting with the rest of you in this group. I appreciate the difficulty in logistics for a launch this big. I don't feel cheated because my app came up late. I am thankful for things that matter - even the fact that I can get a new phone when so many can't. I'm having fun hypothesizing when my 17-24 will ship and why my 16-24 that shipped is visiting a long time in South Korea.
And I'm still trying to figure out the 1 cent Apple charge that showed up today.

There was zero chance of me lining up at an Apple store overnight. But it does sting to hear that you can just walk into third party retailers and get an X on launch day when we all lost sleep to get our pre-orders in on 10/27. Seriously though, we will have all forgotten about this by December so it’s no biggie in the long run.

I will be remembering this next year, I promise you. I waltzed in and bought the iPhone X I wanted about an hour ago, in less than 20 minutes, no line or any waiting. I will be doing the same next year. I'm not falling for their supply shortage BS again. *Written on my iPhone X ;)

You do not accept it from UPS and they put a return label on it saying that you did not accept and it gets sent back to Apple. No charges, as far as I know. It is easy.

:apple:

Totally, but you're still not re-approved for upgrade under the terms of the program I believe. So then you have to buy a new X, and continue paying for your current.

Stores sometimes charge 1 cent to verify the credit card, so they can charge the rest of the amount. Did you pay the phone in full?

Ok so here is my sob story. I woke up late on 10/27. Didn't place my order till 2:20 CST. I got a deliver range of 11/17-11/24. That's fine. whatever. The dates usually get bumped up so I was expecting mid next week ish. Then my dates got changed to 11/16-11/24. I have been furiously following this thread and watching as other people get delivery dates for launch day and early next week. I'm patient, I know it is my fault for sleeping through my alarm. Then today my credit card company calls and tells me that there my card number was compromised in a data breach and they are immediately canceling the card. This is the card I used for my IUP Citizens One Loan. So I chat with Apple. They tell me it's an easy fix, call 1-800-MY-APPLE. I do that and spend 30 minutes on the phone with what I assume was a first day employee. He said someone from the executive support team would have to call me back to change the CC info for the IUP loan. She called me back 30 minutes later and made the change no problem. The CC info is even showing up correctly on apple.com. I know I should feel like I am home free, but I still feel like my iPhone X will not get charged correctly and therefore not ship.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Will the new CC be charged correctly, and my iPhone X shipped on time?

I cancelled my order and walked into the Apple store in Annapolis MD and bought 2 phones. It was about 3.5 hours in line but they had plenty. Enough that I was able to change from black to white once I got to the front of the line. I'm not bothering with the online order stuff anymore.

Buy on an installment plan, then make one large payment to pay it off? Since there's no ongoing incentive that requires the installment plan, that should work.

Thought about that. Wasn’t sure if that locked me into any sort of contract. Plus the sales guy was miserable. Basically said wouldn’t be able to even help me for a while lol no one was there. Not sure what he was so busy doing.

At the ATT store the associate tried to put me on an installment plan. He said on launch day only installment plans. I told him I was paying in full check with the manager. Sure enough he said OK you can pay in full. Of course he said this was the first X he had sold today.

Yah wasn’t going to get into with the guy at target. He is just going as he was told. I will just have to deal with the wait which I don’t deal with well

They did the same thing to me. I'm just going to do an Exchange within the first two weeks, and then buy it outright :)
