IPAD WI-FI 3G 32GB BLACK-AT&T

I put $100 deposit on Black 32GB Verizon at Best Buy today and bet that I get the Best Buy call before Apple even ships. If my Apple ships, I'll just use the BB gift card refund to buy my camera kit etc.....

False. I ordered and had 3-5 day shipping. My delivery ranges are March 18 - 25, not 28.

oops, you are correct. So, if the ones who got shipping information today for delivery of March 22 and ours are still "not yet shipped", Apple could be cutting it close, huh?

I am sure no one who has any ability to change it will read this but I feel compelled to add my 2 cents:

I feel like an idiot for waking up at 4 in the morning to buy the IPAD2 in the hopes that I would attain it in a timely manner.

IPAD WI-FI 3G 32GB BLACK-USA
Ships: 3 - 5 business days
Delivers: Mar 18 - Mar 25

I know several people who have their item or who have a tracking number to indicate theirs has shipped. I paid good money that I worked hard for to attain this item. I am thankful I do not have the problems of others in this world and simply want what I paid for.

I understand the argument that it has not yet been 3/5 days for shipping but I question why distribution was not better set up to handle this? I would think with such a large launch they would be prepared to get these things into customers hands ASAP.

I am not being negative. I simply dont see this going well and I hope to get the damn thing before the end of March.

Thanks to the forum Mods for making a place to bitch about it.

HI CHRISTOS!

Well they might read it but they're not going to do anything about it. I know lots of people who don't want to hear anything negative. I have a much harder time with circular, illogical, and untruthful. Truthful, at least each person's version of what they believe to be the truth, is not negative-it's just the truth. My truth is that after the iPhone 4 fiasco (my first Apple product that I struggled for 4 hours to preorder, that I stood on line for for 5 hours being practically stomped to death every time we were asked to move the line-3 times-and losing my place because I refused to run past others and shove them out of the way, and that I then waited another hour to get once I managed to get inside the store), I decided to order the iPad 2 online with "fast free shipping". I set my alarm for every hour starting at midnight EST in case it went online early, which it did-before 3:40am EST. I was shocked at how easy it was to complete my order within 6 minutes of the available time (3:44am). I was also shocked that the "fast free shipping" was actually 3-5 business days but no way I was going to not place the order after all that, especially since. with of course no warning, AT&T did not have the 64 gig model). I received email confirmation immediately. Cool. Now 4 1/2 days later, my iPad is still not even prepped for shipping. Like many people I know, I love Apple products but don't love Apple. I don't believe for one second that they were overwhelmed by the demand. I believe they wanted to roll out the iPad 2 before they had enough produced to meet the demand because they had a lot of competition and maybe because Steve Jobs is ill and didn't want to wait to reap the praise or profits. I think they knew the iPhone 4 had antenna issues and they know the iPad 2 has bleed issues as well as production issues but they don't care one whit about their customers. Call that negative if you want. More accurate would be that it's not a version of the truth that's palatable to lots of "nice" people.

They really would be. I guess it it does get pushed up to the 28th, they will most likely give us a free Smartcover or re-imburse you for the one you've bought if we complain about it being over the time limit. I'd rather have the iPad come within the time range, than be reimbursed for my Smartcover, personally.

If it gets until mid to late next week and we still haven't got a shipping confirmation, then what's another weekend? But yeah, love to get it ASAP.

My story exactly! And I could have gotten one at Best Buy the same day with only 3 people in line. I decided to leave b/c I ordered at 3:47am EST. Figured I would have it by Friday. Bad move. Disappointing!

Another weekend would put more fuel in my pissed-off fire because that would mean thousands of others who ordered after me would be receiving theirs while I wait longer. It just comes down to fairness for me.

16GB White Wifi iPad 2 ordered 12:45am PST Friday 3/11- still NOT YET SHIPPED (not even, prepared to ship). Have had the Smartcover since Saturday. It shipped Friday. This is not right!

I order like 4 minutes (12:41am PST) earlier and going to the ipad2 today from fedex. That 4 minutes really make a difference.

Fair point, but if Apple doesn't even recognize this as being unfair or offering absolutely no rhyme or reason to the ordering/shipping process, then what can you do?

I'm just pissed that Apple has their hooks in me and I can't do anything about it. I have $350 of Apple giftcards I used for the purchase, so I can't go (well in theory I can) to BB, Target or other online stores to order it without taking a $350 hit, which is just dumb. Only reason I purchased the ipad2 is because I had gift cards.

So, either way, I'm waiting indefinitely for the ipad2.

Close but not close enough

Haha..joke on me as I thought shipment of my iPad was coming but a closer look revealed it was the Apple Care plan.

I ordered my iPad through the military online store (AAFES) on 11 Mar at 6PM. They gave me an instant order confirmation with their order number and said to expect shipment of 18 Mar. I thought .. okay I'm good.

After reading all of the horror stories of cancelled orders and heavily delayed orders, I thought .. umm okay I may be in trouble as my order said it was received by the supplier. I called Apple today just to see what in the world is going on and they had NO CLUE of my order! Scared the *%#@ out of me. They told me to call back AAFES to get further information because as far as they're concerned, there isn't any order in existence for me.

Called AAFES back and asked them, if my Apple Care plan was shipped, by whom?? They told me their orders go through a whole seller named Ingram Micro based in Cali and that the system showed mine is slated to move out on the 20th. They said it isn't guaranteed but that is how it is in the system as of right now. We'll see...fingers crossed!!

4 - 5 weeks...
In one month. "Pre-Order the iPad 3"

Apple only wants to be on the news

Same boat as everyone else it seems. Ordered around 1:15 PST (could have been earlier, but firefox was hanging...though I discovered that Safari went right through...hmmmmm)

64gb ATT Wi-Fi -- shipping to Arlington, VA. I also ordered with the camera plug in accessory.

So far, not a peep on the iPad2 at all. The camera accessory shipped on the 12th!! Though it seems to be in LANTAU ISLAND HK. Estimated delivery is still Thursday for that item, so my guess is they haven't updated yet.

iPad is still estimated at
"Ships: 3 - 5 business days; Delivers Mar 18- Mar 25"

Fingers crossed, I'm on vacation on April 3rd and was really hoping to take this with me.

I just got off the phone with apple customer care and explained my situation of ipads being delivered for people who ordered after me.

He said due to inconvience he changed my shipping from standard to overnight.....not sure if I'm believing this because this is the first I heard about it. So we will see.

Just curious where you see that delivery estimate. My cover is in TA YUAN HSIANG after having left Lantau Island and it's estimated to arrive March 22. I'm in Florida.

Yea, I'm leaving on the 31st of this month for vacation as well. It'll be a real bummer if I won't have the iPad take with me :(

I just called and they said the same thing, upgraded shipping to next business day!!!! For free!

Makes you wonder if 1) Apple knows they biffed up the online ordering process and 2) if they are going to ship all of the "yet to be shipped" 3-5 business days ipads overnight because they know it won't happed in the original expected delivery time.

Just checked my online order status...shipping has been changed from standard to priority.

Did the Delivers date on your order change from 18-25 to 18-19?

But don't they do overnight shipping anyway? Although standard shipping shows up, products usually arrive way before target date. I think Apple suggests standard delivery but actually ships out with Express shipping. I say this because this has been my personla experience in the past from previous debut launches like iPhone 4 and the original iPad.

Just a thought.
