iPad 2 Order

I ordered the 64GB Black iPad 2 3/11 at 1:00AM PST and still "Not Yet Shipped" from Apple. So I guess I wont see it this week.
 
Guys I'm beginning to lose hope for this week. The only hope now is a Saturday delivery which I know Apple almost NEVER does, let alone with free shipping.
 
Yep, still NYS here.

Looks like it'll be pushed to next week.

If I can find one locally I'll buy & return the other.

IMO, not a shot in hell we see our ipad's this week. Now just hoping for Monday or Tuesday of next week. Total bummer.
 
Ordered mine at 4:27am EST on launch day and still NOT YET SHIPPED. Those words will haunt my dreams for years to come. I should have just sucked it up and stood in line at the local Apple Store.

Not Yet Shipped

I had a chance to get in line at Best Buy day 1 (only 3 people were in line when I got there) but assumed the "Fast, Free" shipping would get it here this week. Big regret as I am leaving town on Sunday.


Hopefully they pull out the stops and I get it...LOL.....can't really ask them to rush because the customer service seems to have no insight or care to really listen.

This week??? Funny how one's hopes adjust to reality-I'm hoping to not receive a cancellation notice or a notice of delayed shipping! Read in the NY Times this morning that companies like Apple are for sure being affected by the disaster in Japan. Of course Apple refused to comment.
 
My tan leather smart cover on the other hand is in Lantau Island limbo-maybe it will find an iPad 2 to attach itself to there...

IMO, I think the 3G's we ordered aren't even a FG yet. I wonder how many hours it takes to manufacturer a ipad from start until it is boxed and ready for shipment? Plus, the 3G's have even more demand because not only does Apple have to stock it's stores, BB, Target, Wal-Mart, etc., it also has to stock ATT and Verizon stores too.

No idea why we would see a cancellation notice at this point in the game, especially if we order on or around 1:00am pacific time on launch day.

Yours and mine cover must be on the same flight...black leather cover in Lantau as well.

I don't know why people got cancellation notices. None of the posts I read were from people who ordered more than 2 iPads but most or all were from people who ordered 2 iPads and 2 covers. I submitted my order about 6 minutes after the online store showed the iPad 2 as available. Two Apple reps have told me that my order is perfect (if you consider an "open" order perfect) but the people whose orders were canceled seem not to have gotten a resolution other than to place a new order at a discount and wait for a month. eeek
 
16GB White Wifi iPad 2 ordered 12:45am PST Friday 3/11- still NOT YET SHIPPED (not even, prepared to ship). Have had the Smartcover since Saturday. It shipped Friday. This is not right!
 
I have a question about the order acknowledgement. Is it binding, so when you get the acknowledgement everything is set and ok and you just have to wait?
Or can the order still be cancelled after further checking?

I'll ask this because I ordered online with an US based billing & shipping address but with a Dutch (NL) credit card. I thought this would not work but it seems it went trough and I got an order acknowledgement e-mail.

If you click on your order details, if it can be canceled there will be a Cancel Items link. I think you can cancel up to the time they send a prepared for shipment notification or maybe up to the time they send the shipping notification.

I'm on day 2 of "prepared for shipment" on my 16Gb AT&T unit. So I can't cancel it, but I won't get it this week either.

You'd think Apple would be better prepared than this. I guess that dealing with 18 models is not easy.

I would call their customer service-they can look up your order. If there were an error, it would probably show in your order status.
 
Read the above comments, and I'll add that I can get furious over anything I want. This is a forum to discuss such issues...I'm not really seeing how my previous comments related to you or in any way affected your life. Why you feel the need to attack them or me is interesting. This is an online forum...let's keep it in perspective. Don't let it ruin your day.

plz...ruin my day? ha! I just find it such a sad commentary that people are so up in arms about having this device right away. Is there nothing else going on in life that can make the wait a teeny weeny bit bearable? Life doesn't begin or end with the iPAD 2.

OK, so i take your point that my post may have been mildly harsh. You can be furious if you want, I just don't see the point. Fury away, I just hope neither I nor my family are anywhere near you when something meaningful in life doesn't go your way....
 
iPad build schedule

So are they working 24 hours a day, three shifts in China to build the iPad 2? If they can ship more iPads for the Apple stores then why are we still waiting?

Ordered 2 iPads Friday 4:04 AM EST. Black 64GB and 16GB Wi-Fi models (his and hers). 16 shipped and is in Alaska.

64GB still ominously "Not yet shipped".

Went to the apple store this morning, about 35 people in line. Guy came out about 40 minutes before early 9AM opening to advise they received THREE iPads.

I agree though. The Apple Store shouldn't see a single additional iPad until already paid orders are filled / shipped. I ordered the device the day it came out. I didn't "pre-order" the device.
 
I have the 32GB 3G at&t black ordered at 12:44 am pst on the 11th. Status is "not yet shipped" . I went to an apple store this morning and waited in line, I was about 150th person in line. They sold out about 15 people in front of me. They had a lot of wifi and a lot of verizon models but the 3G at&t were in short supply, this is what the apple store employees where tellling everyone. So the 3G at&t models are definitely in short supply all around.
