So this is the first day of me testing a blue 13 Mini.
Anyone else love the small form factor?
It feels amazing in hand, especially without a case (just screen protector). And the blue is so nice.

I had a 12 Mini last year up until August when I got tired of the subpar battery life. So I bought a used 11 Pro Max (had one before the 12 Mini) to hold me over until iPhone 14.

I still had my Mini 12 sitting around until I figured out what I was going to do with it. Best Buy had an amazing deal where I could trade in the Mini 12 for only $69 + tax so it was a no brainer to upgrade to the 13 Mini.

And here I am, testing this bad boy.
I’m not a power user so I’m hoping that I’ll have enough juice left until bedtime.

I admire you. How's that switching from Max to mini for your fingers? I'm still undecided about 13 mini or 13.

Pros 13: I think that in longterm there won't be as much better battery life on 13 mini because of the degradation of the battery.
Pros 13 mini: I still do love the size and writing with one hand but battery is sometimes very bad for myself.

Yes! I’ve been caseless since I got my starlight. Awesome feeling! I think it’s safer to go caseless with the mini because it’s not cumbersome like bigger phones.

The 11 Pro Max shape helps compared with say a 12 or 13 Pro Max. But the weight is way too noticeable.
My fingers have less gymnastics that’s for sure. 🤣

Mini is best for it's weight and also for writing with one hand. But I see the donwside in writing with both thumbs.

Have had my 256Gb Starlight mini since launch day. Honestly impressed - battery has not been an issue as lots of opportunities during day to bump charge as needed. But - honestly has not really been needed, if Apple or someone comes up with a small(er) MagSafe pack that is reasonable $$ that would be nice, but not necessary. Screen is noticeably brighter and clearer than my wife’s 12 mini, cameras are ridiculous - only thing I would like is a zoom but as is considerably better than my iPhone 11 Pro (went to my son). Form factor is perfect, I run my text 120% to help with the old eyes and not an issue/works well for me.

I use for social media, email, work email, WebEx meetings, family pictures, news consumption, etc. Pretty standard would say moderate user. Works great - only thing I have noticed is stutter/stalls where an app freezes on occasion or a web page freezes/won’t scroll. That is not unique to Mini - c’mon apple fix your software - iOS 15.01 issues.

My first MagSafe device, purchased an amazon leather wallet that holds 4 cards and has a kickstand - it is awesome and helps me keep my carry to a minimum while giving me a great stand (portrait or horizontal). Honestly, cannot see going to a different device for my use and this one is a fairly significant bump from the 12 and a giant leap from my iPhone 11 + fantastic form factor. Hope Apple keeps this up in future releases…

Will a 12 Mini case fit a 13 Mini? I have a leather Decode back case and hoping to use it with a 13 mini.

**Update. never mind looks like it doesn't .

Really?

It’s not in Settings > Keyboard > Slide to type?
Oh, you meant this one. I thought you were speaking about Apple’s version of Swiftkey. That’s what we don’t have. But about that - I don’t have a problem with writing using one hand. I don’t need to make keyboard smaller. But typing with both thumbs sometimes makes me difficult. That’s one of two reasons I would like to buy 13 instead of 13 mini. But I had 12 for a month to try this year and it was quite big for me to take it out from my pocket, maybe it was because of the fear I would destroy it and I was already used to mini version. 🤔

Can you link the wallet w/kickstand your using? Thx.

Just placed my order for a 13mini. Coming from a 12PM so gonna be a little adjustment but looking forward to the sff and pocket carry. Probably my favorite phone to date was the X for its size and easy handling but thought I'd like the larger screen of the 12PM and while nice I can't help but wish it was smaller, so here I am.

I picked up a blue 128 GB one yesterday. I loved my original generation SE and I find the 13 a bit more awkward to hold due to its thickness and shape. I was planning on going careless but perhaps a non bulky case may provide a bit better grip. Apple leather one maybe but there have been quite a few reports that the quality has decreased over the past year or two.

I had a leather apple one for my 12pm and yes the leather quality is not what it used to be, somewhat waxy feel to it, compared to my iPhone X case which had the best patina.

My favorite of the many cases I've owned (otter box, apple leather, silicone, tech 21, spigen, etc.), was the Caudabe sheath which I plan to get for the 13mini. Best grip and slimmest profile with some protection for drops. Good luck!

For those who have had the 13 mini for a while now- do you find it gets warm to the touch on the back with light/moderate use?

I know the 12 mini commonly did, just curious of the 13 mini is better in that regard.

Was the phone in stock, or did you order it days in advance for store pickup?

My 12 mini never got warm during use nor has my 13 mini. The only time it happens that I have noticed is during charging, which is normal.

I walked into my local Apple Authorized Reseller (no Apple stores here in Finland) and asked what 13 minis were available in stock. They had about 5 blue ones, 4 red, and a few of the other colours. The customer at the cash just before me also purchased a blue 128 version. I was a little surprised as was the sales fellow as it often takes 2 or 3 weeks to get the new items in stock here.
