I find it hilarious that so many people in this thread say they have random people coming up to them to ask to hold their phones..are you all joking or is it just family and friends asking about it.

In all my years of owning a phone I've took notice of what random people are using and have never been approached to touch my phone.

I guess my lowly regular 6 doesn't have the same charm the big 6 has...for you single people out there, maybe it's a good way to pick up women?

If I wasn't married, I think I'd get the big 6 and use it to pick up chicks after seeing this thread..

I'm not joking at all. It happens to me pretty frequently. Maybe it's because I'm friendly?

Maybe it's because you're bragging out in public? :D. That's not a common occurrence. In fact it's pretty ridiculous for people to walk up to someone who's got the latest phone and ask "Could I hold your phone?". Most people mind their own business so unless you're holding the phone up high or having a raised-voice conversation with someone about your new phone nobody will generally pay attention to what you have. Come on.

I got my 6 on launch day (delivered by FedEx) so I wanted to give my 5S to my wife, who has been using my old 4S. We went to the AT&T store today to get her a new sim, and a guy came out the door holding a 6 Plus. I know it wasn't a new one because the girl who helped us said they only had 15 Pluses on launch day and haven't seen any since. That was the only Plus I have seen in the wild.

Bragging about it in public? Now you're kidding, right? I don't do that... because I'm not an insufferable prig. What happens is I'm using my phone and someone notices and says "Is that the new iPhone?" It goes from there.

One thing you'll learn as you grow older is that your experiences in life aren't EVERYONE'S experiences. It's a big mistake to think that they are.

I didn't say it was impossible, I said it just isn't a common occurrence. As I grow older? Haha. I'm sure you're much younger than me.

I don't walk around with a stupid smiley grin on my face if that's what you mean?

Do you smile and hold the phone out for people to see or are you just talking on the phone and random people just come up to you?

Whenever I'm out with my 6+, at least someone will ask to see it or comment about it

I think the Plus is still pretty rare (comparatively) due to supply issues.

When I took a flight on Sunday several people asked me about my Plus. They were all blown away and wanted to hold it, etc. lol

:apple:

Pretty much what happens at my job (best buy) I take out the 6+ and custormers and coworkers are like "holy ****, he has the 6+" Lol one guy even referred to it as the Jesus Phone 2 (original iPhone being the first Jesus Phone) Lol

It actually happens quite often. I take out my phone, especially at my job, to check my messages and then somebody is like "damn he has the 6+" I got that a lot from coworkers on launch day and custormers are still doing it. It was the same thing last year when I got the gold 5S. Everybody wanted to see it and asked me how I liked it and all that Jazz.

I'm usually just using it to browse or check texts or whatever. Not calls. People don't interrupt my calls.

I'm really surprised this seems so hard for people to believe. Maybe it's because I live in Portland where people aren't generally *******s?

Same here, happened twice the first at Starbucks the barista wanted to "touch it" as his hasn't been delivered yet. The second was this morning on the train. I feel apprehensive handing it over, not very safe to have a complete stranger want to hold it! Find it a bit strange as I wouldn't in all fairness ask a random nobody.

I could understand your situation since it's your co workers...people you know and interract with.

I'm questioning the people claiming random strangers coming up to them to touch their phones

you'd be surprised what people do. if someone is interested enough....why wouldn't they? When the 1st iPad mini came out I had all sorts of people at a conference asking to look at it.

I was at a wedding this weekend and took out my phone (6+) to take some pics and i could hear a couple behind me...the girl was like OMG Jeff....that guy has the 6+. then the guy was like omg look look...he's got the 6+!! I walked off shortly after hearing them, but if I didn't i'm sure they would have stopped me.

It happens man

That actually happens too, tho. I was actually at the store the other day. Whilst waiting to be checked out, I pulled out my 6+ to check my Twitter and Instagram and this guy behind me asked if that was the 6+ and I was like "yeah bro, it is" and the he asked how I liked it and all that stuff. He then took out his 5 and held it to my 6+ to get a size comparison and said that he is gonna end up getting a 6+. Hell if you wanna start up conversation, just pull out a 6+

I was lucky to get the 6+ yesterday. Since then I have had a remarkable number of people wanting to fondle it! I had to hand it to the check-in lady at LAFitness who said,"Oh, can I hold it?" At that point the manager came over and his eyes were bugging out. Then I paid for a coffee with it at Starbucks, and the owner was over-the-top when I let his hold it. It's just human nature, there has been so much hype over it that to actually see one "in the wild" is an ooo-ahh sort of reaction. I have never owned a possession this interesting to other human beings so it's a Very interesting experience.

Maybe I should make people pay to hold it. :D

I was sitting on the underground the other day next to a dude using a 6+, whilst using my 6+. So there's 2 in the wild.

I don't think it comes down to how many they've sold at the moment. It's more to do with the low supply of the 6+.

I have. I owned a first generation iPod. The first month and a half I owned it? It spent more time in the hands of friends and strangers than it did in mine. Literally. Plus it was white with white headphones, which was VERY unique back then so it stood out like a sore thumb. There was no being discrete with it at all.

I regularly get asked about my phone. And no, I am not waving it around in people's faces.
