knew that was gonna come back to haunt me. and i said it was the second worst thing to call a woman (and i only said that to point out that it should be censored, well nothing should be censored but if things are going to be censored that should be one of them) , not that i wouldnt call someone that. but i love how your trying to be my parent or sumthin and tell me how out of line i am. some people would find that very rude and out of line, including me. who's the hypocrite now?

we're all hypocrites so maybe we should stop pointing it out and get over it.

It's amazing you'd try and turn this whole thing around when you called the OP's mother a bitch.

If I hated my mother, and she PURPOSLY threw milk at my new $1200 MacBook Pro, I would be swearing at her, and probably call her a bitch. Then dump her wine of her $1200 MBP (she has the same as me) if she refused to pay for the repair of mine or buy me a new one.

But I don't hate my mother. Plus shes not the type of person who would do that. She yells when shes mad, not throwing stuff or fighing anybody, or breaking anything.

You missed my post earlier where I said if the OP wanted to say stuff about his mom then that's on him but it's rude for anyone else here to come out and say, "What a bitch". That type of response is childish.

hell yea i called her a bitch, id call my own mom a bitch if she did that to me

i wouldnt do all that but there would definitely be legal action against her

it may be childish but its also true

I did read your post earlier, but tflournoy95 (who called the OP's mom a bitch) is only 15 (profile says so) so it is childish, and he still is kinda a child.

Well because I'm only 14, I would do that IF she refused to replace my computer or pay the repair costs. If I was older and could afford a lawyer, then I would use legal action.

hell yea i called her a bitch....

Okay, because I know who and what I am dealing with, this will be my last post to you. Just understand that the OP can say anything he wants on the forum about his mother but what you said about his mother is the same as a direct personal insult towards the OP. You don't wanna see it that way, cool, but don't post on another forum that you feel that it's an insult to call a woman that but you'd call another forum member's mom that.

Well obviously you have no idea about the real meaning of family.

Either way this is totally off topic for this thread. :)

family doesn't break other peoples stuff.

You sound like a family member of mine. She broke somebody elses (also in the family) equipment to the tune of $700 dollars (which she needed) and told the owner "i'm not paying for it and don't bother me with it". Then the injured party began to file a suit and the person who broke the hardware said "wow I can't believe you are going to sue your own family I thought we were better than that" and promptly paid up LOL

I give up. You people have obviously never taken apart a HDD. There needs to be air holes for different air pressures (eg, altitudes). The air filters on the holes filter the dust out, but fluids can still pass through. If you know basic science, any gas is still a fluid, just not a liquid fluid.

Here is a copy and paste from my dictionary app:

fluid |ˈfloōid|
noun
a substance that has no fixed shape and yields easily to external pressure; a gas or (esp.) a liquid : we all need several glasses of fluid a day | a cleaning fluid.

i take offense to that (not really:D) but i would define a child as someone who isnt a junior in high school.

if i poured wine all over my mothers computer i would probably be made to go live with my deadbeat father so that would never happen.

yea cuz the real meaning of family is one where the mother cheats on her husband and destroys her child's (very expensive) possessions. i say sue here for everything he can get out of her

okay fair enough, maybe i shouldnt have called his mother a bitch, but i think that we both have said things that we shouldnt have. like you telling me how out of line and rude i am.

but i would be very surprised if that wasnt the first thing that most people thought after reading that op.

and how does that make me wrong? i did say that i heard there were air holes in hdds just that i couldnt find any. and logically any fluid in the drive would seep out and be absorbed by the rice, like i said.

and actually i have taken apart a hard drive before, i like how the platters are really shiny and mirror like dont you? and how the little moving thingy that sits on top of the platter hurts really bad if you poke it.

You take it to the Apple store tomorrow-Warranty is instantly voided, your best bet would be to take off the top case and clean the board with de ionized water

Warranty was instantly voided when the first drop of milk hit the keyboard. There are water sensing strips under the keyboard.

You obviously dont know how sensitive hard drives are. If there is any residue on the platters. ANY residue at all, the drive will not function correctly.

maybe over time but for what i suggested (clone the drive and replace it) it would work just fine. how do i know? ive done it before.

and check out the update on that other post, so much never taken a hard drive apart before huh?

How did this thread turn into a debate over someone calling his mom a bitch? Some of you gents act like two 14 year old girls fighting over a boy.

He called her a bitch with just cause. I would even say that milk stunt was worthy of using the C-Bomb!

Put your egos on hold for a second and give the OP some advice to get his Macbook operational again.

Back on topic....get a can of contact cleaner at a local hobby shop, break your MB down and give the logic board a nice bath. Contact cleaner or dielectric cleaner will remove the dried milk and evaporate away fairly quickly.

hell yea. :D

but i did give some advice on getting his mbp up and running too

I would try using a hose from a vacuum cleaner to suck out as much liquid as possible to keep it from sinking in. Then leave the laptop off at least a week.

so then why are you acting as if you have done it before, and know everything about hard drives. You obviously don't, so don't come here and tell us that you do. Kthxbai.

i just said i have done it before. and i dont claim to know everything about anything. i am just speaking(typing) from experience. perhaps you are the ignorant one in this situation?

haha oops i thought you said "how do i know? i have never done this before" lol sorry just ignore my comments... lets just let this thread sink back into oblivion, now that the OP has gotten some advice...

There's no point crying over spilt milk.

Did you put your MacBook in a sack of rice yet?

I've read another post in another electronics forum about saving electronics from water/liquid damage. I'm not sure if it will work on a MacBook Pro. But first you must turn the device off. Then you clean up whatever you can. Remove the battery, submerge the device in distilled alcohol. The alcohol is suppose to force the water out. Then you take the device out out of the distilled alcohol and stick it in rice. The alcohol will dry up much faster then water and will leave the device clean.

Again, I'm not a professional repair tech but that's just what I've heard; and I've seen others agree with this process. Good luck.

alcohol is better than water but water does just a good a job it just takes longer. plus alcohol is highly flammable when wet so if it wasnt completely dry when you turned it back on you could end up with a flaming mbp.(not that that wouldnt be a badass picture to have)
