i take offense to that (not really:D) but i would define a child as someone who isnt a junior in high school.
The way in which you chose to act is indicative of a junior high student.

okay fair enough, maybe i shouldnt have called his mother a bitch, but i think that we both have said things that we shouldnt have. like you telling me how out of line and rude i am.
I doubt he regrets it, I wouldn't.

but i would be very surprised if that wasnt the first thing that most people thought after reading that op.

Does that mean it needs to be voiced? Admit it, you saw that saying that word was okay in my thread and now you want to use it. I know how to kill people, and that does not mean that I should.

My response: Probably about as much as I regret calling the op's mom a bitch

Using a word and killing someone are two very different things

OP, leave it in the rice, saved my old phone :)

as for the arguing in this thread, it made me laugh

Bitche$

:p

knew that was gonna come back to haunt me. and i said it was the second worst thing to call a woman (and i only said that to point out that it should be censored, well nothing should be censored but if things are going to be censored that should be one of them) , not that i wouldnt call someone that. but i love how your trying to be my parent or sumthin and tell me how out of line i am. some people would find that very rude and out of line, including me. who's the hypocrite now?

we're all hypocrites so maybe we should stop pointing it out and get over it.

I know one thing for sure, I'm glad you're not my kid! You come across as a self-serving entitled brat. You call someone else's mother a B$@#*$ and then in another, you say that his mom should be sued. For ruining a computer no less! You watch too much Jerry Springer. And we ALL aren't hypocrites... but you are, so quit trying to project yourself onto others.

if im so self serving and entitled, why do i buy my stuff?(xbox, computer, ect) and if the computer is broke and his mom doesnt replace it, why shouldnt he sue her?she owes him money. and ive never met anyone in my life who wasnt a hypocrite about something at some point in their life.

and actually i dont watch jerry springer. i think its a stupid show with a bunch of inbreeding rednecks. and also they should let people really fight, not just break it up after a couple seconds.

just because your family might be all peachy and whatever doesnt mean everybodys is. sometimes legal action is the only thing that will get through to people. its sad but its also true.

oh and i wouldnt want to be your kid either.

I'm beginning to think that you are either a highly affective troll or a truly horrible child.

ive been told that im a pretty good child.(even though im not a child) i just have a different way of looking at things than most people on here. just because i would be willing to sue my mom doesnt make me a bad kid.

and i dont try to be a troll, but if i come off like one, my bad. its probably just me looking at things differently than you.

(even though im not a child)

Seeing some of the posts in this thread, and your user name, I think that it's assumed that you're about 15, you get WAY too defensive over something little, and go off on a tangent on it. And the fact that you say you're not a kid, but refer to yourself as one, doesn't help your argument either..

/off topic

To the OP, that sucks that your mom did that. Just learn in the future to not have your MBP near any liquids, especially within throwing distance :D

i would rather say kid than "young adult" cuz that just sounds douchey. and like ive said before, i dont think a junior in high school can be considered a child

You know, I wouldn't sue my mom. Then again, I don't think I'd ever have to cause she'd never do something like that and she'd replace it if she some reason did (even if it was by accident).

Honestly, I think the point here is not everyone has happy families that are honest, good people. Some people are born to jerks. Should they just let the jerks run over them just cause they are family? Sometimes it is best if some one just walks away and no longer considers some one related to them as family. It's stupid to think that just cause they are related by blood means they did something to deserve respect. Sure, maybe give more leeway, but there is a point that being blood related should not mean you give them a pass on their actions.

Family only means something if they actually act like family. And just cause some one birthed you doens't mean they should have the right to walk all over you either.

So yeah, I think it's stupid to tell some one not to sue their mom and they are a horrible person if they do just cause she happens to be their mom. Not unless you know the situation (kids can be horrid kids too, it goes both ways).

Ok so I opened it up, got a good set of screwdrivers and a can of contact cleaner from maplin (uk store if unfamilliar). Umm please let me know if I really should use a different treatment like alcohol or deionized water...

When I removed the plate I found a slight puddle of milk on the battery, like dangerously close to the hard drive, a little on the inside of the plate as well. Surprisingly, and hopefully, the logic board appears to have no liquid, dried or wet, on it at all. Check pics below, sorry couldn't resize them...

I carefully soaked and wiped the milk off where visible with a paper towel.
I should at least disconnect and remove both the battery and the hard drive just now, but I'm a little afraid to go as far as to unscrew the logic board, is it really really necessary??

If it was soy milk you're okay. Bovine milk is frowned upon by Apple.

stop pussyfooting around and get some dang electronics alcohol and start wiping it down with a Q-Tip.

You're warranty is already INVALID so you might as well.

i dont think you're going to need to remove the logic board. wash it with DISTILLED water. it MUST be distilled. and let it dry in rice for like 5 to 7 days.

distilled water doesnt conduct electricity so logically you wouldnt need to remove the battery, but better safe than sorry. i would remove the hard disk though.

i would buy another hard disk and 2 usb enclosures and use another computer to clone the original drive and once thats done just use the old disk as an external if it still works.

after the 5 to 7 days make sure you got all the rice out before plugging it up and seeing if it works.

and if it does work be glad that it works and also be sad that the milk washed away your warranty.

you can get distilled water at your local walmart or whatever grocery store you typically go to.

I hope that things work out for you! No revenge... please... it's not the answer. It will cause more problems.

getting revenge and holding someone responsible are two very different things.

if it doesnt work i would definitely recommend forcing the mother to replace it and taking legal action if she refuses.
