I have gone through 3 iPhone 7 handsets now, I'm about to give up.
Apple still can't sort out their screens!!!

1st handset: very bad yellow tint to bottom of screen.

2nd handset: Noticeable dark patches across screen, very obvious one right in the centre, uneven backlight possibly? (still has yellow tint on bottom of screen)

3rd handset: I finally thought I'd found one that I could live with, still had yellow tint to bottom of screen but it wasn't as bad as the 1st. AND THEN I FOUND A DEAD PIXEL!

Does anyone here have a handset with a good screen??

I'm kind of reluctant to go for a 4th!

UPDATE: I decided to give up on the iPhone 7. I just don't think the screens are as good as Apple make out. To everyone here going on about the overall yellow screen compared to the 6s, that's not why I was returning mine.
I didn't like the uneven screen uniformity or color across the panel or the dead pixels I was getting.
I also feel a company that markets themselves as having such incredible and accurate screens should not get away with this.
So Apple, I am not buying the iPhone 7.

Wow. That's sucks. Try till you get it right.

I think I'm really starting to annoy the guys in the store!
And not only that, there's no more Jet Black 7s in the country (NZ)

Also it's my time and effort to keep going back in. I've lost $50 already on screen protectors I have to re buy. such a nightmare!

I just wish Apple would sort their QC out!

So your screen is fine? No yellow tint on bottom, dark patches, dead pixels etc?

Idk haven't got it yet. Hopefully I get one with bend gate yellow gate touch disease freeze gate and dead pixels. Lol jk.

I'm still waiting tho

I think they all have some sort of problem too a degree. It's a matter of getting one that is better than the others and doesn't annoy you. I went through 8 (cough, yes 8) iPhone 6's until I got one that was mostly even but it still had a dust speck up in the corner. Then I gave up. It's just the nature of the edge lit LCD's.

I have 4 of them (well family does). 2 each 7/7+.

Got 5 6s last year, all good out of the box.

I'd definitely wait on the screen protector until you get a good one. Would be such a waste of money to spend on a screen protector if you know you have issues with the device. I always buy screen protector couple days later as I know that if I get a device that is defective and needs to go back then I don't have to waste my money on them.

I hear you. I went through 5. 6th was acceptable but not perfect.

There are decent screens out there but they seem to be the minority right now.

Yes. Could be the nature of the technology. Maybe oled will be better?

My 7 Plus has been perfect out of the box. Bad user luck for you unfortunately.

I'll let you know how mine is in 1-2 months. This ridiculous wait time is what is going to keep me from getting another iPhone. I avoided them for 8 years because of it and am thinking about cancelling my first ever iPhone order and just getting the Pixel.

I dont have bad screen quality on my 7 plus. My problem is the phone make creaking sounds when I gently twist or squeeze the phone. Within 14 days of the purchase, I purchased 3 more 7 pluses hoping that I will get a perfect phone then I would return the original one, but I returned the 3 of them and keep the original one as of today.

The second one had no creaking sound but had a few dead pixels on screen, which I think is even worse than the creaking noise so I returned it. The third one having no creaking noise but it came with chipped paint on the metal housing straight out of the box and.... 1 dead pixel one screen, returned. Lastly, the forth one, dead pixels and creaking noise again, returned on the spot. It appears that dead pixel is the most common problem for iphones, I have experienced this issue since my very first iphone, iphone 4.

I have lost confidence in buying Apple products, every time I get a new apple product, such as an ipad or an iphone, I would be able to spot some flaws on the product. They still function perfectly but the flaws really make me feel like I have bought a cheap product, even the fact that I did not spend less in Apple products.

I don't understand the twisting thing. Why would you twist your phone?

I don't twist the phone on purpose, I started to notice the creaking sound when I was installing and removing the case out of my phone. My phone creaks when I twist it very very gently.

Okay, well don't do that! Problem solved. It seems a bit of a waste to return four phones because of a creaking noise that occurs when you are doing something the phone isn't meant to do. Many things creak when they are flexed. Doesn't mean it is a defect.

As compared to the iphone 6s plus, it is defective. I only feel my time was wasted after going back and forth to return phones. Apple wont lose anything, i dont care if it is a waste for Apple. As long as the return policy is still valid, I can legally make a full use of it.

Same here. 3 Pluses and all had issues

1. Ok screen but people couldn't hear me after 30 seconds. ? Issue and returned.
2. Very yellow and not too bright. Returned. Looked terrible
3. Not too yellow and ok brightness, not great. Half screen looked slight more bright. Left corner was not flush either, could rally feel edge. Returned.

The color temp has been set different for the iPhone 7 so the whites will not look as blue as the 6 and 6S. How do people not understand this?!

That 7 looks fine to me. The problem is when the screen is uneven and you have obvious darker yellow tinge in various parts of the screen like the top or bottom (manufacturing fault/poor QC) which is happening in many of these screens and the majority of people don't see it or don't care.
