That was annoying. On my ipad pro 11" gave the option to download 14. Started the download and then got "download failed" message. Now it's back to "iPadOS 13.7 Your software is up to date."

I had the public beta on my iPad Pro and was able to download the iOS 14 release without issue. Was running iOS 13.7 on my iPhone Pro Max and have not even seen an option to download yet.

BTW, that's why I didn't install the GM. I figured I could wait a day to be 100% sure I get the actual release version.

Macrumors Newbie? I trust Apple testing when compared against comments from a newbie in this forum.

There is nothing wrong with someone giving their opinion on the matter. I agree with the OP that sometimes it can be best to wait a few point releases before doing the update. I have enough experience with iOS and macOS to know that the initial release will probably have some bugs. It happened in iOS 13 and macOS 10.15.

Still on 12.4.1 on my 6s and couldn’t be happier.. Will probably grab ios 14 when it comes out of beta in September 2021 under the name of 14.7.. Enjoy a year of beta testing guys

I've gotten a lot of updates today in the App Store. None of the release notes say anything about iOS 14 compatibility though. I just assume that was baked in.
