The back of these phones makes me wanna play dominoes...

It's definitely a revolutionary new camera design

Am I the only one NOT getting excited at all? It's always the same. Faster, better camera...done!

Spot on here. Faster processor won't make much of a difference to me since I own the 12. I rarely use the camera on my iPhone anyway. Probably will end up keeping my 12 quite honestly.

There's only so much you can do with a rectangular glass/metal slab at this point. We won't see huge advances in mobile phones for another several years. That's just the nature of the beast. Meanwhile the corporate giant that is Apple has to conjure up new stuff to pad their bottom line.

Lazy, uninspired aesthetic and design. Truly awful - and I know the saying gets passed around often, but Steve Jobs would never have allowed this to hit the market.

From the multiple lenses, to the large camera bump itself, to even the notch, it’s all ugly and all horrible lazy design. It’d never hit production under Jobs, much less used for several years. I can’t wait until Apple designs something truly stunning again. If they ever do.
To be fair you have to increase the camera size for the camera to be better. The Steve stuff is just lazy, he’s dead and let me remind you he green lighted the iPhone 4 that has terrible call quality.

Camera updates make sense to Apple. They encourage more storage and use of Apple Photos and iCloud. It promotes more taking and sharing; using more apps.

A better battery does not fit into complimentary services. Look at how email was ignored by Apple for so many years until they found a privacy angle they could charge for. A nicer design is not as important as an aesthetic that is clearly Apple to help market share.

They’re not trying to make the best product possible. They are here to maximise ROI and push the market to pay as much as possible.

This is all I see.
I am curious how better these cameras on Pro models will be, but I most likely will wait until the 14's

So same thing for the past few years. Sometimes I wonder, if Steve Jobs was still alive, how evolved the iPhone would’ve been by now.
The Mac didn’t really change much going from PowerPC to Intel. The first gen MacBook Pro for instance looked pretty much like a G4 with a built in web cam. There were aesthetic changes but honestly, what more can you really do with a rectangle and a square?

Android makers seem to have no troubles innovating new features for their rectangle and squares. I know this is an Apple site but lets get real, "fel10" and all those making comments to the effect are right, Apple are not doing good enough. The past several years Apple seem to be drip feeding features that the competitors have had for years.

Other companies have shown that there are a lot more you can do.

Even if Apple could come out with a drastically evolved model this year their sales record tells them it would be far more profitable to pace themselves.
Money and greed have stopped Apple from being the creative company, and they have now become the lazy company with more money than they know what to do with.

No Touch ID = No Upgrade. Am I the only one with Face ID that does not work with mask or sunlight or backlight or low light? It is useless in day to day use.

I'll most likely get the 13 mini, since it's due to be the last one. I really like my 12 mini and wish they had sold better. As for the placement of the buttons, I've been sending a lot of feedback to Apple about that (not that they're necessarily listening to me). I'm constantly taking screen shots just by picking up the phone. For the mini especially, the power button should have been on the top of the phone. By having the volume and power buttons directly opposite each other, just holding the phone can cause repeated inadvertent screen shots. By shifting one set of buttons down, that will make it less likely to happen.
