I still can't get my head around that ugly bezel at the top of the screen. If Steve Jobs was still alive, this would never have been allowed.
It would have been scrapped as way too ugly. Thing is, you
know it's going to be fugly, given Apple over the past several years. The 6-7 are really bland and boring. I'll give you that Samsung is at least as bad looking (probably more so), but not all phones are. Take a look at the most recent Nokia flagship, and tell me that isn't a better looking phone. Apple has just gone off the rails and is screwed like Microsoft. They are institutionally incapable of designing products like they used to be (and it isn't just hardware), for instance the latest iOS updates cause lag and introduce occasional lockup as well as sporadic phone lockups on both the 6 and 6S.
Overall, I think I'm sticking with them as the app ecosystem is still far better developed on iOS, but that's rapidly changing. You could always do more on an Android because the platform was more open, but the stability of the apps was never close to as good. I really can't fault anyone for choosing a newer Android phone. Many are more attractive, have similar CPUs and GPUs (Apple still a little ahead there, but hardly enough to matter except in benchmarks), so why shouldn't someone get one?
I was pretty sure they were doing something revolutionary last year, only to be disappointed to the 7 was actually a 6s v2. I figured this was due to how cool this year's phone would be, but all we have an AMOLED screen, wireless charging, and no home button. This isn't bezel-less, so I don't know why people are saying that. It's got an ugly bezel. And, then they went with the weird cut out, which is just about the most inelegant way they could have tackled this. Tell me that isn't something old Microsoft wouldn't have done.
I'm still holding out a splinter of hope (although I know it's foolish) that this isn't the real phone. This is just some silly intentional leak to hide the real thing due to their new security focus. But, I know in my heart of hearts that this is almost assuredly it. It screams Cookian Apple--functional and ugly, rather than functional and elegant.
