i hope there are some additional bug fixes from the RC. My mini 12 battery has taken an absolute beating since installing it last week.

If you have an iPhone‌ 6s and you are upgrading to iOS 15, you are my hero.
I’m still on a iPhone SE (2016) here.

Probably will upgrade to iOS 15; though just like iOS 14, (and iOS 13) there’s a slim chance more than 2 person(s) in Apple iOS QA have given this a quick sanity/smoke test.

I’m not complaining. I see little to complain about since I am fully aware we “Jobs era” designed device owners are running on borrowed time. I bet this device loses support before my iPad Air 2 though.

Will it make my device slower? I can't wait for an upgrade that would make it faster.

Will never happen. lolz. But it's a nice thought.

Remember iOS 4? I had an iPhone 3G at the time and it made the phone unusable (came to a screaming halt).

Smh. Nice clickbait Macrumors

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME!

I reckon 80% of their posts are click bait.

The worst? A 5 min video that says absolutely nothing with the sign off, 'what do you think? post in the comments below'.

If you disable the (awful) bottom Safari tab setup then the “old” address bar sometimes goes missing until you load a website or relaunch safari.

I've never done a fresh install or reset. I started from iPhone 3GS and went through numerous updates and transfer to new phones with the same copy and never had any problem or slowdown or battery drain. But not everyone has the same experience.
Battery drain almost 100% related to settings background apps and logging. There were only 1 or 2 releases that used battery faster, but if you are worried just hold off for a bit

The more pressing question is — how long are they going to let iOS 14 be installed on a newly acquired older device? Like a refurbished iPhone for example. A lot of us don't want to get near any new version of iOS until the Spring.
Usually Apple will stop “signing” installs of the previous iOS about a week after release, though since Apple has now announced they will continue to support older iOS versions for security updates, it is unknown how deep that support is.

Please note- People running older iOS versions do so for a reason, and occasionally the same people have a malfunctioning device that will need serviced.

Old Apple “back in my day” wouldv’e had me say tough luck; if you were reasonable, maybe I would go out of my way and suggest there are other unsupported avenues to accomplish anything if one is willing to roll the dice - but then and now I do not recommend it.

I would then probe to see what objections you may have to an updated replacement device. If your story was reasonable any you were not a f***ing a****le, i’d do my due diligence to find a replacement device with a possible week of manufacture date way back when……

Check the background refresh and logging settings, as always for a battery issue on update

A previous iOS update caused widespread reception issues. I'm certainly not the only one who's experienced it.
I remember that, there were some serious carrier issues. I had to update network settings for AT&T and they had screwed up some of there network for a protocol change

I will be updating since my new phone will be here Friday and restoring from backup requires the same OS version.
This process always irked me, I mean why is a previous OS version unable to transfer to a new one. I don’t remember this being the case with macOS.

Maybe update iPhone on iPad it’s unfortunately going to be on mini 6. iPadOS 15 has been a snooze fest this year, hoping for version 16 to be a major upgrade. Come on full external display support.

Unless Apple says that, it isn’t what’s supposed to happen. According to a lot of people we were supposed to get an Apple Watch with flat edges. Unless an Apple employee says it, I don’t believe it.
I think MacRumors is relying on the history of new OS version releases over the past several years. Apple has a long history of releasing them around 10am PT, unless there is an unexpected snafu like last year. “Around“ 10am PT means it could be a few are more minutes afterwards, and of course if too many try to get the release at one time the servers might not allow you to download it until later when demand goes down. But generally speaking, Apple tends to release them starting around 10am PT.

Ugh always right in the middle of the workday on the east coast. And I know I don’t have the patience to just wait till evening ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, absolutely. They said as much in the post. I am preempting the inevitable "OMG the update is delayed!" when people don't see it at 1:01 PM ET. They promised that we would get it tomorrow. That's all we actually know.

Spending the weekend with iOS 15 and it's buggy AF! I've already ran into:

- Tags being forgotten, though that seemed to fix itself
- Safari having some massive problems loading images via Javascript, where the image is a top layer and has no idea how to dismiss it
- tvOS controls being stuck on the screen with no escape from up (swiping up)
- General freezing left and right, and I'm using a iPhone 12 Pro Max

For an iOS update that isn't really adding too much, it really has going a bit badly going into an RC.

Staying on iOS 14 for now. Concerned about iOS 15 breaking sharing between my iOS 12 devices and MacOS devices stuck on Mojave and older iTunes versions for syncing.
