Can someone remind me: What (if anything) do we know about the Petrelli brothers' father? Is there any chance at all that Linderman is actually their (biological) father?

My buddy and I were talking about that after the show on Monday. We couldn't remember if it was ever stated when the Petrelli's father died. I don't think the two are the same, but it's something we thought about.

Ma Petrelli has already hinted to Claire that she also has powers, so her being a "carrier" is presumably enough for the two boys to have inherited powers (assuming that that's how this all works). But I just get this hunch that there are additional family ties that they're going to spring on us down the line.

According to the comic which I have yet to read Linderman and Petrelli's father fought together in Vietnam.

On the show in Pertrelli's father died of a heart attack or something just before Nathan was about to testify against him. (When his wife was injured in the car accident.) That was 3-4 years back in a flashback.

As for the graphics novels

cd desktop;mkdir heros;cd heros;curl http://www.nbc.com/Heros/novels/downloads/Heros_novel_[001-030].pdf -O

Possibly, perhaps something like brother and sister or whatnot? Who knows.

On a slightly off topic:
I wonder if I am the only one that views Peter as stronger then Sylar. It seems that Peter can absorb power if it is displayed, whereas Sylar must kill in order to gain that power, so anything that Sylar throws out Peter can absorb. While he may not use the power as well right now, I think his raw power is (At least now- maybe not at the first encounter) at a much higher "level" then Sylar's.

It was 6 months prior to the current time frame; that whole episode centered around what happened 6 months ago that led to the events of today. So Peter becomes a nurse, Nathan gets into the accident, and then the father dies, presumably in a 2-3 week period. While the show might have intended for that to be farther back in time, the rest of the episode was specifically 6-months prior centered, so I would assume the Petrelli storyline was the same.

Forgot to quote it, but someone mentioned why Linderman blackmailed and kidnapped Nathan on the same day-he might not have ordered that particular kidnapping, or it might have been intended to be an express checkup. I wouldn't call it a plot hole yet.

From what the creator has said, they have a road map for this year and next year. And since they plan on having the overall arcs last one season, they could go on for quite a while without frustration from the viewers, since major mysteries would get resolved repeatedly...

My bad on the timeline couldn't remember and 6 months seemed awfully short.

The one year plot arcs really are the way to go.

finally got to watch last week's show. had to watch the braves lose instead.

firstly, i think i was dead on when i said earlier in the year that new york will explode and that they will fail, as issac pointed to that before dying. everything in the paintings will happen and there's not much they can do about it. think about it, everything so far in the paintings has come true in a sense, so that means new york will blow up no matter what. that's why issac was talking about no longer fighting the future, because it's not really of use, it's predestined. this could get into a philosophical talk about predetermined future, while only having the illusion of being able to change the future vs. being actually able to change the future. it's probably something the writers want us to think about, although they have leaned towards the former, and i believe that the show is going to dictate that point.

i doubt mrs. patrelli has powers, but i think she's a carrier as someone mentioned earlier.

i think the reason sylar didn't kill suresh was because suresh could rebuild the data base that had the list on it, and at the time he left, it was destroyed.

you think linderman and hiro's dad talked to each other during the war, and what is their relation to mr. patrelli?

and where did wi-fi girl go?

i think claire goes to paris, then sneaks off to new york while grandma's not looking to try to save peter, thus making the dream true.

and i'm hoping this mess is cleared up before the season ends, i don't want a mega cliffhanger all the way into october. that's it for this week, everything else has been covered.

sorry, one more thing, i think that blowing up new york will help the heroes get ready for the bigger threat coming next year.

I feel confident in saying that was maybe the best twist ever.

This show, literally, delivers in spades.

Oh god yes. I think this show is an example of how serial writing with many plotlines can not only move a season-long arc to a conclusion, but can even deviate from it's normal plotting (see Company Man, this episode) and still deliver on plot movement and development.

The cinematography just gets better and better. I love the comic book-esque framing that comes into play throughout the episodes.

Even though I knew there was a high body count, I jumped several times. One of the best of the season, right below "Company Man" in my opinion.

Had to work late so I missed Heroes and 24. Did catch the last 15 minutes... holy crap! Can't wait for itunes. Took a look at the episode listing for the final 3. It all sounds pretty tight. Season 2 however....

Dude, reason #1 to get a DVR.

I get goosebumps watching parts of that show, on the reveals about sylar and peter. Just terrific. As someone already said, great cinematography, it looks so good in hi-def.

yeah, but all the shows are coming to an end. I'll eventually invest in an EyeTv. Are there any DVRs that can record free over the air HD broadcasts? Everthing HD seems to be linked to cable or satilite. Not interest in those.
I take back what I said earlier. The next 2 episode sound tight. The 2 hour season finale has an odd discription on wikipedia.
Can't wait to see how Hiro reacts when he meets the characters who chose the wrong side in the future. He doesn't know Sylar was posing as Nathan does he?

All I can say is WOW! Not in that pathetic Vista ad type of wow, but WOW!

Great episode tonight. The future really turns everything you knew upside down.

Just so many things happened in tonights episode I think I'll have to watch it again.

They really outdid themselves, I only hope the season finale can live up to this episode.

Nice spoiler post there, way to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet.

Sorry. It's a little late, but I changed the text to white. The other 3 or 4 TV show threads I post to allow for discussion the episode after broadcast on show nights. Actually this is the only thread that doesn't say Spoilers in the title. Again, sorry.

Well, I think spoilers are acceptable after it has aired everywhere, but remember you live on the east coast, people out west don't get to see the episode until 1 or 2 or 3 hours later. :)

after tonights show i can say one of the best shows on tv. i only got into this show because there was a marathon on the sci/fi channel. i'm so glad i did!

I just watched it and I join with the rest of the heroes fans in saying HOLY SHYT that was THE BEST episode of any television show i have ever seen. I could go on for hours and hours talking about what i thought about the episode, but i think ill save that for the Heroes club i started @ school. YATAHHH!!!

Precisely why i NEVER look at this dastardly thread i started before Heroes comes on over here.
