I don't beleive that's the case at all. I believe Mr. Bennett faked a kidnapping of his daughter. Ergo the removal of memories. If the company thought Mr. Bennett was dead, there would be no need to remove memories tying him to Clair as nobody would think to look for them in a dead man. Also, remember the Haitian said "There cannot be anything casting doubt" (or something like that) stating that Mr. Bennett is expected to return to work.

I believe that Mr. Bennett staged a kidnapping of Claire by the Haitian, so he could both protect his family, and himself.

Yes- that's exactly right. Bennett will be back for sure. I guess the only question remaining would be, where is Claire going? And what is this organization Bennett works for? Is it governmental?

I don't know who he works for, except that Hiro's father is involved somehow. Doesn't seem government run though. Everything seems to be revolving around Clair. Every time they mention something about "hiding" one of them, it is always Clair.

Staging

I dont get it  Why did the Haitian guy kill Mr. Bennett infront of Claire in the end of the episode??
He didn't kill him. They where staging an excuse for Claires disappearance to give his boss (Eric Roberts). He said "Right here, an inch higher and I'll be dead." Then told him to take any memories that would lead them to Claire.
Also, When Mr. Bennett took "the Invisible guy" to the bridge..it seemed like Bennett wasn't shooting @ him.. The bullets were being forced out of the gun OR like somebody else was in control of the gun
Yeah, noticed that weirdness with the first shot too. Maybe Bennett was staging Claude(the invisible man)'s death for some one, but something went wrong. Maybe Claude was protecting Claire with Bennett and that whole conversation in the car was just an act for anyone who might have been listening in. And I know what you're thinking. "Why would Bennett hunt Claude and Peter in New York if they are allies?" Bennett had to hunt Claude because he didn't know he could trust the Haitian yet and maybe the staging really did go wrong and Claude believes Bennett betrayed him. It sure seems that way Claude cared about people once, but look at him now.
I don't believe Claude is real name, but we gotta call him something.

That was a great episode.

I knew that Bennet was setting himself up to get shot and memory erased so he could not turn in or give any help in finding Claire.

When Bennet shot the invisible man Claude (Christopher Eccleston) it looked like an accidental trigger pull for the first shot, lots of emotional anger on Bennet's part imo lead to the accidental first trigger pull.

Also, What's going to happen to the nuclear guy and the mind reader? (sorry about the lack of names.) :)

Thats what i am wondering also. Cause didn't they (Bennet) at one point hae them locked up and was trying to ind out how they "ticked."

So I guess my question is, did the Hatian erase Bennets memories after every "special" person they took, or had bennet just started going out on his own to find these people. Cause you would think that if he had found them once and then released them why would they be back in the place again??

I think Capt. Nuclear is going to be contained for a while, but somehow Peter (The Absorber) will run across him as he needs to be imbued with the Nuclear power to be the danger he fears he is - funny thought, I wonder that with the power comes a certain lack of control. Ted was kind of doing calming exercises.

As for Matt, I think he's Mr. Bennett's next partner. Should be a good one being trained as a officer of the law.

Oh scary thoughts. I think you may be right!

greatest show so far, not only did we find out that mr. bennett wasn't a giant conspiracy, but there's a whole other conspiracy behind it.

more thoughts a bit later, watched a bit too close to jerhico.

Did anybody else notice the multiple blood stains on the bridge when the Haitian shot Bennet? It looks like many people have died there since Bennet shot the invisible guy.

ok. so having read through this, and thinking back... i feel like i must have missed an episode. the one where matt and nuke guy meet. in fact, i don't even remember nuke guy at all before this episode i don't think (well, the last one, where internet woman comes to him)...

He was first in episode 7 (nothing to hide) which he met matt when audrey (FBI) brings matt in because they found a radiated body which they find teds finger print (FBI thinks this is Sylar cause he has no real MO). They find matt in the hospital because his wife has cancer.

or maybe internet girl (does she actually have a name? LOL)

Hana Gitelman and she has been featured more in the graphic novels then the show.

Isn't the bridge the Bixby Bridge near Big Sur?

That was something that was bothering me: sure didn't look like Odessa TX

yes i believe so and the production notes i believe say filmed in Los Angeles and Santa Clarita, California. Not to surprising.

I am also going to also assume that he really DOES NOT need to kill them

Maybe not, but that seems to be the way he gets their powers. He started opening up the other cheerleader before realizing she was the wrong one. I'm just wondering if maybe he didn't accidentally also get the waitress lady's tumor. And how long it will take Mohinder to figure out who he really is.

Also, I think Hiro's Dad knows.

(hoping Lost takes a cue and answers some questions before asking a whole bunch of new ones)

I highly doubt he'd "get a tumor." Sylar's ability is to see how things "tick" and yea all he does is takes a peak in there brains to see how they get there powers.

...
Like somone had mentioned, Sylars ability is to see how things "tick." He doesn't eat brains!

I can't wait till monday.

Wow... I didn't even connect the watch maker part to his ability to figure out powers.

This still leaves how he applies what he learns to himself.

Well, they show her alive in next weeks episode......

Do they really? :p Quite the misdirection.

Great show again tonight. Unlike a lot of shows in a similar vein, they're keeping up the pace, each show reveals enough answers while still opening more doors.

Sorry, that should have been a ;) or a :p cuz something's not right. I'm guessing he probably doesn't have the tumor, but he's definitely got some issues. Guessing there is a toll it's taking, as they alluded too, but as we saw tonight, guess he can still get around. So to speak. Answered one of my questions too, but I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't watched it yet. Lost can definitely take a cue when it comes to answering questions.

April can't come fast enough.

So they can't stop the nuke. I guess there is just evacuating New York...
As we've learned from Terminator 2, "There is no fate but what we make for ourselves."

I suspect the bomb is stopped and the future is altered. But we'll see, I guess.

And I'm very much hoping the shape shifter dies a horrid death.
