So Peter loses his abilities right after the African Precog tells Hiro that using his head and not his abilites will help him more. Can you say "foreshadowing?"

All things considered, pretty good ep. The girl squad story line is pretty useless right now.

I do like Parkman's turtle. I wonder if it has powers?:)

Maybe the synthetic superpowers is a result of coming in contact with some sort of "radioactive ooze". If this "ooze" was accidentally spilled on the turtle it might give it some sort of "mutant ninja" powers. That would be sweet!

Oh and maybe a side effect could be an insatiable appetite for pizza.

BTW, I agree Clair's story line is tired and good call on the forshadowing. Also, with Mr. Patrelli being able to drain the life out of Adam, there's a threat to Clair since she seems to be a key player in a crucial point in the story. Hopefully it will add momentum to Clair's storyline.

Also it's interesting that he, (and his naturally special sons) Peter and Sylar all have the ability of "gaining" other powers though in slightly different manners.

I don't think Claire will die like Adam did, I think he just aged 400 years when Patrelli took his power.

Now the question is, does Mr. Patrelli now have "The Hunger?"

i'm getting tired of claire's storyline. it's becoming a disease of the week storyline, i want something new to this and for it to go somewhere.

and about mr. petrelli's powers, it's another problem, too many repeating powers that are similar in tone.

i thought at first his power was to absorb the life force of others into his own, similar to some other villains i've seen before. at the end, i realized that he just took other people's powers and gave it to himself. i wonder if he can do this in reverse, i.e., he gave his crew their powers to begin with to carry out his plan.

Even if he does, he's probably strong enough to control it, even better than future Sylar. Also, I believe Peter is now cured of "the Hunger," at least for now.

i think of sylar as more of a recovering drug addict that found a way to control his addiction for powers somehow and reformed himself.

and btw, what did mohinder do to nathan and tracy in the first place? where is that plot going?

did anyone like the hiro comedy bit with him getting hit of the shovel? i did.

I did:p

Hiro needs more moments like that. I feel he's the comedy relief (though he was the one to save them all in Season 1 + 2, just appearing randomly at the end and dispatching the villains)

That would be cool, but probably won't happen, since they all have power anyway. What I want to know is why Big Daddy Petrelli wanted Matt since his power is exactly that of his father, who already works for him. I don't get it. I think Big Petrelli's true power is that he steals and collects the powers of others, unlike Rouge, who (correct me if I'm wrong) could only use them if she was touching said person.

I really want to know what the deal with Mohinder is too! What the hell is wrong with him and when are we going to find out what's happening to him?

I like the Hiro story line as well. The bit with the shovel was funny.

From the Wikipedia
Rogue possesses the mutant ability to absorb psyches and abilities of individuals or several beings at once, though the experience can be confusing and disorienting for her. Rogue can absorb the memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being (or members of some sentient alien races) through physical contact of her skin with the skin of that person (some times she also duplicates in herself gross physical characteristics of her victim). The victim's abilities and memories are absorbed for a one second to 60 second ratio of contact. The victim loses those abilities and memories for exactly the amount of time that Rogue possesses them. In the case of super-powered individuals, she also absorbs any extra abilities they might possess. This absorption usually leaves its victim weakened, and sometimes unconscious. Their powers may also be temporarily weakened or removed. Rogue cannot touch another human being without absorbing their memories, abilities, and superhuman powers (if any) and rendering them unconscious. However, evidence suggests that Rogue's inability to control her powers is psychological in nature. During the times when the Ms. Marvel personality would overtake her psyche, she was able to touch people without any absorption occurring. This fact has not been reconciled since.[15]
This transfer is usually temporary, lasting for a period of time relative to how long contact is maintained, but if Rogue holds on to her victim for too long, the transfer may become permanent, leaving the victim dead. Most often this process happens instantly when Rogue touches someone, but certain extraordinarily powerful beings have proven resistant to Rogue's power, and she may only share part of their memories and power.
As Rogue is absorbing the total psyche of a person, there is a risk of a personality overwhelming her and taking control of her body. It has also been shown that even though Rogue forgets the memories she has absorbed when a psyche returns to its body, remnants, or 'echoes', of the personalities of victims whose memories she has absorbed remain buried in her subconscious indefinitely.
Better than anything I could read, seems Mr. Petrelli just takes powers (and chooses to, because Mrs. Petrelli still has her power).

Mohinder might be a key. He wants to get rid of this affliction and Mr. Petrelli has the ability to remove abilities from another. Quite possibly Petrelli will take Mohinder's ability and save Mohinder by accident and transform himself in the process.

Like I said, unlike Rouge. I don't think The Big P took Angela's power, I think he just put her in a coma somehow. Besides, I always thought that when Angela actually saw her husband, it was in one of her dream jawns. Now that you mention it, Petrelli could take Mohinder's "power" ridding him of his self inflicted curse. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I have to say it; I love this show so much more now than last year. This one hour (with commercials, no less!) often makes up for the crap that happened during the day. I don't know what I'm going to do when it goes on break.

I doubt it, since Nathan had to be given his powers by that Doctor bloke.
I'm a little interested to see how Peter/Nathans dad ended up in that bed, paralysed.

Just speculation, but probably the crew of old Hero's that we know of, Hiro's Dad, Mrs. Patrelli, Linderman, and Adam plus probably everyone associated with "The Company" put him there. We know Adam was terrified as soon as he saw him because the fear4strength guy got strong. Parkman's Dad was with that team at one time (remember the photgraph), but must have been turned to Mr. Paterlli's side somehow. Just a guess... Tune in for the next 15 weeks to find out!:D

Well, he probably was needed for something at Pinehearst (is that how you spell it?) and in an attempt to fake his death, something went horribly wrong... duh duh DUH! So anyways, we'll probably find out soon.

I know you're trying to be silly, but I think Tim Kring has protected against something like that; this volume is only like 12 or 13 episodes, while the forth volume will comprise the rest of the season. So we should (hopefully) find out in less time than that.

I love the Hiro plot line. It has all of the witty jokes. :p

Introducing Daphne into the plot line was a great choice. She adds a bit of flair to Hiro's usual "save the world" actions. I thought that they would fall in love if Matt Parkman didnt have that vision. :)

That's good to know. Don't think I'd carry on watching if they dragged out this story arc for another 15 episodes. Maybe I'm just being British but I like the quicker paced plots... give me resolution dammit :D

I crack up everytime he says "Hello, nemesis" :)

The shovel gag was hilarious!

I love the show and Season 3 is good, not great. They set the bar so high with season 1, it may be hard for them to get back to that level.

The show just keeps getting better for me. Though I will say it needs a "reboot" of sorts next season (e.g. get rid of half the cast).

Aaaaand I got a HDTV yesterday so now I will get to watch Heroes in HD monday! :D

Ooh, Heroes in HD is great. Which brings me to my next point; nobody tell me what happens tonight, I'm going to be busy watching the World Series (GO PHILLIES!). Hopefully, The Pirate Bay will have it within two hours of it coming on. Who am I kidding, of course it will be. And if anyone yells at me for pirating, just shut up. It's a television show, the only other way to watch it is on NBC, which still doesn't cost anything and no one is suffering if I pirate it.

By the way, I do know that to not find out what happens all I have to do is not check this thread until I watch the episode. I'm just being faceous (which I have no idea how to spell). I'm just a little giddy about the World Series tonight, is all.

Is it just me or is the writing getting worse?

Sounds like it. Mohinder hasn't been given a reason to want powers other than "omfg powers!" An easy way out of that would have been for him to mention that ever since his father died he has dreamed of a way to fight sylar on his own grounds. I guess they alluded to that, but did he even know Sylar was still alive until this point?

I'm glad they're killing off supers (Parkman's dad) but now that Mr. Petrilli has Peter's powers, couldn't he just kill his subordinates? Does he not need them anymore? Especially the dotty speedster. I mean he killed Mr. Parkman with no sweat when he mouthed off at him - now that Mr. Petrilli can do everything, why does he need everyone else?

And why hasn't he gotten "The Hunger?" And why is Sylar so special? Is it because he modified his powers? His powers isn't the ability to take other powers - but to know how things work (intuition). He might be needed to explain how powers work... and Mr. Petrilli doesn't want to lose the ability by taking it from Sylar (remember Peter had to be taught how to use it). Well, that might explain how the "Hunger" hasn't manifested in Mr. Petrilli... and why he doesn't need Sylar's power. He might just need to see him use his "clockmaker's" ability and be able to learn how to use it...

it's not just you, i said this the past few weeks about sloppy writing. in fact, my brother said that he didn't understand the mind games being played by parkman and son (sylar's dream with angela and matt seemingly dead). he thinks the writers are just intentionally confusing viewers now.

i like the fact that they are killing off some, but i don't want all of them to be killed off and turn into a giant mess of confusion tv.

no show next week though.

Heroes needs to hurry up and tie up some of its many loose ends. I'm getting a bit frustrated that with every passing week, there's something "new" being introduced to the story line without any wrap-up of the show's previous problems.

I fear Heroes is going the way of Lost....few answers, too many questions. There are too many arcs...Mohinder, Claire, Nathan & Nikki, Peter, Ando & Hiro, Parkman/Daphne, Sylar, HRG/Claire's real mom, Angela Petrelli, Mr. Petrelli and subordinates....
-----
BTW, I hope that was the last of Maya. She can go wherever Micah, Wes, Irish love interest of Peter from Season 2 and random New Orleans chick are....and stay there.
