It's unpredictability has become predictable.

I'm getting tired of the who's a villain and vice versa. At first I was like, the mother is a bad person. No wait it's Mohinder. Now it's the father. But wait, I bet that the father will turn out good in the end.

And the supposed/fake killing of Parkman and pushing Peter out the window was not at all shocking. We know they still live so why even make itty bitty commercial cliffhangers like those. It's all predictable.

Oh, and I am sort of tired of Hiro and his "I have to save the world" speeches. JUST DO IT.

rant over.

I don't know, I still like Heroes. I agree, it's gotten a little strange in the last few episodes, but I think the next episode will start to bring it all together and make it all good again.

I don't doubt they will. I just find the middle sections of Heroes to be quite dull, it's as if they have a good start - like who will be there, what their stance on X, Y, Z is. And a good ending. It's just getting to the end that is their problem.

And writers strikes never helped much!

Well, of course the writer's strike was no good, but the first season was excellent the whole way through. Also, sometimes I look back on the second season and I realize at about halfway through, it actually got quite good. Now, we're just experiencing a few dull episodes. Personally, I like the whole Peter Sylar interactions. For instance, Sylar rescuing Peter, Peter rescuing Sylar, etc. Also, Peter without powers is kind of cool, in my opinion.

Well I was hoping for some continuation of the story, since they've only got 3 episodes left in this mini series (right?). Suppose it was nice having a Lost style flashback to everything though but I can't help shake the feeling this episode was made just for the writers to show off their intertangly story bits.
And a crying bloody shame that the shaman chap was killed.

Also looks like heroes will be able to get their powers back after daddy Petrelli has taken them... A future, time travelling Hiro is agiven thanks to series 1.

Yeah, but we all know the future isn't set, it keeps changing. I do feel bad that Usutu died. I really like the backstory on Sylar though, even though I really hated the kid Elle made him kill. Plus, when Thompson released Meredeth and you see Claire running into the fire, I was amazed that Thompson had a heart and that the whole scene was done so well. Good job.

I'm curious to why the writers didn't show Sylar getting one of his more commonly used powers. What did that chap do? Blast air out of his finger? I was thinking that would be where Sylar got his head slicing power but it turned out he could already do that?

And yea... Maybe I'm too used to Doctor Who :D where time is more or less fixed. Ah well! Roll on next week. I can't wait to see how this ends, what with that exciting cliff hanger (btw, wonder how daddy Petrelli knew about Hiro and his trance?).

i think the head sawing thing is established as part of telekinesis, making an invisible blade, or moving the skin and underlayers in the head to cut it open, which is kinda gross when you think about it. i thought the part where elle has to choose between sylar and the company was a bit interesting, but she gave into the pressure instead of helping sylar, and ironically, bennet made the monster.

i liked the part with meredith saying that flint got a big sister instead of a brain. i liked that story a little bit.

the episode was interesting, but didn't have that punch i was looking for. it felt like the obligatory flashback episode instead. there is still not alot of direction here, but i think we'll get that next week (i hope).

I agree that was a strange choice. I still don't understand that person's power.

Overall, I enjoyed the flashback episode because it gave more depth to the story and the characters.

Hiro always brought a funny and light-hearted aspect to the show and introducing Mr. Petrelli that way is still a shocking change. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Oh no. They're changing everything. They've needed to backtrack a year for the new story lines to make any sense. That's not good and I don't think it bodes well for the future of the show.

Now we're suddenly supposed to like Sylar, Angela Patrelli, and Elle? It's too much. One, person becoming good, maybe I'll buy that. But this realignment of good and evil characters has only left me scratching my head. They didn't need to do this to make the stories interesting.

Oh well... Battlestar G's getting closer and closer...

I don't understand what that guy did either; in all honesty, it was kind of a stupid power (it didn't help that I hated how that kid looked, he was such a poser). I wanted them to show the person he got his freezing power from, that would have been much better. Also, I agree with what someone else said, the head slicing thing is just a manifestation of his telekinesis.

Did someone in the episode say that Slylars power is basically the ability to transfer power? If so I can imagine everything being easily resolved by having Sylar "transfer" back everyones power from daddy Petrelli.

(btw, wonder how daddy Petrelli knew about Hiro and his trance?).

Well he can read minds, he sent Hiro to get Usutu and probably just went to go check what was taking so long and read Usutu's mind. Either that or he used Peter's precog ability to see it. How is it that both precogs have died so easily though, that's kind of messed up when Hiro couldn't capture Usutu until he wanted to be caught.

I think Claire's father said it. Since Mr. Petrelli is the Big Bad that has to be defeated, Sylar may be tempted not to give back the powers since he'll be the most powerful with Peter and Mr. Petrelli out.

The precogs seem to accept that they can only follow what's going to happen and not change it. He wasn't avoiding Hiro, just following the story he painted. He may have painted his own death. I don't recall if there has been a painted future that hasn't happened.

We are going to find out that daddy Petrelli is not really in the desert sucking Hiro's mind. Hiro is still in a trance/dream state and he will wake-up. This is my episode cliff-hanger theory.

I really liked it this week. As a matter of fact, I've liked this whole third season so far. It's so much better than season 2 was.

I think anything would have been better than season two, but I think that's mostly to blame on the writer's strike, they were building up to a climax but had to cut it short and lost the climax which made the whole season just feel like you were waiting for something to happen and it never did.

Same. I'm unhappy with some of the writers decisions in series 3 but overall it's much more enjoyable than 2. 1 was incredible and still the Heroes standard they need to match.
IMO of course :)

Tonight's episode was redeeming!

This is the forward direction that the show's creators need to move in. I was getting tired of new questions arising every single week. Next week's ep looks even better!

Dunno how I feel about Sylar at this point. I mean wasn't his power just about understanding how things work? How are they going to explain how he got Elle's power without opening her up to see how she's put together?

And what's with the eclipse? Linderman, Angela, etc all had powers before the eclipse. I think that the eclipse and their powers is kinda weak (even though I felt that should have been the original explanation, not the whole genetics thing)

Mr. Pitrelli told Sylar that he has had the ability all along, he just needed to use the Empathetic part of his brain. Seems like Elle was his training partner.

I found it interesting that Sylar took her power, but she still retained it as well. She also felt better after he took it? Swapped a little empathy for her powers??? Who knows...

I thought it was interesting that Hiro was brought back to a 10 year old. Mr. Pitrelli didn't finish taking his powers, which means Hiro had them prior to being 10 years old... Was born with them?

The painter died last season (Isaac), who is still publishing the Comic Book series?

I also don't buy that Claire has the catalyst to complete the power transformation. I would have thought that Hiro or possibly Ando was the Catalyst. It would give Ando's character a real meaning in the context of the show. He seemed to be too major a character to just be Hiro's friend.

I can see that (Ando being a catalyst), but I'm not sure about Claire being one too. Just seems like another + to her character and she's becoming a bit of a Mary Sue.

Wasn't too keen on this episode. It just all seems too higgelty piggelty, why are they after Claire, why has ice woman befriended daddy Petrelli, who was that chap Mohinder was experimenting on, why is the earth going to split, when did speedy woman fall in love with Parkman, how are Hiro's comics still being produced, why are they breaking Sylar... And what did happen to Peter's Irish bit-on-the-side?
