Interesting that Hiro and Claire were in the same place. Did anyone catch who her real father was? Was that Mr. Petrelli who handed the baby over?

That was Kaito Nakamura and Noah Bennett. They handled this scene in the first season before already. She's the child of Nathan Petrelli and Merideth- nobody knew about Nathan, and when Noah was on a bag-and-tag mission to capture Merideth, the house caught on fire during the battle, Merideth appeared to have been killed/disappeared in the fire, and Noah rescued the baby and took it back to the company. At which point, Kaito told him to adopt it (hence that rooftop scene).

is it just me, or is it a shame that everything is starting to get going right when things are ending? the writers really need to learn how to get things picked up a bit faster.

loved the comic book store and the geeks, they nailed down that stereotype good, especially the nerd reading the books.

i think powers are driven by the power of the sun in some way, thus losing their powers on the day of black sun. i think the eclipse lasted long enough, showed how they were without their powers and saw another side to them.

one more thing: does anyone think sylar has a variation of the shanti virus in him (i.e. the sylar virus) that causes his victims to have power fluctuations?

I've already found him.

You lucky lucky people.
Could I borrow 20 quid?

You still owe me 20 quid from last time.

If it was then why do powers remain at night? Still wondering why they didn't noticed their powers going during previous eclipses.

Excellent. Very predictable. But excellent. But now who is is Sylars dad? And are Peter and Nathan his too? Wish they hadn't opened that can of worms as the series is coming to an end :(

So there's only 1 episode left? Nooo :( Hope it's a double length effort.

OK, I'm an idiot...

I knew that but then I didn't... Getting old sucks! LOL

What happened in the last Minute of the last episode? My DVR stopped recording!

Febuary 2nd!!!! :D

Really good last episode. Ando's power is pretty kickass, as was there way of saving Hiro.

Looking forward to fugitives. And glad for Sylar's death - a new villian is needed anyway.

a bunch of people speculated that ando would have an ability that would enhance others for some time, and i didn't really like the fact that he got a power, but then again, hiro doesn't have his anymore.

talking about abilities, ever notice that super strength and flight seem to be the ones that always come up as the ones the big heroes have (not just on heroes, but in general). i'm wondering if they have the good guys have active abilities (as in ones that can be used in battle) instead of just bad guys having them. it makes the good guys look like losers.

i don't think sylar is dead, but he won't be a major threat for a while i think. sylar doing the opening monologue was a nice touch as well; had the hint of eeriness that mohinder cannot deliver in the message.

i'm starting to think peter is a nut (as in mentally insane) and will probably be the guy in the show that is always teetering on the border of sanity, and set a dividing line between good and bad guys on the show.

quick rant though, i felt the show sometimes tries to be a horror movie, and has been nagging me since the start of the series. i think that element is a hit or miss depending on the viewer, but i think they are doing it more often now (example, severed arm). i'm not a fan of the horror elements, makes the show creep into another genre that it's not, but whatever.

fugitives looks to be a bit x-men ish, but i'll see how things go when it starts. expect lots of promotion during the super bowl, since it airs the day before the new episodes start.

Why are Claires lines getting cheaper? "baby needs a spanking", what?! Just no!

It all seemed a little too Saw-ish, what with Sylar keeping them locked up whilst he toyed with their sins. Shame we never got to know who his parents were. My guess is Noah but that's more random guessing than anything (as well as future Sylar looking after a kid of the same name, possibly naming after his grandfather).
Guess it also shows that Ando didn't kill Hiro in the future, that he was just 'powering him up'. But I don't like giving Ando powers. Mohinder was better without them too.

Don't know what to make of that episode. Wasn't as good as the build up over the last few episodes though, IMO at least.

So, Heroes returned tonight, well yesterday....

Overall, thought the episode was good. I like the consolidated storyline. I'm glad Sylar is back.

Anyone else see it? Thoughts?

I liked it. You can definitely see where the lines have been drawn with the cast of the main characters. I like that there is more conflict between them instead of all of them just going after Sylar. What we didn't see was the person who ended up being blown out of the airplane. This episode does set itself up for their own miniature version of Lost, but overall, very consistent.

As far as humour.. I liked the commercial during the Super Bowl. That was bloody brilliant. I'm waiting for Elway to make an appearance now.. However.. I wonder which ST cast member will make an appearance this season!

BL.

I completely forgot that someone was blown out of the plane. I wonder which character. If I'm not mistaken, that person's goggles/mask was still on, correct?

So, it couldn't have been Hiro or Mohinder. I don't remember if Niki (or whatever her name is) had her mask off. Could it have been Parkman?

Every face that was shown had kept their mask off, my guess is that it was just a "nobody". Given all the people with powers out there it would be surprising if they all already knew each other when on the plane.

I liked that. But in the first few scenes with Claire I couldn't help but look away from her Ronald MacDonald lips :D

Not happy about Sylar coming back for the squillionth time or them making Noah into a bad guy but liked the action and pacing of the episode.

for some reason, this season has failed to spike my interest. i'm thinking it's just first show jitters, but it feels flat. i do like that all of the plotlines were streamlined into 2 (sylar and everyone else) instead of jumping all over the place. i think the show is losing it.

Parkman, and the Nikki/Jessica/whatever this one's name is all had their masks off, so the flyboy was a "nobody" as far as we're concerned. Of course since the government ambushed Sylar at his biological dad's home, and his biological dad probably has powers it could have been him? Anyone else think Sylar's dad's power might be animating inanimate objects? Hence the taxidermy career? Plenty of defenders if someone tries to come by.

And it looks as though Peter is now limited to one power at a time that has to come from whomever he last touched. His old power only required proximity to someone with powers and now relies on touch as well...

Is anyone else disappointed with this chapter of Heroes? I'm not even sure I'm going to continue watching it. It is like the just make this stuff up as they go with no planning. The only character I even care about anymore is Sylar. I loved his line to Luke in this week's episode. "I didn't kill you, and that's kind of big deal for me."

This show is dying a slow death. It is dead last in the ratings. This is probably the last season. It is kinda sad since at one time it was a good show. I can't see NBC keeping this on the air much longer since they are now competing with the CW for last place on Monday night.

Here is a link to the monday ratings.

I don't know what to make of it. I like Sylar being partnered up with a kid, reminds me of X-Men in a way with Magneto gathering his cronies.

IMO it should have just been 1 series. The first was so brilliant. I think they took it too far in giving/taking powers.

How many times can they milk the "someone's after the Heroes, both sides have Heroes working for them, let's keep it somewhat ambiguous as to who the good and bad guys are" plot lines?
