But many of those articles said that many companies complained about the policy, not just Google and Adobe.

Read the titles again, or maybe you need more articles. Do you guys ever let it go when you're wrong? Five minutes ago "the meat" was not Adobe, so hundreds of articles naming only Adobe in the title mean nothing right? Oh boy. Just so you understand: I do not care what you think since you started to play hardball. What I care is all the people who read this thread and are not fanatics, they will get it.

Where did you see any other company complaining for the European Commission? Google was a separate investigation with the FTC, they broke Apple open and constrained them to approve Google Voice. I would have paid to see Steve's face when that news came. Have you ever thought that FTC might do the same with Flash?

Just so you know, you are no more objective on this subject than I, the fanatic, am. So people reading this will surely take that into account.

That being said, you are right and I am wrong. Is that what you need to hear?

Congratulations, you won the internet fight.

Enjoy your MBP and iPhone. And I'll continue enjoying my flash-free life.

To everyone who says "Ewww keep that off of my phone blah blah blah", what if they included a toggle switch under settings that was set to off by default. There...everyone is happy.

This was never a debate.

Please, mods, lock this thread now, so that the Adobe apologist who insists on acting like a churl, calling people "liars" and other unsubstantiated deprecations, can get some sleep.

Oh really??!! Let's take one of the many examples, I am sure you all know Simon Fuller, the creator of a pretty popular franchise call Idol, also know as “American Idol” in the US. Well, he created last year a new web based series entirely based on Flex and Flash. Simple and straight: no one on the iPhone and iPad were able to enjoy it, www.ificandream.com was displaying a “sorry you can't view this on your device”. No HTML version, no alternative, nothing, nada, niet. Here is a snapshot, the whole house was rendered in 3D and you were able to just switch cam and turn the house around and do stuff nobody every seen before. There is no way in hel;l HTML5 can deliver not now, not in 5 years. Don't challenge me on this! THERE IS NO WAY.
Ok, so there are some websites that do that. Just looked at the site, not missing much. But that is my opinion, others my disagree. But pointing out a handful of flash only sites doesn't prove that HALF of the web is flash. Yes, there may be sites that you can't visit, but that is up to each individual to determine if it is a problem for them or not.

So, maybe you only care about video and live in 1990's but in today's web you just cannot get the full experience nor the full web on the iPhone, period. You guys can go on and on and on, everyone with an iDevices hit the wall of stuff they can not see every single day.

You're obviously wrong here. I haven't hit things I couldn't do in many many months. Since I'm a person, the word EVERYONE cannot be used. Since it is your opinion, or guess, how many are getting stuck it is not a fact. Thus even saying MOSTLY everyone could be wrong. I fact, from your earlier post about #1 complaint, that since 90+% are satisfied with the iPad (iPhone was not listed there and may not apply) it would seem like it isn't affecting as many people as you think. But then again, that is just pulling information from limited sources. But at least there is some evidence of it; unlike making claims with no evidence.

No they do not, customers do not give a damn about Apple's business and corporate agenda. Stock holders do but customers do not give a damn about stock holders neither. They want a product that is not limited and they do not want to compromise. As you said many time, they will simply not buy the phone. The first generation of users got screwed because they did not know better but now it is a different story. Apple will do good don't take me wrong, but as good as Macintosh, not as good as Windows!

Consumers care, they just don't actively or knowingly care. They care in the sense that they use their wallet to vote on how much they are.. so far; evidence shows, that they really do not care about missing flash.

Flash will do as good as Windows. Actually Flash will do better, it will do on mobile same as it did itself on computers. Nothing you, Apple or Steve Jobs can do about it.

Again an opinion stated as fact. In YOUR opinion you think it will do that well. Often people on the inside of something (in this case being a Flash developer puts you into the center of the Flash community and life) often cannot see what others are seeing from the outside. This is not you; but a very common problem. A few years ago I worked at a company that thought LUA would destroy Perl, Java and Python for desktop scripting -- it didn't. It has it's place. Over the last 30 years I've heard that every language is the new language that will revolutionize the world and that every one of those languages will die a horrible death. Almost every proponent was wrong and almost every doom sayer was wrong; almost every language has it's place. Remember folks, LISP will be the ultimate language because it is the one that will bring AI to every computer in the world. I had to make it though that class (although I kinda ended up liking LISP.)

Do I think Flash will go away? Nope. Do I think it will grow to be as big as you think? Nope. Will it have it's place? Sure. Will there be things that will show up that will make it not nice for iOS people? Sure. Will it really be a big deal for the masses? Maybe, maybe not.

But pointing out a handful of flash only sites doesn't prove that HALF of the web is flash.

I never said that, if you are trying to say I claimed half the web is flash then you are a liar too.

You're obviously wrong here.

Thank you for sharing your personal opinion with us.

Good for you, the whole industry but Apple does:

Leading CEOs discuss Open Screen Project -- CEOs from ARM, Broadcom, DoCoMo, Google, HTC, Intel, Motorola, NVIDIA, Palm, QUALCOMM, RIM, and STMIcroelectronics talk about how theyre bringing Flash Platform technologies to their devices and platforms. Um... what? If it gets locked are you going to create a new thread and replicate every post? This thread is just ridiculous.

This thread will get down Google, get indexed and will show up in search results over the matter, if it is not on this domain it will be on another one. You did not think I spent all that time bringing some light just to have a chat with you, did you?

From post #309 : flexengineer said:

So who is the liar?

Thank you for sharing your personal opinion with us.
Because I don't try to make my opinion come across as fact.

I thought that name calling and inflammatory accusations are criteria for a swift ban/time-out, yet this guy has been spouting "liar," "liar," "liar" for pages now.

What gives?

Seriously, this is starting to border on delusion: like everyone in this thread is trying to silence you.

Feel free to post it on your blog, but everyone here is tired of reading it.

You made a claim, I called you on it, you were wrong. Clear as day and yet you can't even admit that.

Absolutely not, I never, ever said Flash is half the web. I said Apple's customers do not pay big bucks to get half the experience. It is an idiom. You keep trying to put words in my mouth and it ain't gonna happen.

Post #334, the 3rd request to shut this off or remove it that I can remember.

Enjoy double-speak do you. Okdokey, then basically no one can believe anything you have to say.

Good day, not worth talking to someone who will try to do anything to cover his own butt.

if I am censured I will take this to the media.
Flexengineer : Oh noes, broke the rules in a private forum, and got in trouble!

Media 1 : ...

Media 2 : ...

Media 3 : ... where there goats involved, or other animals?

If you say that not getting flash is "half the experience of the web" then you are saying it's half the web.

Flexengineer : Oh noes, broke the rules in a private forum, and got in trouble!

I know I did not break the rules other than multiple post and link to my blog (did not know I have to put it in signature nd did not know we can comment multiple posts), I double checked with the admin therefore if this thread disappear it is not because I broke the rules. Only in your mind. As I said, this thread will get down Google, get indexed and show up in search results over Apple and Flash matter, if not here, somewhere else.

And sorry for being stupid with the media thing, I just signed up for this website yesterday and stupidly thought it was operated by Apple. If it was, Techcrunch would have loved a crispy stupid story "Some Flex dude brings some light, Apple shuts it off". But this site has nothing to do with Apple, silly me!

No I am not, I said Apple's customers do not pay big bucks to get half the web experience. Here, Google it for Christ's sake:

http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q="half+the+experience"

IT IS AN IDIOM. And you are trouble makers trying to put words in my mouth again, and again, and again thinking you will just drawn my points in BS. It ain't gonna happen.

I'm just saying that complaing about having a private forum - which is basically any on the web, excluding government owned sites, and even there I could see some if someone was being foul mouthed - Apple-oriented or not, owned by Apple or not (This is not a site owned by apple although it's Apple-oriented) censure you is silly. It's not like you're having your rights trampled on - you don't have rights here other than what the site gives/promises.

Fair enough. But rights or not I will stand for myself no matter what and I can get damn resourceful, I did not say I would sue this forum lol

flexengineer, you're still at this after 3 days!? I'll give you one thing, that's some serious commitment.

Yup, that's how I roll. One year of research, if anyone wants to prove me wrong he or she going to have to deliver more than personal opinion over my character or words put in my mouth to drawn the fish in the water.

Sorry, you just made me snort. My wife is now looking at me funny. :D

LOL I did not know what snort meant (ESL here), thanks I learn a new word ha, actually I learned quite a few new words over the past 3 days :) Got to love social media.

Edited: Changed my moral judgement...

It was kind of funny, I got it by email, but that would be attacking me personally when I am just making an informed point over a matter in direct connection with the topic of this thread.
