What? It was a serious question. I'm sorry if it was answered earlier, but I don't have time to read through 600 posts

If the iMac Dock rumor is true then my money is on a DisplayPort, which would nicely send video and audio to the dock. If you zoom in on the photo you can see (not very clearly, mind you) that the shape is like HDMI on the left and vertical on the right (looking from above as in the photo). This best matches DisplayPort IMHO.
Uh, not possible
If you look closely you'll see the indentation on the lower left isn't really there; it's a reflection on the inside of the port. It's symmetrical.
why couldnt you write backup files to a blu ray? seriously?...
not the actual program...just the backup files...
so time machine could write to blue ray...well i dont think they would do it anyway since they seem to be moving away from disks just a comment![]()
Assuming that BluRay is closed after a writing session, what would not work is the incremental backup portion of the backup, i.e. the main distinguishing part of TimeMachine versus other backup solutions.

Ethernet versus FireWire poll still open (currently 57% prefer FireWire, but ultimately keeping both would be great ;-) )
This seems to put the rumors of a "glass" trackpad to rest. The size of those in the photos looks to be about the same size as the Macbook Air trackpad.
I just read all 733 or whatever posts, and I think in my honest opinion about the ALLEGED (some people are forgetting that....) Photos...
- The covered port on the front left side with tape is an HDMI port or a card reader.

That's like asking if you'd rather be without an arm or a leg. Audio users need both. FW for interfaces obviously. But to use Logic Pro's distributed processing you need gigabit ethernet. That's not going to work with a dongle.
The only thing is, if you look at the trackpad slot for the Pro, it looks like there's some extra reinforcement.

Would people PLEASE look at the picture of the MBP before repeatedly making this statement? It would appear that there is both an ethernet port and a FW800 port. Considering the fact that Apple themselves make Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro, I think it would be an absurd omission.
It's probably too small for mini-dvi (current mini-dvi is 33% higher than USB port, and twice as high as a jack, while that one is barely as high as a usb port, unless the usb ports are freaky with some kind of huge padding it doesn't match), but a googling master uncovered documents talking of a mini-displayport created for apple by a chinese company, that might fit: displayport is compatible with dual-link dvi, so it would work out for the MBPs losing full-size DVI, and the suggested MCP7A platform has powerful enough integrated graphics abilities to handle it on the macbook (without the need for a discrete gpu). Thanks for pointing that out. I zoomed in and yes it does look like a reflection. So it's symmetrical like on the bigger laptop. Is there a consensus about what this is? A redesigned dual-link mini-dvi?
The firewire removal being discussed is that of the MacBook line, not of the MBP (also note that the MBP loses its FW400 port compared to the current line).Would people PLEASE look at the picture of the MBP before repeatedly making this statement? Maybe it has something to do with the multitouch gestures.
Looks great! Very thin. Glad they did away with the latch. ENOUGH LEAKS though I want a nice surprise on Tuesday...Let's Rock was very predictable and I hope this event doesn't turn out the same way. Apple needs to do a better job keeping everything secured. Back in the day we had no idea when and what would be announced and now it's just gotten ridiculous.

Of course this is only speculation.
