Hm. I kinda don't like it to be honest. Sound is meh. Siri useless (that was expected). And there's significant lag when trying to watch a movie lipsynched. I'll have to keep it (Apple doesn't allow returns here) but wouldn't recommend it to others.
Are you sure your HomePod is not broken? Mine doesn’t have any lag issue watching movies (both from Apple TV or Air Playing)

A missed opportunity would have been a battery built-in with Magsafe charging. I would easily pay $149 per unit.

Currently I have five HomePods and two Mini's on the way. Last thing I want is having devices that I need to worry about charging. And then dealing with batteries that lose capacity over the years. Especially as mine will rarely move from where they are now.

No thanks. That would be a purchase deal-breaker.

Need a cheap portable battery powered speaker? There are loads of them out there. Pick one and move on.

So I guess I should receive mine sometime this week.

Waiting on my Pro Max made me forget about this.

I strongly suggest you don't upgrade to 14.2 as Handoff seems to be broken or certainly not as responsive as it finally became under 14.1.
Not sure if related but I can't airplay anything when they're setup as stereo. But can individually.

Couldn’t agree more. Sound is so meh, really surprised by the positive reviews. Wasn’t expecting thump bass or anything like that, but it sounds so...anaemic.

Defo not real...

I preordered it on the 6th and the delivery date is the 24th but as it’s available in store pick up Im considering canceling the order. I used a gift card as part payment, would I lose that if I cancel it or will it be refunded.

It's so slick, love that you can tap the iPhone 12 on it, like magic.

Also, the bottom of the HomePod (the stand underneath) looks a bit like AirTags......
You can still tap older iPhone's on the top of HomePod to transfer music... I was a bit confused about the selling point of doing it with an iPhone 12 in particular with U1 chip. Seems it perhaps transfers the music more quickly? but just in case it helps anyone, iPhone 12 isn't required for the transfer of music from device to HomePod.

Ummm no it doesn’t. That’s not a charger. There are no batteries in HomePod. That’s a plug.
Talk about pedantic.

iPhone 12 doesn't come with a plug, HomePod Mini does come with a plug. Is that better for you now?

Hope you felt sooo smart with your clever reply 😴

Yeah, but it is very finicky. Without the ultra-wideband chip of the iPhone 11 and 12, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But yeah, it's not that the feature is new, like all the YouTube videos make it out to be.

I ordered 2 HomePod Minis in the UK on pre-order day. Initially they were due to arrive on Wednesday 18th, but last night I got shipping confirmation and they arrived first thing this morning! A nice surprise!

Sounds quality is very good - not to the level of the standard HomePod of course, but that is expected. The volume was what surprised me most at first - very loud for the size of it and no distortion at high volume.

I got two to add to my HomePod and have all three in different rooms. Very impressed at the speed and ease that you can share music throughout selected rooms.

I have the previous generation Echo dot to compare to and HomePod Mini is in a completely different league (as you would hope for twice the price).

So far so good!
