I’m confused does stereo support need airplay 2, so far the beta stereo homepod support is mega laggy and not good, I thought for stereo support you need airplay 2

No, clearly not, as evidenced by iTunes/Music supporting HomePod stereo pairs since before Airplay 2.

We are talking about Music here, but there's a lag in both. Showing that the Mac still does not support AirPlay 2.

So what does that mean? That Apple will enable AirPlay 2 for macs with Big Sur 11.3? If not, how is it going to pair up with a dual HomePod mini set up?

Not true airplay 2 is needed for multi speaker audio and it was used for stereo homepods

Can you clarify, does HomePod mini have airplay 2 hardware or not?
does airplay from MacBook Pro to HomePod mini work in sync or is it poor and has lag?

Airplay 2 is in the speakers and the software with macos it’s always been airplay 1 unless you use the music app or iTunes, apple it’s macos 11.3 airplay 2 is supported but there are airplay issues and lag so far

Cause it’s in many third party speakers apple wouldn’t make it with out it, it’s all about the software and for multiple audio devices like stereo you need airplay 2

I see, So basically any audio from a mac will be with a delay? delay is with a single homepod mini too or just with stereo?
Does anyone think we will be able to use the mic from a HomePod if we have it connected to macOS big sir ?
This would be super nice (for me) to output all sounds to HP mini, and use the mic for work etc.

Lag is the same for system out. About three seconds. Oddly there's no lag in Music anymore.
Stupid HomePod mini is still spannering with working perfectly as a stereo pair. I'm still having it decide to suddenly switch from audio out of both, to just the left for a few seconds, then normal then just to the right for 20 seconds. This is when natively streaming from Podcasts or Music.
