Stupid question, but will pickup be ready as soon as the stores open? Or do you have to sit and twiddle your thumbs until the email comes in later in the day.
Do you know if there is a deductible for accidental damage? I am debating getting it.
Thank you. I think I'm going to stick with the extended warranty offered by the credit card company. I have a little three years old Tasmanian devil living at home, but she's mostly focused on abusing my xbox elite controller at the moment. She can't reach the Echo yet and that's where the HomePod is going.
Most of the other products have had a scheduled window on the day of. I’m pretty sure in this case we can go as soon as the store opens. We will all get notifications of “Ready for Pick-Up” before then most likely, probably 1-2 hours before your store opens.
Good to know, thanks. Getting on a plane at noon (store opens at 9), so really hoping I can be there at 9 and be on my way soon after.
Worst case, you walk out with a unit for walk-in customers. I'm sure they'll have a few in stock esp since you'll be there at opening anyway.
Just received notification that it has been dispatched via DPD, which is great as DPD has drop tracking, so you can see exactly where you are on the drivers route.
Mine had also dispatched with DPD
(much prefer them to UKMail!)Now the HomePod has dispatched you can get the serial number by following the Print Invoice link.
By entering the serial number on this website I can see mine was made in production week 2 in 2018 in the Foxconn factory, China.

Our in store collections won’t update until this evening/early tomorrow most likely. We miss out on dispatch notifications and we’ll just get our ready for pickup email when the store has allocated stock.

As they are stating on the front page, US customers expecting delivery may not show as shipped but a search on the UPS site using your delivery address phone number (no dashes) will show they have shipped. Mine left Harrisburg, PA yesterday evening via overnight. Even though shipped overnight, delivery is being delayed (by Apple as expected) till Friday.
