I won a bet with my boss, he said he'd get me one if I do [a project] in a timeframe that he thought was impossible. :D

But I've decided to put a few quid further towards it to get the SS instead.

"With my money" doesn't appear to be an option. Why assume that everyone can't afford this watch?

Saved cash + $200 Apple Gift Card. I'll be putting it on my Amex for the miles and then paying it as soon as the charge clears.

I'm pretty strict about my finances, and my friends and coworkers refer to me as stingy because I'm always calculating costs and rarely impulse buy. But every week or so, if I don't use all my "spending cash", I'll take some of what's left over and put it in a lockbox, to use on a 'rainy day'. There's roughly $1000 in there currently, so I'll take a chunk out of it to buy an Apple Watch, if I decide to get one (still unsure!)

I wouldn't put it on my credit card, not because I think it's a sin to charge stuff but just because I HATE having one extra bill to pay at the end of the month.

I use my credit card for EVERYTHING then pay it off. I'm using my current allotment of CC airline miles for two first class tickets from Hawaii to Europe in May. One of the reasons I can afford the watch right before the trip is that the air cost me nothing. I manage to get a serious trip from miles every two or three years.

I WAS thinking of taking a small dent from it with my big jar of loose change because the coinstar machines don't take a percentage cut if you get an itunes gift card but don't want to take the time to enter two separate charges while preordering. Any extra transaction at the moment the floodgates open could delay my purchase long enough to push me WAY down in the queue.

The poll results have shown me one thing.

You are all financially responsible people and I'm proud of you. :)

None of the above. Got an Apple Store gift card from my kids for Christmas for part of the expense and just earned some money from a business survey to cover the rest. I'm going with the space gray sport with black band, Can't see paying more than that for a watch that may be replaced in 1-2 years. Maybe then I'll go higher.

I'll probably sell a kidney.
Or I participate in ResearchKit and test some unapproved drugs ;)

"Your pale green skin will match the sport band perfectly!"

Uhh... my paycheck? :) which I guess you could consider savings but really it is coming out of my checking account (well paid for with a CC though, then CC paid with checking account)

I'm older and established, could buy an Edition with what I have in checking and not notice it...

Seems silly to hold money not for normal monthly expenses in at least a savings account although savings account interest rates aren't great. I try not to hold more than a certain amount in my interest checking account and move it over when it reaches a certain theshold. Maybe you should get a financial advisor who can help you with this :p

Considering acting as if I'm homeless and starving...use that money to get me an Apple Watch EDITION.

Been saving since they made the first announcement, which was around the time of my birthday. My mother has now said that she'll buy me one for my second birthday (2 years in remission). (Yay Mom!)

My tax return is funding my Apple Watch. Hopefully I get the return in time for the preorder!

I ALMOST have enough for the 42mm SS! I'll get paid in two weeks, so that'll give me enough to preorder on the 10th :D I CANT WAIT! I've been penny pinching for the past month to save up lol

From my savings/do what you want account. Would never buy toys on credit. Could buy the edition, but will go with the black sport. Can't justify spending more on a watch I don't know if I'm going to like.

If I like it, and can integrate it into my daily life, I'll buy the black steel in 2. or 3. generation.

going to take out a line of credit morgage on my house and buy the most expensive gold watch/band combination.....

but really: buying on credit card for the cash back bonus points, then paying off the bill as i do every month.

Please complete that sentence. How did you make your fortune?

Apple's best product is it's stock :)

It's made me hundreds of thousands of $.

One of the docs I work with has a split adjusted cost of $2 a share of Apple stock, I'm around $10/share.

I've been keeping a small savings fund going since September for this purchase. Additionally, for any family that was understanding enough I asked for cash/Apple gift cards in lieu of any other Christmas presents this year. My in-laws said they felt "bad" not getting me anything I could "open" on Christmas, but I thanked them and assured them that money toward an Apple Watch was an excellent gift. I'll be sure to send them a thank you card for their Christmas present 4 months after Christmas. :)

That's really cool. Good on your Mom for doing that. :)

As for me the money is coming out of my savings which is essentially part of my disposable income.

Happy Second Birthday - that's wonderful. ;)

If you pay it off quickly, and/or get a zero interest offer, then you're actually doing yourself a favor by building up your credit. I use credit all the time; I'm just responsible with it and never pay any interest or over-extend myself.

That's my plan. I mostly keep my credit card paid off but I like to throw something on there now and again for credit and air miles. :D
