Like I said in another thread, it's cool that now in the offseason, curiosity for the competition dominates discussions, so it's kinda OK.

We just don't appreciate it when people ignore the glaring dominance Apple has and act like its just another competitor. It's like a paradigm shift belittling the respect Apple deserves and is an attitude we don't see eye to eye with on Android users.

I disagree that there is a glaring dominance, or maybe I just don't quit understand where you are coming from. Does Apple get the championship belt for having made the most profit? For having the most tablet market share? Because as it stands, those are the only two measurable statistics where Apple can be viewed as dominating. Everywhere else, the competitor is either glaringly ahead, or just about tied. This is a free market. Apple IS just another competitor and I would venture to say that many of the features of current a future idevices is due directly to their competition. It's how that is supposed to work.

To us iOS is still way ahead of the competition in the details (important ones too) and we don like it when you guys phrase your sentences and paragraphs in passive aggressive ways implying that that is not true.

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but the mud slinging has come from both sides of the fence. It has not only been "the Android side". In fact, some of it has been from you. So it's not that there is an issue with devoted Apple fans. It's that there is an issue with people calling those trying to have a discussion about an opposing product names. And yes, that happens in every single thread I have seen discussing iOS versus a competing OS.

Respect that the opinion here is biased as such and stop attacking us for beig apple lovers on our own turf. I respect that you have a more neutral and non-loyal stance but respect the fact we don't see it that way.

This isn't a gang, or at least I hope it isn't. This is just a little piece of the internet that the mods have deemed was ok for discussion of OS's in direct competition with iOS. So let's stop this "turf" business. As I said, I frequent Android forums (and to a MUCH more limited extent Windows forums) and there are iOS discussions there too. And they are welcomed. There is no turf.

And stop making fun of me too.

Your sensationalistic views and choice of vocabulary makes you an easy target. Probably not what you want to hear, but it's honest.

Sounds great but I wonder if the long 4" screen will catch on(if true)

I think so if they can keep the overall dimensions close. By moving vertically they also remove the issue of resolution because the OS can center 960-640 UI without it looking too jarring.

I'm not missing out on anything with iOS. I've had 3 different android phones and they've all been laggy, unstable in regards to the OS and battery life, inconsistent in performance, and ludicrous in regards to app selection and quality.

Who cares if I can't add widgets or theme my device? Most themes look pretty ugly to me anyway and the widgets just suck up battery life. I'd rather go into the app to use it. iOS is smooth, provides great battery life, consistent performance, is very very stable, has good customer support from Apple, and has a high quality and large selection of apps, most of which are either on Android but are terrible, or aren't on Android at all.

This is exactly why I came back to the iPhone after giving Android a try.

I was able to follow up until "intransigence," what do you mean by that word?

You mean a man of your linguistic prowess (and I am being VERY sarcastic) doesn't know what intransigence is? Here's a clue, pick up a dictionary and find out.....

That that? For a guy who acts in such a pretentious manner, and thrives on talking down to his peers, I'd expect you to write a tad bit better than what you're doing. I'd expect a guy who constantly is posting large words he really doesn't know (made obvious by his misuse of them), to at least be able to write on a high school level. Get it together.

When are people going to understand that there are people who us BOTH PLATFORMS and therefore like to compare them? These same comparisons (trolling, which is what some people here like to call it) happen on the Android forums as well. iOS is the most talked about OS on the forums after Android. What's wrong with that? IMO nothing.

People get upset when they realize they wasted their money on an inferior product. Buy the :apple: Fooled by the :apple:

You want to provide any specifics or you going to keep perpetuating this myth? I have all the same apps I used on my iOS now on my Android, with plenty of more apps on my Android that I can not find on iOS.

I've been a loyal iphone fan since the first one. Ive just gotten a Galaxy S3 and sold my 4S. And I must say, this is the best phone of all time. And i agree with OP, if the next IPhone doesn't deliver everyone will be pissed. But it it seem apple fans love anything apple makes. If they made a 2Inch phone with a 600mghz processor, they'll buy it. I used to be like that. It seem everyone tginks they're cool or rich just because they have an iphone.

Everyone will be pissed? Yet another blanket generalization.

First of all they do have the championship belt. But its not because of any measurable statistic. All you have to do is just look at the device.

Second of all, there you go using (bolded) the term "glaringly ahead" in such fantastical, lopsidedly extraneous fashion.

Third of all you misspelled "quite"

Yes but im not talking about that. Im talking about the fact that people put a "spin" of predilection on it and try to make it seem like Android is ahead of the game propensity speaking in those terms.

Example: Just above where you just did it in the previous paragharph saying "glaringly obvious"! I mean COME ON!

Oh it IS a gang my friend. IT IS a gang. Nuthin but a bunch slack jawed bullies trying to make me feel bad for my emotions.

Your sensationalistic views and choice of vocabulary makes you an easy target. Probably not what you want to hear, but it's honest.

Yeah well Ill keep it real simple for ya bub: step off cuzz. Swaggie.

I looked it up and I feel that way about you. I mean that you are like that.

Please stop attacking my character. Im not like that. I am the obverse of that.

Your right, they will not be pissed. They will just move on to a better phone.

I doubt it, everyone was pissed about how the 4S didn't deliver, and yet it had record breaking sales. Apple has some pretty loyal fans, and apple can make the crappiest and those loyal fans'll buy it.

Doubtful. But believe what you want. They said the same thing about the 4s. They'll say the same after that.

And if they do fall, they fall. Does it matter?

You're the one who chooses to present yourself as a pompous, pretentious, intransigent, elitist. Not so much fun when the tables are turned? Tell you what, I'll give it a rest if you do.

Just the facts. Like it or not, no spotlight required.

An Apple logo is all it takes to sell zillions.

It's a big market. The others will also do well. Someone's got to be second or third.

The upcoming Amazon Smartphone will be very interesting. It'll be here before too long.

This is the funniest crap reading some of these comments. Apple makes a inferior chip work better than the best Android phones with super chips. Finally maybe when the Google Nexus is realesed to the public you will have a Android phone that may run as smooth. But you will be lacking in the camera department. Some say we will still be behind on mapping but that is so untrue we will have the best of both worlds because your Google doesn't care if it's a iPhone. They will release a great version of maps because they depend on iPhone users revenue, haven't you seen the graphs we make them the most MONEY. We have 64 gig phones we don't need to move things to our Sd card. We have these features called Dropbox, iCloud and wireless syncing that help us move files around. And if your tech savy like a lot on this site you have other options with our jailbreak. Oh yeah who the heck wants to carry extra batteries around, if we do need that we get a thing called a mophie and it's probable still not thicker than most Androids. Also pick up some of those cheap feeling androids, they feel so cheap, what is up with that (seriously I'm not even kidding a little bit). And really why do you only have like 4 or 5 icons on your home screen, do you like looking at the wallpaper or something?

I think Android is cool and it would definitely be my second choice. I just don't understand how you can say Apple is so far behind because you have a bigger processor, you just need it compared to iOS.

Yet due to the absurd limitations of your OS, you still can't manage to do the simplest things like change your default browser, manage your files or download MP3s and set them as ringtones without using a computer and iTunes

the reason I believe the iPhone sells so well compared to Android phones in general is the ease of use. let's face it people most people in and around use they're smartphone to stay connected and Apple provides the most thoughtless way for them to do this. While some may say well it's not as good a device as this or that think of it this way, most of us learned basic math before stepping up to calculus, now wether Apple is smart for this or not designing a phone even grandma can use is a real feat.

Now Android as a whole OS is really technically ahead hardware wise but software wise while it is the more advanced OS it is also the more complicated OS. No matter what you do on an iPhone all task are handled the same. So it's very easy for people of all ages from 3 year olds to seniors to pick it up and use. Now personally I enjoy both Android and IOS. and the reason I ended up with an iPhone was because of Androids lack of polish in my view. Now I know that's been all fixed with ICS and JB but if Android will ever truly come to dominate IOS the keen area they need to concentrate on is the ease of use factor. like a turn signal switch in a car everyone knows what it's for and how to use it. And what many of us tech geeks fail to realize in our day to day arguments is people really just wanna use they're tech, the harder something is to master the less a person will use it, but if something is relatively easy to figure out and master they more and more it becomes second nature and thus the harder it becomes to live without. Apple has mastered this the simplest interface of all time not the prettiest or the absolute fastest but the simplest and they're sales numbers say all that needs to be said.

1. I just don't use Safari if I wan to use another browser. Big deal if something opens up in Safari default, it's faster than most 3rd party browsers. iOS has the most mobile browser usage.

2. Who needs to manage files? It's not necessary on the iPhone. If I need to manage files like documents, I can use my Dropbox.

3. I can download MP3's from the iTunes Store. What's so hard about that?

What are you talking about chrome is my default browser. And really I need a ringtone so bad I can't wait to get to a computer, oh I have iTunes for those childish moments. Yes iFile does let me browse email and upload any file I need to on my iPhone. oh I download mp3 files as much as I want on the Amazing iPhone.

At this point only thing that I think they could add is 4g. I did hear a rumor that they are making the screen bigger to 4". Hope the new phone won't end up being much bigger in terms of the actual phone I don't want something that doesn't fit nicely in my pocket and the current phone fits just nicely. I am ok with small I mean it is just a phone after all and I have an iPad if I want to view content on a larger screen. But like I said 4" could be cool if the phone is't made much larger.

You know how the newest iPhone will take the spotlight? By being released.

Brand loyalty, just enough new features, great marketing, and anticipation, is all Apple needs.

Android = pwned

I'm not trying to barge into this but on the topic of OS, how many android users actually received an update to jelly bean? Below 50%? Why is that?

Sarcastic much? I didnt even mention Jelly Bean, I didnt need to. So thats irrelevant.
