Well it's not complete crap but come on. A supposed high end device still running 3G with a tiny screen, no SD slot, tiny battery you can't remove or upgrade and an OS that trails years behind its main competitor? Pretty sad actually.

iPhone hasn't got a tiny screen, in fact it's perfect for most users. No SD slot = no problem, tiny battery? why is it mine lasts all day (iPhone 4S) whilst my friends Galaxy S3 lasts < 1 day? iOS is equal to Android, please tell me in what areas STOCK android (and don't compare app's like maps) is far superior to iOS?

All this thread proves is that the iPhone 4s _already_ owns the spotlight, and the iPhone 5 will continue to own it once released. When everyone and their brother is struggling to proclaim that they've got something "better than the iPhone" the game is already over.

Face it....even if you own an Android, the iPhone still rules your world. You are obsessed with it. You can't stop posting here and comparing it to the iPhone.

And that's ok really...but you aren't telling we iPhone owners something we don't already know. The iPhone is the center of your world too...you just haven't accepted that yet. :D

This guy just put things in such a devestatingly sobering perspective that it shut down any hope of Android users ever recovering from it in this discussion. There's no coming back from that! Good night Fandroids :)

It's a fair point, while the overwhelming majority of iPhone users are satisfied and going on their merry way.

Mostly I think android users are miserable and pissed off that iPhone users are content. Misery loves company, so they troll and tell everyone to buy the same crappy flavor of the second android phone they got this week.

how republican of you

Cute! I had to actually look that one up.

Nice to see that you reply to posts with name calling/insults

Unfortunately, he used it wrong..... pehaps he should have taken the time to look it up also..

Devastatingly (spell it correctly) sobering? Do you have any idea what you're saying? You try so hard to sound intelligent, you sound like an idiot. Your gross misuse of words, and callous butchering of the English language borders on criminal.

And why can't maps be compared? It's a part of stock Android. Here's a few areas: Maps, voice dictation, multitasking, notifications, web browsing, cloud connectivity, and app integration (any app can be integrated into the OS) to name a few off the top of my head.

PS
Yes it does indeed have a tiny screen. And there are plenty of people not happy with the 4S battery life, and there are plenty of people who make it through a day with the GS3. A lot of that depends on how you use it.

Fine, android rules. iPhone sucks. Why do so many people come to pick fights here? Was that part of your contract to convert as many iPhone users as possible to android? Do you get a signing bonus for converts or something?

He asked a question, he got an answer..

So that's the point of owning an Android, so you can run benchmarks all day and yell, JEEZ I haz 0.04 more microjisms than j00r iPhone!!

All that matters is the end user. The majority of people with Android devices use it to phone and text, and are just to complex to use. Likewise with the iPhone only a tiny fraction realise what a JB is or actually have it jailbroken.

Android phones are not complex to use and the snapdragon s4 has many real world benefits that even the average user to can take advantage of. Its power consumption is drastically lower than the a5 which is not the most power efficient chip around. It also has an integrated lte modem which significantly reduces the power drain of LTE compared to other chipsets. That LTE chip and the SOC is also on the newer 28nm process which is why it has such a reduced power draw vs the 45nm the a5 in the iphone is built on. The iphone 4s was a big step back in battery life compared to its predecessor the iphone 4.

I know right? It's hilarious how insecure they are about it don't you agree?

I'd be happier to see them admit that Apple is the coolest, is the envy of every company on earth, and the rest are just squirming to compete while Apple sits comfortable on the throne. That's more like it.

Unfortunately, he used it wrong..... pehaps he should have taken the time to look it up also..

Or maybe I used it EXACTLY how I meant to use it and my sense of humor is beyond your comprehension...

You know, I heard the Nazis were crazy like that about grammar too.

As for your feeble attempts to proclaim some sort of superiority of features, you still have to remember they are just your opinions. They are mere subjective ideas, not facts. Your opinions mean nothing. Someone can simply take the opposite stance and have just as much (or as little) validity as your opinions.

Even beyond that though, you are fundamentally wrong on multiple of your points. The post just comes off as childish. What you are unable to comprehend in your brain is that we are all the totality of our socially transmitted behaviour patterns, morals, ideas, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought.

Tell me, do you even understand the inner workings of bio-genetic molecular instability; and how they relate to the user experience in an operating system?

When you can answer that you can address me and my posts again, not before.

The dedicated back button in android is a huge superiority. Opening an email and clicking a link in it to read it and then being able to hit back to return to the email is a huge plus. This works in many other apps as well. It also means that you don't have to constantly reach the top left corner like you have to oftenly do in iOS. My nexus outlasts the battery of all of the people I know with 4s's.

lol yeah...you purposely misused a big word as humor....well then you've been using that form of "humor" for years, because you've consistently and constantly misused big words.

Unlike you, I back everything I say up with something factual behind it. You, on the other hand post nonsensical ramblings, littered with misused big words, to give the illusion you know what you're talking about. Unfortunately for you, I actually know and understand those words, and can see how foolish you really are. Your statements make about much sense as incorrect math.

That's not much of a counter. Try standing on a point, instead of standing on a pile of BS.

Tell me, do you even understand the nonsense that comes out of your mouth? It's obvious you have nothing of substance to contribute, hence why you feel the need to resort to unintellible ramblings of nonsense. Though it really doesn't matter if you did bother with responding with something useful, because your intransigence will not allow you to expose yourself to perspectives not like your own.

I was able to follow up until "intransigence," what do you mean by that word?

When are people going to understand that there are people who us BOTH PLATFORMS and therefore like to compare them? These same comparisons (trolling, which is what some people here like to call it) happen on the Android forums as well. iOS is the most talked about OS on the forums after Android. What's wrong with that? IMO nothing.

As soon as the new iPhone is announced, all other phones will be cast into the background.

Even if it retains the same form factor, it'll sell like hot cakes.

All the next iPhone needs is

  • Slightly larger screen - 4" would be perfect
  • LTE
  • iOS 6.0
  • Great battery life

Nice to have but not dealbreaker status :
  • NFC - solution still looking for a problem IMO
  • Greater than 8 Megapixel camera
  • Larger than 4" screen

Like I said in another thread, it's cool that now in the offseason, curiosity for the competition dominates discussions, so it's kinda OK.

We just don't appreciate it when people ignore the glaring dominance Apple has and act like its just another competitor. It's like a paradigm shift belittling the respect Apple deserves and is an attitude we don't see eye to ey with on Android users.

To us iOS is still way ahead of the competition in the details (important ones too) and we don like it when you guys phrase your sentences and paragraphs in passive aggressive ways implying that that is not true.

Respect that the opinion here is biased as such and stop attacking us for beig apple lovers on our own turf. I respect that you have a more neutral and non-loyal stance but respect the fact we don't see it that way.

And stop making fun of me too.

Indeed! Never thought that until I tried out the SGIII and the back button is a must!

Dude, you're delusional....HARDWARE IS LACKING ON ANDROID?!....REALLY? Im not even going to debate you on that

You cant say Google Nav? Why not? Map in iOS 6 is complete horse ****. It wont compare to Google Maps in the foreseeable future, if ever honestly. Google, OBVIOUSLY, is YEARS ahead of Apple there. Not to mention, Apple had to BUY other companies to get their map foundation started. They have a LONG way to go. No need for me to dwell on that. If you dont understand that without me having to go in depth, then you reaaaaally need help.

What about Google Now? At this point, as far as usability, its proven to be faster, AND more accurate than Siri. Yes, Siri is more conversational. But for all intensive purposes, Google Now is better then Siri.

And lastly, name things An Android device can do that a jailbroken iPhone cant? Do you not see the broken logic in what you just said? YOU JAILBREAK BECAUSE YOU WANT FEATURES APPLE DOESNT GIVE YOU. As far as features, Jelly Bean RUNS CIRCLES around iOS 6, out the box. Hell, even Jailbroken, it still beats it.

I realize theres no getting through to many of the Apple fans on this board. Both are great operating systems, but people are so blind and ACCEPT what iOS lacks, and defends it. WHY? You're the one missing out on a greater experience. One that you obviously want, because you sought the need to jailbreak your phone! So if anyone is playing catch up at this point, its definitely APPLE. But they will be widely successful anyway, because people are ready to throw their money at the next iPhone once its out!

There are alot of people who are really into tech, but still choose to use iPhones, despite some of its weaknesses, because they like the experience. But they still admit to the iPhones faults. You sir, and many others, are mindless and delusional. Apple can do no wrong and has no weaknesses in your eyes....and thats SAD.

I'm not trying to barge into this but on the topic of OS, how many android users actually received an update to jelly bean? Below 50%? Why is that?

"Allah is a joke...or would be if he existed, and God doesn't actually exist either, and the people who believe in any of them are fools".

...well, that is basically what's going on in this thread, right? ;)

Android owners love Android products and (mostly) detest Apple for...well, being Apple.
...and vice versa.

Why even discuss it? I don't have a lot to add to what's already been said - all I want to say (pro and con Apple) as already been said, so I'm not going to waste my time trying to say the same in a slightly different way.

I'm not an Apple fanboy (I hate the expression and remain very critical towards many things Apple) but I do own several Apple products and I'm mostly very happy with them and will happily tell people the good things about Apple products but will also tell them the pros and cons about Android at the same time. Btw, I tried a friend's Samsung GS3 today and I have to say that it was a very nice piece of hardware, but personally I wouldn't want one - the damn thing is too big (and I don't really like the OS...although I know I'd probably get used to it in no time).

As for the upcoming iPhone I wouldn't upgrade "just because threre's a new one out" - I upgraded my phone from 3GS to 4 but haven't bothered upgrading to 4S - there just wasn't anything worth paying that much extra for (even though I only pay half of what most people will pay). And so far the only "killer feature" in iPhone 5 (rumors only, of course) seems to be a bigger screen, and if that's the only "big" thing being upgraded I'll stick with my 4 and skip #5 and wait for the (inevitable) iPhone 6 instead. I'd actually prefer if they shrunk the screen instead of making it bigger.

Well, that's just my two cents anyway.

Sounds great but I wonder if the long 4" screen will catch on(if true)

Jellybean isn't out yet. There's a test version you can download though.
