i searched an apple related question and the first thing was things from macrumors, so i lurked it for along time.. than i made an account

That's exactly how I found MacRumors. I just wish I would have found it back in 2006 when I got my first Mac.

I've been a long time lurker of this site since my brother got an iPhone 3G for his birthday.

I made my first thread when I tried to jailbreak my 3GS :) (click smiley)

A total n00b thread :)

I was having trouble with my iPhone 3G and I stumbled across this site. Then I lurked for a long time before I made an account. Then I lurked even longer before I finally decided that I wanted to post. :D

As best as I remeber, I was looking for info on iPods. Lurked for a while and then discovered I had something to say. I seriously doubt it was important.

iPhone related questions.

Then I got addicted.

Then I got a PowerMac G5, and then I got an iPhone 3GS, and then I got a MacBook Pro.

Don't remember how I found it, but know that I had questions about buying my first Mac back in 2008. Since that time, I've gone onto average a very pedestrian 4.65 posts/month.

I think I got to this site via MacBidouille. And I got to MacBidouille during the period of rumors of transition to Intel chips in 2005. And I got to MacBidouille via jeuxvideo.com which is a crappy video game website I used to visit during the year before the launch of the Wii (the so-called "Revolution").

That's pretty much it :p

I became a regular lurker after WWDC in 2007 because I became fascinated with the iPhone at that time. I posted for the first time here, but never got the answer. Now I run a sticky detailing everything on jailbreaking iPhones. Irony at its best.

Originally I wanted to become a mod, but later realized I'd rather be Tallest Skil's replacement in many ways. Something I furthered pursued after he was banned and he allowed me to use his avatars. Hopefully I am. (I know I will get glaring eyes from this, even minus ones)

I joined back in 2007 to find out more about what kind of Mac I wanted.

I was really clueless about Mac internals (as that thread clearly shows), but I ended up with the best computer I've owned to date (purchased January 2008) - it's got so much power, it's gonna last me another couple of years at least. :)

This is a daily stopping point for me to get my Apple news, and I'm really happy to be here!

Another forum that I used to frequent was dying on the vine and I was looking for another mac based forum. I used the buyer's guide quite often but I never noticed the forum tab for the longest time

Mine is much the same story as those posted by many others: I was thinking about switching and thus buying an Apple computer in early 2008 and came across this forum when reading reviews of products, customer feedback, comments and problems experienced by users and so on.

When I actually bought my MBP in 2008 (as a belated birthday present), I lurked for quite a while, reading threads and sometimes being able to obtain answers to the many questions I had. Anyway, I found I liked the forum, its ambience, and the interesting discussions which often take place there. In many ways, it has been an education, - and not just on "technical" matters -and it's rather nice to be able to "meet" people from a wide variety of backgrounds and with differing areas of expertise and interests. The political discussions were fascinating, too. So I joined.

In fact, it's the first online community I joined. Since then, work and life commitments have meant that I've been able to participate actively at times, and more or less vanish for months at times as well, and I like that fact that one can do this, that one can dip into or leave conversations as one chooses.

Actually, I must confess that I really like MR; it is an intelligent, informative and sometimes fun environment. Most days, I drop in to see what is going on. :)

I think I first came across Macrumors when trying to find out if a new Powermac G4 would be coming out soon. Which made me wait for the 2001 Macworld at the Moscone Convention Center. Though it wasn't till several years later that I started to really frequent the site and start posting. I seem to recall that I made another screen name before my current one but have no idea what it is nor still have any e-mail accounts I had then.

I switched in March 2007 to a Mac, and was Googling around how to do stuff. MacRumors came out top on some searches (brought up forum topics), so I decided to join.

Wish I hadn't.. checking these forums daily is bad for my health. I check the forums almost as much as I check Sickipedia.
