Where do you get it?

The most popular local pizza in Anchorage is probably from the Moose's Tooth restaurant/microbrewery. A close second in my opinion would be a little hotel pub/restaurant downtown called Fletcher's.

However, I've finally gotten to the point where I can make it from scratch myself, and I like my own brand. :)

I've been to Lombardi's in New York City (claim to have invented pizza in it's US form in 1905) and while it's a bit touristy, the pizza is excellent.

How do you get it?

Generally I like to eat in at a restaurant or make it myself.

What do you take on it?

I like to keep it simple. My favorite ingredients are fresh mozzarella, mushrooms green peppers, onions, and pepperoni.

How do you like your crust?

I am a big fan of New York styles (both Neopolitan and Sicilian), Chicago Deep Dish, and St Louis style.

Unfortunately, I'll be going off pizza as I have recently been confirmed lactose intolerant. :(

They have over the counter pills you can take so you can eat dairy. My aunt and step-father use them all the time.

That's true..... my MIL uses them as well.

Last week she forgot to take one before eating a large piece of chocolate cake during dessert.......... that was fun.

Re: lactose intolerance, just take some lactaid before and during (if necessary) pizza consumption, problem solved. Both my wife and I are lactose intolerant and since taking lactaid with our pizza, no problems whatsoever.

I particularly like the... don't know what else to call it, "floppier" New York style pizza... topped with pepperoni and jalapenos. Sometimes with italian sausage added... mmmm, not quite an infamous heart attack pizza (with ground beef and bacon), but quite delicious in my opinion.

My wife likes her pizza with just pineapple. Ugh.

200gr flour + what's been added with kneading to avoid sticky surface/fingers
1 eggyoke
1 teaspoon salt
1 dinnerspoon sugar
3 dinnerspoons oliveoil
7gr dried yeast (one package in the Netherlands)
120ml warm water

This will give you two medium size pizza's

The dough after one hour rising, puffed up about twice the original size:

Same dough after 24 hours of rising:

Kneading the dough, and devided in two equal parts:

Flattened (this is one part of 100gr of flour):

First time in the oven. I bake the dough in two times to avoid a soggy top if sauce applied immediately:

Dough puffing up pretty well:

Out of the oven, adding sauce, cheese & peperoni & back in the oven:

Enough of this Thanksgiving turkey, ham and leftovers

Thinking about pizza for dinner tonight
Might add some of those leftovers to bulk it up :)

I love all sorts of pizza, but my favorite toppings are onion and hot peppers(any type).

I haven't had squid ink on pizza, but I did have squid pizza in Japan.

I ate pizza from Crust last night. Actually, we bought 4 different pizzas, but I'm pretty sure that we all agreed that my choice (the only one with vegetables) was the best. ;)

Grilled Eggplant
Marinated Artichokes
Baby Spinach
Roasted Capsicum (red peppers)
Mushrooms
Sundried Tomatoes
Bocconcini
topped with Homemade Pesto Aioli

I asked for extra garlic and oregano. :)
