Small scuff on bottom right of screen, and a couple nicks in the anodization above the screen that are clearly my fault.

There are a couple of smaller chipped areas of anodization that I've had since the first week that I am convinced were a defect but they don't bother me.

Overall, it's held up wonderfully given the beating it takes.

So far, my 42MM space gray sport is holding up fabulously.

I had my SS 42" AW since launch and up until sat when the display randomly fell off I had no issue
Its in the warranty period, contact apple to get it repaired/replaced.

I'm considering getting AppleCare+ and am wondering about cosmetic stuff. I know they don't technically cover cosmetic damage like scratches and such, but I saw someone earlier in this thread say "I'll replace it every year with AppleCare+ anyway."

Is that possible and how would one go about doing that?

I got a scratch on the upper left-hand corner of the screen of my Apple Watch Sport, but that's about it. And it was my own darn fault, so I'm not even mad.

Very impressed with how well it has held up, and I wear it while working. I have scratched it across surfaces and banged it against everything you can imagine. Once I slammed it against a steel pole extremely hard, thought it would have cracked or shattered, but it held up. Hit the digital crown many times, and it's still surprisingly smooth.

If I hold it to the light and move I can see hair like scratching but not noticeable with normal use. When I wash it, dang thing looks new.

Only issue is the back, for some reason right in the center its scratched up pretty bad, maybe it's putting of and on the charger?

Apple Watch Sport.

Well, it was bound to happen at some point. Dropped it while taking it off. Gotta pay $79 now.

I ended up deciding I was not going to add a layer of protection to my watch and if it was significantly damage I'd make an insurance claim. Been nekkid for around two months now and not a mark. When I was super careful and before. Had to exchange due to bricked firmware upgrade I had little scratches. Since I stopped caring I have none. Go figure.

My year,y insurance covers up to ten grand in watches. Jewelry. Other personal items (camera gear) and costs $152 a year. 0 deductible. Beanpole watches are on it.

that's less than apple care and one claim a year. Significantly and I already had it for my camera gear ($6500 of coverage which covers anything. Even me leaving it in a coffee shop )

AppleCare just doesn't make sense if you have any kind of decent car insurance check their personal property offerings. Of that $152 my car insurance dropped $118 when I got the personal property insurance. So covering ten grand of stuff costs me $34 a year. Has no deductible and if I call them and claim they just out the money for it in my account. No questions asked.

my SS watch got it's first scratches in the last couple of days. i'm not sure what from; i helped the in laws move some furniture the other day and may have hit it and have also started wearing long sleeves these past few days for the first time since upgrading (first time since february actually) so it's one of those.

not visible from top down, ie looking at the screen, but definitely a little scuff in the corner and a tiny scratch on the case right above where the band goes in.

screen is still perfect though. the case isn't looking like the back of an old ipod yet, so i'm not too bothered.

SS holding up well, the back is abit greesy I guess given how much usage it gets at the gym but no scratches that are noticeable.

So is the space grey sport known to have easy wearing issues or is easily scratched and scuffed? If so I'm going to return mine. It's a gift for me and is still sealed.

I have the sport space gray. Have worn it very day since April, and there isn't a mark on it.

For the record, up until I shattered the screen, my space black SS went 7 months without a single scratch on the screen. Sapphire is hard stuff.

So I have a quick question for Apple Watch owners. I got an Apple Watch Sport, gold aluminum, 42mm for Christmas and I'm about to go to a theme park soon. I was wondering if it's safe for me to ride the roller coasters and thrill rides there? These aren't the fastest roller coasters but I would rather be safer than sorry. Will it fly off in the middle of a ride? Am I overreacting? Thanks!

Don't worry, it will stay on your hand, it's a "sports" watch, after all. But you might get some minutes on your exercise ring just from riding a roller coaster. :)

you could put a screen protector on it, to protect the ion-x glass from scratches, but apart from that, it's pretty tough.

Planned on getting a screen protector pretty soon! Thank you!

Mine is holding up very very well. I've been wearing it everyday since may, so about 7 months and it doesn't have any signs of excessive wear. I'm still loving this thing.

about 6 months with a SS for me... the SS case shows hundreds of scuffs etc. as expected of the material, it actually looks nice and lived in now but i know i could polish it. the sapphire screen despite many many hard knocks is of course completely flawless.
