Didn't want to start another thread so putting it in here as it loosely fits..

I've noticed on my week old 42mm SS, that the stainless bezel at the point where the glass tapers off into it and as the bezel curves, is unpolished in many places...blotchy...and not a smooth polished finish right around the watch face...i hope I am explaining it correctly....

when the sun or light catches the bezel it is quite annoying and quite evident...

anyone else with this?

Yep, I have seen that on the watches. It may have come that way out of the box. I've seen some family members come that way out of the box. Also, one I saw had the friends button the same way, the edge of it, wasn't polished uniformly. Of course, it's more distracting when it's the tiny tiny bezel around the entire watch case.

Now, it can also get debris and whatnot trapped in there. However, if it looks like areas where the metal was simply not polished to a uniform finish, it was probably like that all along, unless you've been hitting it a lot.

I would recommend you go ahead, order a new one, and return that one. No point in not being happy since you just bought it days ago.

*Disclaimer This poll is only for people who has own and wore their Watches for 10 days or more. If you have not worn your watch for 10 days or more please hold off your vote till then! Of course you are welcome to post replies on this thread. This poll is to get a rough generalized view on how the Watch holds up on daily wear and tear.

So for those of you lucky enough to have that 10 day anniversary date with your Watch let me ask you a question?

How is your Watch holding up?

(Please format your answers, If answered "Yes" please note the severity.
Scratches on the screen?
Scratches on the case?
What model do you have?
Damages to the band?
What band do you have?
What is you typical day like?
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day?
and finally,
Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist?

Lets see where this poll goes and hopefully we can have a proper view on how our Watch holds up in the real world and see what team is better :p

Battery life is not good at all

Has anyone polished the back of their SS? I have some light scratches beside the charging area that I would like to remove. I'm wondering if the words will get buffed out. It looks like the words are engraved, but I'm not sure. Also, as much as I will try to avoid the charging area, what if I rub the cloth there? Does it get scratched? I'll probably use the Cape Cod polishing cloths. Thanks!

Just changed my vote and am now one of the unlucky 13 who've damaged the sapphire crystal. I think by a colleague's diamond ring (as already moaned about in another thread...)!

Yeah, so I finally had a close encounter with a wall after owning the watch for more than a month. Sapphire is fine. Gouged the steel though. I polished it as best I could, but it left was I would call a small dent in steel. Nothing I can't live with. You have to know where it is to see it. I'd rather it be perfect, but I knew that it would never stay that way. I'm sure I have some microscratches on the steel, but nothing bad enough for me to see unless I shine my iPhones light directly on the steel.

The entire watch is solid stainless steel, so.... forever?

EDIT - I see he said he uses aluminum polish - I was not aware you could polish anodized aluminum.

I doubt it will work on anodized aluminum. I saw it on YouTube. Didn't think it would really work for my SS Apple Watch, but I decided one day to go to auto zone and get the polish.

I've been polishing the watch since. I've gotten more content with the scratches now that I know they can be polished out. So I haven't been polishing it as much lately.

4 months in and my silver aluminium sport watch remains completely unblemished. I wear it all day, every day and it's made contact with a fair few walls and door frames but no marks on it so far. Long may this continue!

Scratches on the screen?

No.

Scratches on the case?
No.

What model do you have?
Apple Watch 42MM Stainless Steel.

Damages to the band?
Nope! :)

What band do you have?
Milanese Loop Stainless Steel (Apple)

What is you typical day like?
Well, on average I get text messages including Facebook Messenger from 3 people total. I get email notifications every now and then. I unsubscribed from unnecessary emails from stores, etc. There's no point! I would say I get the average amount of notification and phone calls and because of this, my Apple Watch lasts me all day from 9AM to 10PM with a typical battery life of 60% by the end of my day. I generally take it off once I get settled in at home which could be an hour or two before I take my watch off.

Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day?
Fortunately no!

Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist?
Since last month. (20+ days)

I have a space black SS and the coating seems to be really tough and durable. A number of times I've banged my watch on a solid surface thinking I caused some damage. And every time I've been pleasantly surprised. No damage at all.

I've now had my watch for a few weeks and I'm happy with the condition of the watch. I try to be careful with it, (within reason) and in contrast to my prior comments about a case I opted for the LUVVITT® ULTRA ARMOR case given that I'm in karate and wanted some extra protection.

Overall I'm very happy with the watch selection and how its holding up.

Does the case leave scratches? Do you have a sport or stainless steel

I received my 42mm SS classic buckle in the beginning of July. I have lot of scratches all over the case, with a deep scratch or two near the screen. The screen looks flawless. My taptic engine stopped working this past Wednesday morning. I took it to the apple store Friday night. Hopefully I'll get it back soon and post pics.

I have a zillion little scratches all over my stainless Watch and link bracelet, just like any other stainless watch I've owned. The sapphire is fine.

I bought the Space Black SS AW a couple of weeks back... Been wearing it ever since, and it really looks like just came out of the box... Very happy with it...

As it's stainless steel, it will eventually get small scratches like all the other SS watches I own

What I'm discovering after a few days is how easy it is to collide accidentally off something; putting the pots away, filling/emptying the dishwasher or hanging a cat up in the cupboard. There are so many ways to just hit off something.

I have a Sport model with a few very fine scratches on the screen, only viewable when in direct sunlight. I noticed that my drawer full of old legacy Timex watches had the same problem. The only difference is that I have become attached to the Apple Watch .

Do the super faint scratches on the Sport Screen that you can only see when the sun hits the screen "just so" count? I have a few of those. I got the first one a few days in when I'm positive I didn't even graze againt anything significant. I've decided it's the ultimate FWP so I'm not crying about it
