Do the super faint scratches on the Sport Screen that you can only see when the sun hits the screen "just so" count? I have a few of those. I got the first one a few days in when I'm positive I didn't even graze againt anything significant. I've decided it's the ultimate FWP so I'm not crying about it

I have a couple of those on my screen as well. Kind of bugs me when the light hits it just the right way. Otherwise, I really don't worry about it. It's still in mint condition minus the faint scratches (which I can't even remember where I got them from).

What I'm discovering after a few days is how easy it is to collide accidentally off something; putting the pots away, filling/emptying the dishwasher or hanging a cat up in the cupboard. There are so many ways to just hit off something.
Haven't you been wearing a watch before this? As a watch lover I'm well aware of the risks when moving around so it's always helpful watching out, but you will hit stuff eventually

My watch completely died. The screen started it to respond, then it flashed red and did not respond. Then when trying to re sync it overheated and burnt out.

Haven't wore a watch in over 15 years. I guess I'm out of practice!

Taptic engine starting to fail, movement is weird now and i'm getting a clicky sound everytime I get a notification.

Getting the repair box sent out now

Just a small review after a month. I'm a Firefighter in NYC and wear my SBSS 42 everyday at work. Between going on runs and everyday life in the firehouse this thing has held up very well. Cooking, cleaning, water, dirt, smoke you name it. I haven't submerged it at all but have gotten it wet. It helps with life in the firehouse too, between using timers and checking my heart rate after climbing 7 floors with 110lbs of equipment strapped to me, or even just checking notifications when my phone is buried under neath my gear. Battery life has been decent since the update. Came off the charger at 6am and used it moderately, 9am the next morning I was down to 35% I'm excited to see what the future brings with ⌚️. No regrets with it

Haptic engine died.... sent it back to the Apple store and they informed me that i will get a new replacement soon :)

Well somehow my 42 SB case has discolored like something has gotten on it and took the paint off (anodization). It's at the top and around side. Screen is good as there is a glass screen protector on it. I use a spigen snap on case but something has definitely gotten on it and removed the space gray paint. Just gonna keep using it now lol and not worry about messing it up. Maybe 1st of year use my apple care and get a replacement. But for now no holds bar.

Little scratch on the screen, only (hardly) visible when direct light hits it.
More scratches will follow, that's why i've chosen to add Applecare+ 32 days after buying it (didn't have the scratch at that time)

SB = space black.... but then you mention anodization and space grey... do you have a space grey (aluminum) or space black (Stainless)?

Can you post pics of the flaking?

Noticed a bit of metal damage over the weekend and what's almost like a seam in the body today. Considering that I've worn this thing daily for nearly five months and all I've had happen is a small scratch on the glass and a few bits of metal damage, that's impressive. I've worn other watches daily and ended up with more damage. I'm not letting it bother me now but if it does I'll pay for an AppleCare replacement or wait for a hardware failure.

So after 4 months of wearing my AW Sport, the aluminum case is still pristine. Can't say that of the glass, it's got a few scratches near the bottom and top edges. Hardly noticeable, anyway. I mainly used it with a stone leather loop, which gets dirty very quickly but is also easy to clean, and is still in good condition.

Sorry space grey case. Its not peeling but like something has made the anodization run. I will try to post pics later.

Not well...my space grey band is wearing away. I have a couple of minor scratches on the face as well.

Had mine since June, and worn it most days. It's a 42mm SS. The glass is faultless but the stainless steel has now got lots of thin scratches on it, which is what I was expecting and is what you would get with any watch. So overall very happy.

I spoke with Apple Sales today after returning my SGS. The sales rep told me that they will not cover cosmetic damage even if you have purchased Apple Care. So if you scratch up your screen they will not cover it. Also if your watch body is scratched or peeling and you crack your screen on purpose to get a replacement they will send your watch off for repair and replace the screen in the same watch body. Keep that in mind as you may have a hard time getting Apple to replace your watch with a new or refurbished.

I retuned my SGS even though I had Apple Care yesterday because I was concerned about the reports of the coating peeling off and I bumped my watch on a wooden table and had a couple small scratches on the screen. I was concerned about what it would look like in 6 months . As well as the kinda warranty support I would receive from Apple after reading some of the other posts concerning Apples response to cosmetic issue concerning the anodized coatings peeling and rubbing off. It's a lot of money for a sport product that I feel should be more durable.

Takes my post how you will. I honestly really liked the functionality. I just don't feel like the quality justifies the price.

THIS. I am not impressed with the quality at all. I love what it does, don't get me wrong but it's too fragile for me.

So what the hell is Apple calling accidental damage of handling. If it's an accident it should be covered. Just curious.

Anyone would have think I'd thumped my screen with all the little nicks on it. I've bumped it here and there and that's about it. Don't know what's going on with the band though...

If you have applecare plus, they will overnight you one, put a hold on your CC and you send yours back. Called Express replacement.
