131 cycles
"10 months old"
and still at 100%.

i like my battery.

why does it say "original battery capacity: 1300 mAh"
and then the "current capacity" is 12232?
what does it mean original capacity?
and how is it more now that it was before?

What I'm saying is that if I fully charge my MacBook (Core2Duo white plastic 3 years old) and then check capacity (i.e. battery health) I get a number that stays the same throughout the use of the computer until the next time I charge the battery.

Oh yeah, that usually is constant. Mine stays as the same capacity until the next charge also unless there's something wrong like the sudden drop to 50% last time.

Because Coconutbattery is reporting the original capacity wrong. It's suppose to be 13000 mAh for the 17" uMBPs original battery capacity.

Original capacity is what the battery was deisgned for.

You're actually at 94% health, not 100%.

Can anyone beat this for number of load cycles? :)

does it make sense?

Current capacity 95% (4777mAh)
Charge cycles 159% (634)
Age 32 months

I usually leave it plugged in, which might be the reason i still have 95% battery health

This thread just confirms that my battery is dying prematurely.

Do you think that I'd get a free replacement if my laptop is still under Applecare?

Possibly but I have heard people say just the opposite. I don't know that leaving it plugged in all the time helps or not.

Frankly you have 439 cycles so I don't think your battery is dying prematurely. Some batteries have performance far worse than yours.

That is well under expected normal operating parameters. You should be able to get a free replacement.

I've had my iBook for 5 years, and this battery for probably 3, so no replacement for me!

In that case, no, you are probably correct. Can't believe that you managed so few cycles in 3 years though...! :p

Yeah, I had two batteries, and this one was used as the spare for most of that time until the original completely wore out. Then, the machine was broken for a while until i felt like paying to get it repaired. And now it's just a spare computer, so it doesn't get the heavy use it did when it was young. I knew the health was bad, but I didn't realize there were that few of cycles! Must be the age of it factoring in.

i get around 3hrs on battery after 29 months of more or less working on AC plug. how does this look like to you?

Yours isn't that bad

Not that it really matters anymore though. I always have to keep it plugged in now because it randomly shuts off with no warning when I have it running on battery power. :(

Macbook Pro 13'' 2009

Current Max Charge: 5232
Original Max Charge: 5450
Percent of original: 96%

Battery Loadcycle: 191
Age of Mac: 8 Months

I have 11 cycles on my 13" MPB that is 2 months old (actually I've only had it 3 weeks.) I'm already at 5196/5450 = 95%. :( Hopefully it levels off. I try to only plug it in to charge it and take it off when it's not in use. Maybe I need to start shutting down instead of just closing the lid when I'm not using it?

I swear the best way to get the best out of your battery is to not worry about it. If you leave it plugged in all day every day, maybe discharge it a couple of times a month.

Try not to worry and it'll be fiiine!

on my 2nd battery... seems to slowly underperforming.

This one is mid-2009 MBP with non-removeable bettery. I purchased it in end of July/beginning of August.

It doesn't last long and the 'health' reading varies.

That's not a lot of info to go by if you're looking for advice. How long does it last?

It is supposed to be a '7 hour' battery but it lasts between 2 and 3 hours with moderate browsing. If I push it with BBC iPlayer (Flash video) or other applications, it might last even less than 2 hours. I charge it a couple of times a day if I'm working on it. I use other Macs and I move around the house, so I tend to use it until the battery dies.

In every 4-6 weeks, I leave the battery deplete completely and leave it like that for the night. With an old white MacBook, that preserved the health of the battery very well.
