Have both, but haven't really used Twitter much since ever. I've tweeted maybe 10 times in 4 years

Upon its release, I found it disgusting that FB required one to join before they could even browse inside to see what it's like.

Little did the realize just how much time I'd save by making the choice I did... To Not Join FB

Today social life seems impossible without FB... On the other hand, twitter users among my social circle (mid 20s - mid 30s), family, acquaintances, etc. are very rare.

Joining just meant crating any random account, as is the case with many things, not like it's a strange or complicated or invasive thing in any way.

As far as I know you can't anymore create a random account on FB. It requires you to submit a proof of real life identification.

I don't have either. I hate people who use it for self promotion but other than that, I don't judge others for using it for other reasons.

I have a Facebook account because certain deals are only available to Facebook users.

I have a Twitter account primarily to contact companies regarding their products and services, and report issues that I notice.

I wonder how many people on Facebook or Twitter (or elsewhere) are discussing if people have online forum accounts (and what that must somehow imply about those people, one way or another)...

I have Twitter, it's easier to click through my pretty short follow list - mostly news outlets- than to read email briefings, and it takes less than half the time. If I see something I want to pursue then I'll log into whatever news site posted the tweet, and read the world news while I'm there.

Edit: I had a Facebook account for about as long as it took them to tweak their privacy policy again after I created the setup. I read the whole thing. Then I deleted my account.
