How many waiting for Core 2 Duo to buy MB/MBP?

Unfortunately even if Intel wants to do that... it probably wouldn't happen! Besides the chips are probably going to be so buggy due to a premature release, we sure as hell wouldn't want that :rolleyes:
 
i am waiting, cash in hand (yes! actual cash!) for a 17" C2D MBP.

and based on the latest crop of rumors, and waiting until at least the 26th. :(
 
I can't believe how many people are actually waiting for this! I AM:) and when it comes out, that will be my happy day!!!!! Why can't appl ejust release th ethings now, I'll bet Steve has a big stash of Merom Macbooks lying around at his house, probably eats off them and laughs at consumers who are willing to wait!!!
 
Count me in for a MBP the instant it's updated to Merom.

I 've been waiting patiently since mid July when my old (museum capable) iBook G3 has gone *KABOOM* after spilling a glass of wine on it (fortunately the data is still ok, as this would result in a serious delay of my thesis :eek: ).

The iBook was fine and performed its duty well enough all these years (programming and editing/email mostly and graphics rarely), but now I 'm in desperate need for a new modem and hopefully long-lasting :)D) laptop.

Waited for the WWDC ... nothing (and seems proper since it's WWDC after all).
Waited for "Showtime" event .... still nothing (ok, it's an iPod related event)).
Will wait and for the Photokina event on the 26th (mostly pro-photograph related).

After that I'll get whatever 's available... steve do your magic faster please!

i think they will be release last week of September, or latest, first week of October. So, 2-3 weeks, MAX
 
waiting since June

No way I'd buy a yonah after wiating this long.

Oh yeah, MBP not a MB. I think it's gonna be a while for the MB's to catch up.
 
Waiting, money's just sitting there burning a hole in my bankaccount, can't wait to send them to Apple the second they announce a Merom 17" MBP. I wish they would do it soon.. Waiting is boring, but buying something that's supposed to be top of the line that doesnt have what other manufacturers send out is worse..
 
On Saturday I'm buying an apple, no matter what.

If the MBP isn't upgraded by then I'm just going to by a 24in imac, they cost about the same and both have pros and cons. So I'm content either way.

Only two weeks, maybe a tuesday...
This has been going on forever but I'm still waiting!!!!!
 
I just bought a MB 1.83. Supposed to ship in 10 days and should be here Oct 2. I was a little surprised at the wait since I got it stock config. I did order a DVI->VGA converter with it, but that hardly counts as BTO!
I know c2d is coming, but I need a notebook sooner rather than later...At the end of the day, I'm more interested in my apps being binary than I am a newer chip.

I am hoping for an updated body, ie black case. The aluminum is very fragile. too fragile. and the lil pads on the bottom arent too good. the rubber pads on the macbook are better.

also, hoping what you mentioned. better CPU, also be able to upgrade or optionally buy better mobile graphics card, or be able to upgrade your own hard drive or memory easily.

Would want all of what you mentioned and even blu-ray drive as an option.

I want to upgrade completely from dvd to this.
 
im waiting, i read about its release on september
we are on mid-september...
dell offers me a core 2 duo+ati x1400 for +-5$ the price of a 1.83ghz macbook
ill give a chance to apple until october, if not ill order the dell

but does anyone have any idea how long it might be after the announcement that we will start seeing them appearing in the Apple stores?
 
Placed my order last night

I placed an order for a 2GHz macbook. It is scheduled to be shipped on September 26th. Now if the Merom chips are in the Macbooks and debut on the 25th, I WANT ONE! I noticed that Dell has the Core2 Duo in their E1505 base offering now.
