After tax my bill is about $145. Works for me because this plan allows me an upgrade every 12 months.

Exactly what i have.

Sell previous iPhone on eBay for at least $300 and use that to get the newest model each June.

OMG, how did you do that??

You need to get an iPad sim and activate it (I already had a 3g ipad, which made it easy). Pop it in the iPhone 4 and change the APN to "Broadband". Bingo - you have data. Download the Line2 app from the app store, which gives you a LOCAL number, unlimited texting, and visual voicemail for $9.95 a month. Leave Line2 running in the background all the time. Works just like a regular at&t iphone (minus the mms messages, which I can live without). Been running this setup for 4+ months. Line2 has had 3 outages in that time and they were all 10-30 minutes. For the amount of money that I am saving, I can live with that. Another disclaimer....if you don't have good 3g coverage in your area, this isn't for you. VOIP over edge is pretty crappy. But if you spend most of your time under wifi and strong 3g coverage (which I do).....it is a bargain.

I pay around 30-35€/month

o2 Germany is my provider, monthly fee is about 28€ which includes:
- free calls to o2
- free calls to all landlines within germany
- unlimited data plan (1GB slowdown with tethering enabled)
- 50 free sms

I bought my iphone from Apple for 630€*without a contract. Fairly good deal for a student I believe.

I pay $20 a month for 2000 Minutes free nights and weekends, unlimited m2m, unlimited text and MMS plus $25 for 2gb data, all in all about 50/mo after everything :)

I think I win on this one, not to sound cocky.

3 iPhones on a family plan
unlimited data on all
early nights & weekends
unlimited texting
1400 (shared) minutes

about $250 p/mo

The smiles on the wifes and daughters face when I handed them out: Priceless :D

29€ per month and I have
400 min
100 SMS
2 GB of data
and I paid the iPhone 4 just 99€ (32GB factory unlocked)

quite good, it fits quite well my needs, although I'd love to have more texts messages and I usually pay 32-33€ per month due to extra sms (they're priced 0.12€ each)

ATT about $186
roughly 550 talk minutes
unlimited text messages
2 unlimited data
1 2G data

Of course this includes the federal tax, state tax, joe shmoe tax, brother in law of some senator tax, fee to pay for people that get their cell phone and service free, fcc tax, 911 tax, 911 terrorist tax, the just because tax and of course the just in case the government missed a tax.

:(
I feel that I pay too much. This is my first phone that I have by myself. I have 450 minutes a month (that I never even use, maybe 50, but ATT told me this is the lowest plan).
Unlimited text (my favorite feature)
Unlimited data. I don't use much data anymore since getting my mac. I was wondering if I change this to the $15 a month, will I have to sign a new contract?
I end up spending $110-120 a month for the 3GS. Not even the iphone 4. Makes me want to puke.
