Why anyone would pay for tethering these days is totally beyond me. Carrier's charge way too much to begin with. I have no shame/guilt in jailbreaking and tethering for free.

I'm not a fan of jailbreaking, and I needed it for school. I've only had it a couple weeks, but I'm going to call AT&T and demand my unlimited plan back. Telling them they didn't tell me I would lose it by going to tethering or something. IDK.

Know this is old. But I was paying $400 for T-Mobile. Now $60 with AT&T prepaid. I was originally going to get the $35 Unlimited Saver plan but realized that they slow down your data to 128kb after going over 30gbs of data. I've been traveling a lot lately for the past 2 years and really don't want to deal with the hassle of having my data go at a crawl. So I opted for the $60 Unlimited Ultra prepaid plan.

It includes:
Unlimited talk, text, data with 5G speeds
AT&T Level Up
30GB hotspot
500 mins international calling (which I never use)
Unlimited Texts to 230 countries
25GB data in Canada & Mexico (don't go to either country)
HD Streaming

So far what I've needed it for, it works pretty well. I've been working in areas with around 40k~70k people in one area for the past few days and the data has been out of this world. I think I got 825MB download speeds so that's pretty cool, something I was never able to get with T-Mobile. Pretty good experience so far.

Paying $67/month for one line. Those of us who only need 1 line don't get the savings of those that have 2 or more lines. I have the usual unlimited text/talk/data and a 30 GB hot spot allowance which I have yet to use.

Free for 1 year. Spectrum had an offer $50 home internet and free cellphone plan with 30gb of data. I switched from visible which I was paying $25 for unlimited.

Opps did not see this is from 2010!

$128 a month for two phone lines with T-Mobile plus an Apple Watch. Unlimited calls, texting and data, and 40GB of high-speed mobile hot-spot data. Plus I get free Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV and MLB.tv.

Limited data does not scare me as most the time I am on Xfinity high speed internet at home. At most I use 4-5GB in a month and it rolls over. That makes a large cushion that I would never exceed. When a hurricane came through I lived on cellular for 7 days but AT&T sent a message to me saying data was unlimited and would not count towards your limit. I cannot remember having a dropped call or cellular internet interruption for years.
 
Wow, quite the range of costs here, and confirmation that we in the US are just getting flogged for service that is much much cheaper outside our borders.

AT&T, $165/month all in, unlimited call minutes and texts, 10GB data and unused amount rolls over to next billing period, for two iPhone13minis and one iPadAir with cellular capability. And that includes a supposedly 25% employer discount on base services. Absurd, and looking around for alternatives but none really found yet.
