Oh, if I'm going to spill a beverage, it will almost always be red wine, and a full glass :D

Earlier in the year, we were at Trattoria al Forno, this mid-upper italian restaurant, at the Disney Boardwalk, with our good friends - I actually hit a full glass of wine so hard with my elbow the glass _broke_, and as you might surmise from my earlier post, it was red :D

It got replaced, people were amazing at my elbow-fu, we wound up shutting down the place with the staff, we had a GREAT time :D

I can't drink coffee, the bean makes me ill and I don't handle caffeine well with my heart condition.

I do drink but a lot less than I used to. Now it's maybe one or two drinks per week if that. Probably also related to my heart condition.

I love tea though. Mostly the relaxing herbal types like Plum.

Daily:
Coffee 1-2 cups
NOS Energy drink 1-2 (Caffeine has zero effect on my sleeping habits/patterns)

Weekly:
1-2 beers (Corona, Sam Adams, or Guinness)
1-2 glasses of wine (lots and lots of decent local wineries in SoCal. I'll pick a bottle here and there after a wine tasting)

Monthly:
1-2 Scotch (Macallan)

Ad Hoc:
Margarita or Something with Vodka

Zero coffee as it gives me a weird feeling and I have to pee all the time.

I love alcohol but I can't stay asleep when I drink. I only drink on occasion when I'm with my friends. My wife doesn't drink at all so it's good.

The cure for that is sufficient hydration; I usually drink a large glass of water per alcoholic drink irrespective of whether it is beer or wine.

I typically do the same thing. I cut it back to rarely, because I always feel after a few drinks, I start to lose some mental acuity. I don't particularly like that, and I can still make my sarcastic zany jokes without alcohol as I'm not particularly self conscious.

You are making me crave donuts.

They would go well with vodka.

I'm suprised by the number of none alcohol drinkers there are here on MR. Where I work you are considered weird to not end the day with beer or wine.

Agreed.

It has come as some surprise to me, too.

Mind you, I remember my mother advising: 'Never trust a man who doesn't drink.'

On to my second glass of red wine tonight… the first glass spilt all over the coffee table and floor… *sigh* :)

Heartfelt commiserations.

Two large mugs of caffeinated coffee, one in the morning, one around dinner time. They say coffee is antioxidant so it’s ok. My health stats are good.

At least you did not say carpet. :)

How do you not taste sound and smell colors?!? Maybe I'm just really sensitive to stimulants or something. I can't drink coffee due to the bean but soda or tea with caffeine will make me jittery.

Really shocked at how many folks don't consume alcohol.

I drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day. Sometimes more--sometimes less.

I used to drink more beer, but I hardly ever do now. Though I will on occasion when traveling, especially internationally.

Another alternative for caffeine is drink Mountain Dew although it doesn't have the same kick as coffee during the day. I worked in many call centers where we start work around 10pm and go home by 7am. I don't even like the taste of coffee or anything mocha-flavored but I had to drink it to stay awake.

As for beer, I prefer weed. ;) I'm not a heavy drinker. Two Coronas and I'm already kinda tipsy and red-faced. I'm a lightweight. That's a good thing for friends since I'm low maintenance with low tolerance. Some of my relatives and buddies would need 8-10 bottles of beer to start feeling any buzz.

Drinking can be fun though especially around women. Your confidence goes up and plenty of laughing. I remember all the unexpected makeout sessions with chicks just by drinking. I just don't like the headache that comes with it after or throwing up. While tokin' a joint will just give me munchies, laughter, or a good night's sleep.

Alcohol is more for socializing. I don't mind it. I prefer the taste of wine over beer but I'm somewhat allergic to red wine over white. I become red and itchy. And usually if I do drink, I need to smoke which I rarely do. A cigarette keeps my nerves down from the drinking.

3-4 espressos a day and a couple of filters.
Single or double Jack Daniels every other day after dinner, Fernet or Averna occasionally.

I’m surprised at how much some of us consume every day!

Hmm? Was this sent to right person? :)
I am just jealous of how people can drink coffee so casually! I like the flavors but can't have the beans!

I was just amazed at how you could you drink, what was it, 3 cups a day? Amazing stuff to me.

Usually have a cup of filtered at home before work and then a shot or two of espresso at the office. On weekends, usually a filtered in the morning and afternoon. Stark reduction from the 7 or 8 shots I had some years ago!

Don’t really drink alcohol. Also a stark reduction from my younger days! Would be one beer a month if that.

I was confused by how can you not taste sound and smell colors. :) What do you mean can’t have the beans? Sorry, not trying to be difficult. Oh, and it’s 2 largish mugs, maybe 20oz each. I admit if I interrupt this routine, about a day later I get a coffee headache which is survivable.

When I was a student, I frequently consumed up to ten cups of coffee a day - all those endless, wonderful, conversations in the campus coffee shops where one discussed "life, the universe and everything"; these days, it is usually three or four - on a work day, sometimes as little as one large cup (in the morning) at week-ends.
