I drink about 5-7 cups of coffee daily. Alcohol intake greatly depends on the job, sometimes (mostly) it's zero, sometimes it's anything between 1-10. Those numbers used to be higher, but my age among other things doesn't allow me to lead the life I used to anymore. Which is good.

Right now, riding on a bus with inebriated people all around of me the alcohol count is a bit higher than on a regular Sunday night.

I have been a bartender for the past 18 years; While I was going to school for my bachelor's degree, I was bartending full-time, and then stuck with that, even after getting my degree, bc it was so damn lucrative and I enjoy it so much.
That said, I've watched people drink VERY VERY badly for the last several years (3 of those years, I wasn't even old enough to imbibe!), and as a result, I'm lucky if I have 2-3 alcoholic drinks a month!
My parents weren't big drinkers either, and it was never forbidden, even in my high school years, so I guess I just never felt like it was anything special.

Now, I am quasi-addicted to energy drinks!
On a day off, while running errands (etc), I easily have 2 cans of either RockStar or Monster (only sugar-free stuff).

However, on a night that I'm closing the bar.... that's easily a 3-4 can night! (Don't Judge!!!)

All things considered, I am still (pretty) young... watch it!
And my heart is in great shape!
I have discussed this with my doctor and he's really not all that concerned at the present.

I drink 3 cups of tea and one cup of coffee daily.

The odd glass of wine during the week and a few at weekends but also lager if in the mood (not together). Not a heavy drinker but do enjoy it.

I got wasted at my works Xmas do last night though so it’s a quiet weekend from now on lol.

Seems you had a good time, though!

I have three of those coming up next week, currently looking into possibly relocating into a monastery after that.
Yeah that’s the main thing. Nice to have fun with colleagues away from the office and have a good giggle. The tiredness and hangover have gone and I’m cooking dinner. I opened the fridge and ‘ooh hello’ I saw a beer!

My low drinking philosophy has gone out of the window this weekend but it’s been a while. That’s what coffee is for in the morning as they say :p

As much as I love good craft beer, sometimes that sort of stuff is easier to drink on a blistering hot day or when I'd rather drink something other than water but don't want to get bogged down flavor wise. We were hit with unusually hot weather for this time of year not too long ago and I had a similar beer at 10 in the morning while it was about 90*F outside at 11 AM. Can't say I was ashamed for doing so. :p

We had a day like that here in 1976. My parents hadn’t met then though.

Britain has a good craft ale industry too. Lidl have a section where they stock local ales to the store and it’s always nice to try drinks that you had no idea existed just a few miles away. ‘Knarly Fox’ is a nice pale ale.

Coffee is 6-8 cups a day. I used to despise it. Then a coffee nut friend introduced me to the whole pourover method using a gooseneck kettle and how coffee doesn't have to be bitter. Now I love trying different flavors as we have quite a few great local roasters.

Sometimes a bit of bourbon or cognac at the end of the day.

about once a month I'll have a J&B or Crown Royal on rocks.

How do you feel about Bulliet brand? We were getting a lot of call for it, and we now carry their standard bourbon with a lot of success--its really gaining popularity.

I can't stand fireball--its literally the worst kind of rotgut whiskey they could find and then they added crappy cinnamon flavor.

I also sell a lot of Woodford Reserve; not too bad, either

Bulleit is okay, just a notch above average. I think they are owned by one of the big conglomerates.

I'm not much of a bourbon drinker, I prefer rye myself.

Willett is good, hard to get; Van Winkle is also good, definitely priced to be a special occasion drink. High West Rye is pretty good as well as the Redemption ryes. Never got into R1. I do like Old Potrero, another good sipping rye.

That said, Have you tried the CR (northern) Rye? We sell a ton of Crown (including the apple and vanilla), but only a handful of our bigger hitters really liked the Rye.
The toasted caramel... wow... dangerously good.
I know, I know... there's no need to flavor up an already good thing.... but It really is delicious on the rocks ;)

Bulleit is owned by Diageo (same as Capt'n Morgan and Ketel One), btw ;)

Nope. I like rye because it isn't ladened down with extraneous flavors. It was the most popular brown spirit in the late 19th century.

The popular spirits here in 2017 represent a completely different mindset.

For one thing, I'm not paying $$$ to taste ordinary booze. If a bartender wants to offer me a taste, I'm fine with that, but in no way am I going to pay for a shot of something that I probably would dislike anyhow.

If you are a bar/restaurant owner, you should know that some of your clientele will be skeptical about changes in the bar inventory.

Anyhow, best of luck to you.

lol, our inventory practically NEVER changes! lol
we get bottles of stuff for promos, and that's it.
In the 25 years that we've been doing this, a promo has resulted In maybe 2 changes to permanent inventory ;)

I just like to see what kind of stuff the rest of the world likes ;)

How do you feel about Bulliet brand?

Bulleit is a very solid, mid-tier Bourbon. I'd put it in the same - maybe just a touch under - Four Roses Small Batch bourbon.

Funny enough, Bulleit is manufactured at the Four Roses distillery - and both are owned by, of all companies, the Japanese Kirin Brewing :)

How does that work?
A question I've never asked...
I know the KB owns the distillery, but they don't own Daigeo; So is KB's Four Roses just contracted by Diageo to produce their product?

I am suspicious of how many people claim they rarely drink. Kind of reminds me going to a sports bar, pub, or some other high caloric establishment for lunch and everyone orders a salad and a Diet Coke.
I’m not disagreeing with you. But I would categorize myself as a light drinker. I am currently drinking beer at a rate of about 2-12oz bottles a month, and about 2-3 shots of bourbon a week, a single shot for each occurrence. I never order alcohol when dining out, wait strike that, maybe a house margarita once a month. :)

I recently purchased a pint of Bulliet to check it out. Overall it’s smoother than my favorite (Wild Turkey 101) but I prefer the latter. This link, post 337: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/favorite-whiskey-merged.535953/page-14

Do you like this beer? Instead of setting you up, I’ll say up front, I consider it The Rot Gut of beers. :p

I’ve not heard the term, sour beer. What would be an example? Because of Budweiser, I grew up thinking beer was this barely palatable drink you endured to get a buzz. :)

Budweiser tastes like a Rochefort 10 compared to any sour beer I've had. I can only suggest you try and find one and report back from the tastebud repair center.
