As my friends like to make fun of me for drinking Guinness: Guinness - The beer that drinks like a meal!

Irish 7 course meal: A potato and 6 pints of Guinness! (Hey, I'm Irish descent!)

I really like Guinness, but only from draft. I've never really liked the bottled and canned versions, even with the widget in them. I really like the old Guinness ads, as well. I have a few of them around my house. Oddly, though, I have found a few stouts I actually like better than Guinness. But, I guess you never forget your first love. :)

What can I say, I'm a sentimental person. :)

Actually, that isn't too far from the truth. Although Sam Adams was the first craft beer I ever really like, it was Guinness that showed me that good beer could be so much more than the yellow water most America mega-breweries sell. It wasn't even the Drought in the bottle. It was good old Guinness Extra Stout, with the err..tannish/yellow label. Actually, it was probably a good thing I drank it straight from the bottle. Seeing it in a draft glass probably would have intimidated me.

im a teen, i dont normally get out that much.. especially since im back at uni. it will be like once every 6 months.

not a big beer or wine drinker, mainly vodka. when i go out its mainly to relieve some stress, it does wonders and it feels great not to have any worries for the night. normally would have 10-15 drinks in that night..

soo true! yet so many folks love that green beer.

Ah well, as P.T. Barnum was rumored to have said: Nobody ever went broke underestimating the American public. :D

What I found sad was something I read a while back that Budweiser, of all beers, was one of the top selling imports in the U.K. Huh? With all those good domestics and all those excellent brews from the Continent, they choose Budwesier? (And not the rather tasty real Czech Budweiser)

Are they somehow selling cheaper? I cannot imagine the appeal!

I just used to drink a few at weekends, and then my mom died a short time ago, and I started to suffer from Panic Attacks! (Really not fun, at all)

I found a couple of beers would completely chill me out.
I tried smoking weed, but that would just make me paranoid!

So, I reckon about 4 pints of beer most days!!

I know that might seem like a lot, but I know of some people that can finish off a half a bottle of vodka or two bottles of wine in one night, no problem.

And coming from an irish back ground doesn't help, it's almost acceptable behavior!

Thank God! I have no idea how they stay in business! Who drinks that stuff??

Sadly, lots of folks here in the good old USA. Check out this article discussing the top selling beers in the US. It's a couple of years old, but I feel the numbers haven't changed much.

Here's a list for the top sellers from various countries:

drank lots when i had 3 college roommates. it was a 4 room private pad. drank gallons of jagermeister. it was ridiculous.

moved out and just had a place with my girl. we would have flavored martini like drinks after work. also went to this movie theatre that had a applebees in the same parking lot. so we would drink tons there then walk over and watch movies until we were sober to drive.

got real health problems. all sorts of things going on. cant drink nor do any mind altering substances now. i still have a drink every couple of weeks or so. but i dont get drunk anymore.

I feel like I got that part of my life out of my system.

One year in college I drink a lot - got drunk once or twice every week. That was when I, too, had 3 roommates.

After that, I'd drink once a week or so, but get drunk once a month or so. Since I graduated college and went to law school (where I am still), that greatly decreased.

I now drink maybe 4-5 times a year. I generally only drink one or two drinks - usually a White Russian :) The last time I was drunk was new year's eve 2008 - and that was unintentional, I greatly overestimated my alcohol tolerance, that night sucked. LOL

As often as possible. As someone who comes from a German and Irish family...it's in my blood. Vodka gimlets, Vespers, rum and cokes, wine, beer, bring it on....
