Amen to that.

My dual 1.42 shows a build date of late Feb. 2003 - two to three weeks before I received it. I've upgraded it to 2GB of RAM; at some point a 9800 card may go in to replace the 9000, but it is still a very fast system and I hope to get three more years out of it as my home desktop before it gets reassigned for further use somewhere else in the house.

My 1.5 GHz PB is a few months shy of 2 yrs.

The ID App shows build location unknown, but I've just gotten on the floor and looked at the sticker "Assembled in the USA"!

well i opted for a single 1.6 instead. and no SATA or upgraded video card (just two 16mb cards) and i'm up to 1.25 gigs for ram now

i intend on getting a macbookpro Rev B (i don't trust rev A.) but i needed something to tie me over untill then (editing raw was unbearable on a 400 mhz)

Well, as mentioned here, my plans were to upgrade to a 17" PowerBook G4, and I did it:

Since I still have the VillageTronic card, and this PB intrinsically supports a second extended-desktop monitor via the DVI connector, I am now running a triple-screen setup at work :)

My 733 QuickSilver G4 (2001) just turned four, and I don't see why I can squeeze at least another year out of it. It chugs from time to time, but the increase in RAM certainly helped (just went from 768mbs to 1.25gbs). My 1.2 iBook is 1 year, 8 months old, and still plenty fast

I have the same, about 4 1/2 years old. I have a Thinkpad from work so I'm in no hurry to upgrade, but I am reaching a point where I want a huge screen. (Dell 24")

I currently use a Power Mac G5 1.6ghz. Got it when it was released. Upgrades to it include 2gb of RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro. Has served me well. I think it was in June 2003 when these were announced. I plan to replace it with the Power Macintel when they're released.

17" Powerbook: October 2005 (Maybe I should of waited for the MacBook? Oh well...)

D2.5 G5 PowerMac: August 2004

Upgrade plans:

new powerbook (intel) in 2007 (if I can hold out that long) PB's need a serious speed bump.

new desktop: somewhere around 2008-2009 (again, if I can wait that long)

I'm writing this with my rev. C iMac (20" with 1.5 GB of RAM) which I bought in November. Thus it is 2.5 months old. A gorgeous machine.

I'm using my ultra-powerful iBook G3 800MHz....I think it's time for something new....

powerbook - 4 months

pc - just shy of 4 years  and the sad thing is it is still as fast as most new computers today... i guess thats what i get for using the absolutely best parts available at the time :p

Strangely enough, the most powerful machine in my home is also the oldest. 1.33Ghz 15" Powerbook with 1Gb of RAM. Had it since August 2004 and still going strong apart from some dents in the aluminium.

I have a Mac mini 1.25Ghz with 512Mb of RAM that I've had since August 2005 which I use for my "main" computer, it's got all my music and e-mail on it. I know it's not as powerful but I think the desktop form-factor lends itself more to main computer... somehow.

And finally for taking to college, I have a 1.33Ghz 12" iBook with 768Mb RAM that I've had since December 2005.

Upgrade plans: I introduced a family member to the world of Mac and she bought a 17" Intel iMac. I was there to set it up and give her an intro and it's so gorgeous! I want one! So maybe that. But not till later in the year.

Though quite new to me, my iMac is 2 and a half years old - built early sptember 2003 in china. And I bought it to replace a much newer PC!

Well My very first Mac is a 20" iMac Rev C. 2.1G5 w/1.5GB ram. It is now 4 months 3 days old. I think i will be getting an iBook or something portable soon.

12" PB Rev D. 1 year old in February.

My mother has my old (Oct. 1999) iMac DV 400 Mhz. I popped in a new and much bigger hard drive for her last year and it's still going strong.

My 400 mhz G4 is 5 (But only mine for a little while) years old and still going strong!
It just (about 2 months ago) replaced my even older iMac G3 300 mhz.

Someday I'll be able to afford a new Mac. :)

I have not purchased it yet(mac laptop), my computer(pc) I have now is a month old.

Had to work awhile to afford it.

9.6GHz over 4 cores :D 3 gbs of ram adressed to each processor.

My iBook is 3 years and 7 months young.

My MBP is -14 days old, if Apple's estimated shipping time is correct. ;)

Bought this PBook last week of June '05. So that makes it... mmm... 1 ... 2... ...2 (ahem) 3.... 8 months old + change :D

The RAM is only 2 months old, and moving from 512MB to 1.5GB feels like getting a new laptop ;)

My first Mac is on the way to my house :D

However, believe or not, I'm currently using my 9 years old PII-300 w/ 256mb of ram PC. And yes, I'm still using it and Windows 2000 is best the OS of the Windows families, never freeze in 9 years :D
