Excellent idea. I bet that makes an amazing difference... depending on a few things, you might be able to make it even faster. When you're by your mac, use mactheripper to pull DVD contents onto your computer... when you have quite a few or you're ready to leave your computer, get the ones from the PC, and the ones from mactheripper, and put them all into your Handbrake Queue.
I have mactheripper on the MBP, but haven't used it yet since I don't have a lot of free space to store multiple DVD images. 250 GB hard drive and I think right now I have 10.2 GB free.
or maybe you could just directly rip them off your PC using handbrake?? (there is a PC version).
or you could rip all of the dvd's onto the PC hard drive, then locate the files via network and rip using handbrake using some sort of batch conversion??
I had no idea! This would save tons of time between transferring from PC to external and then having to keep my mac connected to the external and not able to move it around at will. I'll look into it tonight! The network thing just isn't plausible due to increased processing time across the network, especially cross platform between Leopard and Vista. Bleh. But I love the handbrake for PC idea. Thanks for this.
