Update your billing info today , as I make sure it's all good, prep a few devices , some with store app and also desktop browser and keep trying both to see which one comes on line first.

Last time I was able to order an iPhone 8 via app before the desktop store even came back online.

The obvious, turn off your torrents :p

Bit of luck involved. Good luck all.

Remember that traditionally, only GSM carrier (not unlocked) phones are available on Day 1. Unlocked GSM phones usually show up a few months later. Of course Verizon and Sprint phones are unlocked on the GSM side but are missing GSM bands which may or may not be an issue.

I just did and you’re totally spot on. Thanks for the tip! Glad I tried with an 8 first to avoid wasting time. I’ll stick with my Tmobile variant!

When you eventually put that favorite in your basket and check out, it will take you through a little detour with an integration to the carrier database. You'll have to provide the wireless phone number for the account, an account password and I think the last 4 digits of your social (not sure about that last one...forgot). You can try it out by (partly) processing an order for an iPhone 8.

Meanwhile in Germany:
- no Apple Pay
- PayPal a payment option in iTunes.app/App Store.app, their Online store but NOT Apple Store.app

And since I don't have a credit card (debit cards are still used a lot here) I can't use thr Apple Store.app, and will have to do more clicks/taps before I can order. Unfortunate.

If I pay the full amount upfront, will the phone be unlocked and work with aby carrier around the world. Also, will I have to pay any extra monthly carrier charges?

iPhone X pre-orders begin this Friday, October 27 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on a first come, first served basis, and customers that want any chance of receiving the smartphone on launch day will need a combination of speed and luck.

The quickest way to pre-order the iPhone X is to use the Apple Store app on iPhone. Prospective buyers that want any chance of receiving the iPhone X when it launches Friday, November 3 should follow the steps below to be ready.

Note that these steps are for customers paying full price for the iPhone X upfront, and may not apply to those who owe money towards a previously carrier financed device.

I'm an IUP user, and I am pre-approved. Do I have to use the app or can I use the website? In past years I've had a few windows open on different servers to see which can load first. Does anybody else have thoughts on VPN use to improve chances of getting through? In past years it never seems to be about user speed, but rather when their servers start working in your area. Seems VPN could possibly help with this.

Officially less than 24 hours now until pre-orders begin.

I hope all the websites got their act together and there's no repeat of last year!

Hi all

U.K. Here. How do you do a shop pickup and take out the 20 month interest free payment as I don't have any payments on Apple Store. I want to pay at store or take out interest free and store
Pick up. Can you still do this in the app for the pre orders.

Cheers

BTW, I think the short supply hype is a little insane right now. Are we positive that there are going to be gone in minutes?

If rumors are even somewhat accurate that there will only be 2-3 million devices available at preorder (what - ~500k per config?), delivery dates will almost certainly slip within seconds.

We’ll know soon enough.

I'm outside the US which version should I use? I don't see an unlocked option. I will have it delivered to New York.

Also if I get Apple upgrade program can I upgrade anywhere or does it have to be in the US?

You guys think it matters if you do in store pick up vs delivery?

It all depends on the delivery service your particular carrier uses.

I chose home delivery over in-store pick up last year. They said it would arrive by 3 afternoon, but I didn't get my phones until past 10pm.

Verizon and SIM Free have the exact same bands. There are only 2 models of iPhone 7/8/X.

Hi!, I live also in Germany and near an apple store in Hannover. Maybe you can use the option "collect in the apple store" and pay it there (only if you live near an apple store of course.)

I mean do you think you would have any less chance getting it for in store pickup ?

I don't know in other countries but last year was a mess in Germany. No iphones in apple stores until a few weeks later the release. Tomorrow I'll try to buy the new one via pick up in the store. It worked with my ipad pro so... lets see :)

I can pay using PayPal on apple.com's online store, no problem with that. Keep in mind that with "collect in the apple store" you will be prompted for the pick-up time. That means extra clicks. Each click counts this time

strange... I bought the new ipad pro and I selected the option "pick up in the store" with no extra clics. Will try tomorrow again with this strategy :)

I’m just curious if instore pickup draws from a previously defined stock allocated to each store or they send those out through the distribution channels after preorders.

Has anyone noticed that Apple logs the date when the iPhone X was first added to favorites?

Could they possibly give priority tomorrow to those who added the iPhone X to their favorites after the keynote?

I was going through the App Store app and updated my CC and all But they don’t give no unlocked phones up for sale I believe they offered the 8 with it right away can anyone tell me how you buy the T-Mobile one without contract

I suppose anything is possible, but basically, no.

They’re essentially almost the same... just slightly longer. The X should be a welcome trade off for people who are sick of their Plus, but want all the latest features!
I agree that people who would opt for the Plus will absolutely love the X (and that’s a lot of people). But for someone like me who finds the 8 too big, the X isn’t as attractive. I’m leaning toward getting an 8 simply because I love the design. But I’d rather have a refreshed SE.

I can’t see the Apple Pay symbol in the app. Have Apple Pay working on my phone but doesn’t seem to be anywhere in this app, even if I enter something into the bat!

Is this an Aussie thing
