If we order from Apple.com through our Verizon account, can the monthly cost of the phone be added to the bill?

Yes, you can choose if you want to do a one-time full price payment or do a 24-month installment plan (eligible for upgrade after 1 year).

Where is it displayed that there are missing GSM bands on the Verizon/Sprint models? I could have sworn I saw a chart that showed the ATT/T-Mobile & Verizon/Sprint models equip the same GSM bands.

I think there is a lot of mis-information being spread or as Trump calls it fake news lol. All iphone X models support all GSM bands. Also someone is saying only CDMA models are unlocked I don't believe that is true (more fake news lol) the fella is confusing unlocked with band type. If you pay full price for any CDMA or GSM iPhone x I believe they are all unlocked meaning if it's GSM you can use it with any GSM carrier and if it's CDMA you can use it with any GSM or CDMA carrier since the CDMA model also supports GSM. This much I know.

Yes. But you most likely have to get a Verizon phone at a store by paying full price. The online store requires that you have a Verizon account or set up new service with Verizon. You can buy a Verizon phone at a brick-and-mortar Apple Store if you insist. The geniuses will tell you it won’t work on a non-Verizon service, but you just keep insisting, smile, and tell them it’s not their problem.

I’ve been doing this for years now, and they work fine on AT&T and T-Mobile. I can’t vouch for Sprint, though.

Yeah this was also my plan and I hate what Apple is doing I have expressed this to them. I should be able to pick any phone GSM or CDMA pay full cost and be asked nothing. I confirmed today by picking a verizon iphone 8 then almost checking out but it asks you for all sorts of verizon account info so it cannot be done online at least. I too believe the CDMA version in this case verizon is a better buy because you get the Qualcomm chip which most likely will work better with GSM carriers like Tmo vs the Intel chip. Also the phone has much better resell value when you decide to sell it! I'm going to end up buying the Tmo version since there is no other choice online at pre launch.

I’m preapproved for the 256GB one but I’m going to change to the 64GB when preorders start. Does anyone know how smooth this process is?

BTW, I think the short supply hype is a little insane right now. Are we positive that there are going to be gone in minutes?
Oh yeah for sure!

You forgot to mention
You're all being a bit melodramatic here, no? Apple is reported to be releasing at least 2-3 million iPhone X's. These will take at least 20-30 minutes to sellout, perhaps several hours.
hahahahahhhhhahahahahaha

I have been gifted apple store credit that I can use to buy products online with...can I use the preloaded credit on my account towards my iPhone X preorder?
Store credit as in an Apple gift card? Yeah should be able to.

More like 10 minutes or even less if the servers don't start crashing which they will!

I'm on the upgrade program.

It doesn't seem like we can add the phone to our favorites.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

The Apple store app has a banner at the top telling you that you’re pretty-approved for a phone. Should be what we click when it all starts?

The support rep said that this option will appear when the order process goes live at 12:01am. But I am not convinced that he knows FOR SURE this will be an option. He may have simply 'guessed' that the option will become available...

If it does not become available, I guess I'll just buy a Verizon or Sprint model (full price, no contract). These are the same as the SIM-free model. My actual carrier is AT&T.

Sounds like the same BS I previously received from Apple chat on another issue. No SIM free for a few months that's usually how it goes.

I hear DJ Khaled has been in touch with his friends at Apple again. It seems he’s given permission for the most powerful servers to be dedicated to website traffic. I’d head there first guys ;)

Hahaha thank you lol

What do you do when none of your cards offer Apple Pay? Doesn't your usual credit card info work in the app?
You don't have to use Apple pay you can use any supported credit card but Apple pay if pre-setup will allow you to pay faster.

Make sure to have all your account information up-to-date and billing information. And I would have multiple devices running side-by-side to see which opens first between the application or website.
Great idea bring out all your devices. Crap the servers are going to crash sooner than I expected didn't see this one coming lol.

For anyone that will be using a payment plan through their carrier, you CANNOT order through the app. Only the website or calling your provider
Also PayPal only works on web site darn apple!

Tbh I can’t wait! I’m hoping to watch a few episodes after I get the pre order :)

I live in Cali so 12 am isn’t that late. 3 am for the east coast people is late though
Yes it sucks for East Coast folks apple needs to get rid of this midnight thing it is so 1999 now.

If anyone is interested, I made a mockup of the X and the 8 to get a size comparison. I was surprised how big the X actually is, much too large for my taste. The 8 looks svelte compared with it.

They’re essentially almost the same... just slightly longer. The X should be a welcome trade off for people who are sick of their Plus, but want all the latest features!

How can you add two phones? One paying full price and one on att next plan? Or do you have to do multiple orders?

Hi guys...

Is it possible to select it without carrier at the US Apple Store app ? I mean no sim-lock one full-time payments, because I live outside US, but have a friend over there... he would sending me when it’s arrived

Am I correct you cannot do the Upgrade Program approval if you are not already in the program??? Thank you, been trying to figure that out.

So am I still ok to buy a Verizon device and pay in full even though I have AT&T? I would do this since I want a Qualcomm modem and the possibility of CDMA coverage...
Or will it try to make me log into a Verizon account if I do it that way?

I'm planning on blowing $1000 in one go (don't judge me - I have been saving and have sold some other stuff to finance this..)

The app will currently let me add a T-Mobile one (which is my network) and I can choose the option to pay in one go. So surely, that's independent of carrier? I'm not doing an upgrade or anything like that - it's just that there are no unlocked versions available as of now for me to add into my favourites.

When I bought a 7 Plus last year, I went into the Apple Store in Los Angeles and the guy asked me what network. I told him T-Mobile and I'm sure he said that if you pay full price, they're all the same and unlocked. They just ship them with a carrier sim card inside for you.

I'm sure that's correct, isn't it? I'm not buying a T-Mobile locked version from Apple for $1000, am I?

That’s wrong. The phone would be unlocked but only have GSM and LTE bands (no CDMA). It would be the same as the unlocked AT&T phone but not the same as a Verizon phone (which are always unlocked). With GSM phones, Apple started using Intel modems, whereas Verizon phones still use Qualcomm modems. I’m not sure about Sprint, but I think their phones are locked unlike Verizon ones even though they are the same when it comes to supported bands and technologies.

The best approach is to buy a Verizon phone for full price and use it on AT&T or T-Mobile. T-Mobile is great if you travel to Canada. Best coverage you can imagine, incredibly fast LTE, and no extra charges whatsoever.

Does anyone know if Apple will require credit approval or carrier verification to purchase the iPhone X? I am on a family plan now and am not the primary account holder. However, I have selected the pay-up-front option on the Apple Store app.

The problem with getting the Verizon model is that the only way you can buy it on Apple's website is if you have a Verizon account. Meaning you'd need to open an account at Verizon and then use that information to buy a new phone. It's just more of a hassle. All the phones that I've ever sold 'unlocked' end up with a sim-card in a GSM network for whoever buys it. I'll take the risk.

Thanks for the info, by the way.
Are you sure?
Right now, the app is letting me add a Verizon version at full cost to my favourites without asking for any account details. Or am I missing something?

I’m starting to like martinis. I’m thinking I don’t want to try this preorder crap totally sober.

I’m trying to help my husband get one. He says he’s not too worried one way or the other but I get hyper adrenaline just from catching sharks in Animal Crossing. So yeah, a martini or maybe a Moscow mule. :p I’ll just keep hitting onscreen buttons and likely end up ordering a Mac Pro that I’ll mistake for a trash bin when I’m recovering from the hangover.

When you eventually put that favorite in your basket and check out, it will take you through a little detour with an integration to the carrier database. You'll have to provide the wireless phone number for the account, an account password and I think the last 4 digits of your social (not sure about that last one...forgot). You can try it out by (partly) processing an order for an iPhone 8.
