how to unlock Iphone 3gs, modem 05.16.05

I don't think it just only me. It is the entire jailbreaking community including the Dev team versus you. You are only person I have known, who joined for the last few days claiming you can unlock 05.16 baseband.

I hear you. However, if you want to help, please post step by step tutorial on how to do it. Once there are few more members can validate that including me then we can confirm it.

If this turns out to be true, it will be a great news for jailbreaking community. Until then, I'm buying it.

My problem persist... my wife just got herself a new Iphone 4S and I'm stuck with an old Iphone 3gs that only works on wifi

I just follow the step he provided...I don't have a tmobile sim card so I can't tell you guys if it works, my friend is gonna let me borrow his sim card to see if it worked. I'll let you know in a few hrs.

i just list one iphone 3gs on ebay,ios 5.01 baseband 05.16.05 unlocked and jailbreaked take a look, the same one you see in the picture

Just because you list it as unlocked it doesnt mean it is.
That baseband cannot be unlocked with ultrasnow so making that claim is false and also fraudulent selling it as something that its not.
Unless the phone is "factory unlocked".
You can post any pics or whatever you want but ultrasnow does not unlock that baseband version.
Anyway, why Im arguing with a clueless newbie anyway?

All other well known and trusted iphone hackers, jailbreakers and unlockers cant unlock that baseband version but a newbie that cant spell and just registered with a dozen posts and a bunch of nonsense claims can do it.

He didn't do any steps, his phone is factory unlocked from Apple.

1. Is it factory unlocked phone?

2. Phone has been jailbroken, using Fake Operator, makeitmine etc... to change the carrier name to T-Mobile.

What did he use to unlock it? he said he installed Cydia to unlock

As per Apple website, this phone is a 3GS, 8gb phone and it has never been activated. I believe it is a factory unlocked phone and that the reason you can restore, upgrade to the latest firmware and you still can use it with any GSM network.

Crystal is correct, Look at the production date of the phone Week 48 of 2011, it's a factory unlocked 3GS.

I've heard stories of people bringing in their 3GS phone to get it replaced (around December 2011), and when they exchanged it with a refurbished one, they are factory unlocked.

start ireb (run as administrador} put the phone in dfu mode open itune restore ipsw4.1 let it finish,will come up with a erro turn off phone put phone on dfu mode again restore ipsw without ireb,there u go the phone will reboot,download ipsw 5.01 do a custom ipsw with snobreese restore custom ipsw 5.01with itune ,jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.10b1 them unlock it cydia 1.2.5

I just came up with one problem which he didn't mention, everytime the iphone is rebooted or tun off, it gets stuck on the apple logo. Any solution huang??

hehe, that is not unlock
that is tethered Jailbreak, which means you need to connect your device to the Itunes every time you reboot...

they're not going to believe it until they try it, but as for me all I can say is thank you bcuz it worked for me. And by installing Corona 1.0.5 and rebooted the device, it fix the problem I had with the the device getting stuck on apple logo after rebooting. THANKS MAN!!

my 3gs is not a factory unlock iphone, I bricked my previuos 3gs by flashing the ipad bb, so I went to the apple store to replace it and they replaced the iphone (believe it or not) so I can assure you is not factory unlock.
