I think there will be a lot of people to criticize the new iPhone if it has the same form factor. They might as well call it the 4SS if it's looks exactly the same but with better/newer hardware.

If the design stayed the same this place would go into melt down! :D

I personally like the design but people do love change don't they.

How will you feel if on the outside it's an Iphone 4/4S but has LTE, 10mp camera, better flash, A6 duel core, NFC?

I won't mind a bit how the next one looks. The current 4/4S looks great and if the next one is the same, I won't gripe at all. If Apple changes it, I am confident that it will be another beautiful product.

Since they are nearly always wonderful looking, functionality is where its really at for future upgrades.

This would be the best iPhone ever! People would snap these up in record numbers.

Don't care about design but do care about screen size. If its not 4+ inches, I'll stick with my 4S until they do come out with one. Unless, of course, my 4S dies...lol.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4s)

One this is for sure it'll be called...

iPhone

It'll be introduced as 'the new iPhone'

Then 50 mac rumours users will say hold on 'the new iPhone' is a silly name

Then 100 more will point out its just 'iPhone'

1 will be sarcastic and say no no no its the 'iPhone 5th gen'

I'm pretty sure that Apple isn't perusing these boards to see if they'll lose market share should they NOT increase screen size in the next iPhone. All of you threatening to buy Android, why wait? Just do it now and start enjoying the bigger screen.

I mean, come on, really? Making statements that come off as threats - like Apple or any of us really care whether you're going to stop buying Apple products if they don't offer what you want.

It's like telling Honda that you will stop buying their cars if they don't make a new Accord version that offers a Corvette engine, AWD and price it at $22k. Sure - it would be a great car no doubt, but the reality is that Honda, like Apple, is going to do what they want, based upon what they believe is the thing the greatest number of customers will buy into.

It's fine to express your desires for what you want to see in the next iPhone, as a point of discussion, but the threats of leaving are just dumb.

I'm torn. I am becoming more and more interested in WP7 and the hardware coming out. I'm starting to feel that the iPhone design is becoming a bit stale for me. The two things holding me back at the moment are: 1. The iPhone 4S's fantastic camera, I have a 3mo old so I'm getting a ton of use out of it. Although I'm curious how the Titan II's camera will perform in real world situations (I also expect that Apple would further improve upon the camera in the next update so it could negate this). 2. Apps, while I believe that WP7 has good quality apps, there are a few apps on iOS that I would have a hard time doing without (i.e. Camera+). After being in the iOS ecosystem for multiple years I have a lot invested in apps which is hard to give up as well.

Screen size is probably the area that I would like to see Apple make some changes the most. I'm not asking for a massive screen, but 4" would be very nice. If they did that with LTE I would be very happy regardless of any other changes they make/don't make.

I won't care if the next iPhone looks the same. I upgraded to the 4S back in September, so I won't be able to upgrade to the next one if I wanted to. Give us the major design change on the one after.

I doubt that the next iphone's screen would be bigger 'cause that will affect the Retina display:D, unless they double the current resolution but the ppi by then would be monstrous (nearly 600ppi). But such high resolution on such a tiny screen is not really practical, is it?
Also the iPhone 4's design is nearly perfect, I dont think there will be much change anyway.
Still, if the 6th Iphone have this design. I would buy it without a second thought. Using either ipad 1 or ipad 2 design for the iphone would be awesome

Judging by the recent release of the new Ipad, iPhone 5 (or 4Gs:D) would have the same spec anyway, Apple A5x, Improved Siri, 1gb Ram, 16-32-64 version, 4g LTE, 12MP camera I guess:rolleyes:

Simply because my being here has absolutely nothing to do with either of the points I made;)

you don't care about new features, could be cause you don't want any, so you took the time out of your life to come and post it on the internet to the rest of the people, that do care?

Where did I imply the major upgrade would be just LTE? I am merely saying that adding new technologies to products that sell well are likely to have others adopt the technology as well. NFC, in most places, will likely not get popular without something like the iPhone incorporating the technology.

I can get on board with this. But I think there are plenty of people, especially those new to the OS that think it's just fine. I think we are in a minority here, brother.
Trust me we are not a minority..... many people have been saying that iOS needs a new look.

I would like it to look different. It would be pretty boring if there were 3 models that all looked alike. Car manufacturers do this too. They come out with a redesigned body, then tweak it for a couple of years, then totally redesign it again. Just look at the Mustang. I don't think the screen size will change due to retina display and keeping apps standard but I would really love to see it getting thinner and (hopefully) getting rid of the glass back.

It has the same look for 5 years already:D, new look is not possible
Besides, iOS is known for their high understandability. It is so simple, any new user could get use to it in a short time.
If you want a new look, just jailbreak it and customize whatever you want:rolleyes:

For personal consumption, I don't think I would care because I don't plan on getting a new iPhone if all is good with my iPhone 4S. I hope to keep my iPhone 4S for about 3 years.

But yeah, I would be a little disappointed if the form factor doesn't change, even with all the internals changing. I do get excitement from new devices even if I won't be getting one.

I already do but sometimes it lags like hell which is why I am running stock iOS,and besides if apple really put there mind to it they can make it easy and look different. But thanks for being rude.
