Well... not as great as when I was on 8.4.1, but not extremely bad. At least I can enjoy some 9 iOS features on my 6+ like 3D Force touch icon quick menus, and peek and pop... which I couldn't do on previous iOS. I don't regret upgrading so far...

Am using a 64gb iPhone 6s Plus for close to 20 days now..getting close to 9+ hours of usage every time and I charge once in 2 days . When i say 9+ hours of usage it's based on mixed usage of mail apps, Safari, messaging, games, photos, YouTube videos etc (in order of usage).. Happy that I just need to charge the phone once in 2 days..

One thing I have learnt is that the juice you get out of your device depends a lot on what you had been using it for... Videos, photos, games and video calls obviously will consume much more battery life as compared to simply browsing and texting the whole day.. Maybe in real world, tsmc phones run 30 mins to an hour more than the Samsung ones but end of the day it won't matter to people who just want get home by Eod with around 20% battery remaining atleast as both chips will guarantee that...

Does anyone know what kind of battery life I should get on the 6s Plus when using GPS?

I managed to drain around 40% after one hour of navigation.

I'm down to 15% after a little over 5 hours of usage (including the 1 hour of navigation).

GPS and using satnav especially drains mobiles like nothing else.

I know, but I feel like I should be able to get more than 2 hours worth.
It depends on different variables, one of the main being what kind of a signal you have as you move along and if it fluctuates.

Pretty happy with my 6s 64gb with the Samsung chip. This is light to medium use on a mix of 4G and wifi. 1.5 days use is very realistic for me.

Biggest determinant is signal - I tested in a one 'dot' signal area on LTE yesterday for an hour watching YouTube and browsing. It was using closer to 17% an hour (about 6 hours total screen on at that rate).

I also have a 16gb TSMC 6s and I get very similar results. Overall much better battery than I had on the 6.

6s+ - Very little background activity.. mostly all screen use.. top was mail & safari. Haven't plugged it in for three days. No complaints!

Is this decent for a 6S? First full day with it after upgrading from a gs4 so obviously it is pretty insane considering the battery is 1/3 smaller. Had it plugged into my PC for maybe 15min to transfer photos. Also low power mode overnight.

With low power mode and airplane mode I was able to get another 2 hours exactly of use. Pretty satisfied with this battery even though this is only my first day with it. Have to say I was not too optimistic about a 1715 mah battery on a 2015 phone...

@lamborghini392 Both of those stats look decent for a 6S. I probably would've kept my 6S if it gave me a solid 8 hours of battery - I averaged around 6 hours with normal use. I'm happy I ended up exchanging for a plus, though.

Eh I was pretty easy on the phone yesterday. My conservative habits carried over from my GS4 (the thing couldn't even get 2 hours of SOT). I don't want to fuel the fire... but I also have a TSMC CPU... Still can't say how impressed I am that a 1715 mah battery managed almost 5 hours of SOT at around 30% brightness.

I use my 5S on wifi only & manage 5-6 hours(claimed 10) would anyone think I could get much more out of a 6S ? (Anywhere near the 11 Apple claim) using Facebook flipboard tapatalk opera gmail

that's in 2g no data with location off background data disabled & reduced motion Siri off minimal brightness

Cheers

Hi, is yours a 6s or a 6s+?

It's crap, got only few hours out of full charge on 6s+ with all settings like background app ref. Off

I can't see your usage stats in that screen shot. Regardless, I can see from your app usage that you should be getting way more than 'a few hours' so try restoring iOS. Something is obviously wrong.
