By now there is enough discussion and information about quality of cell signal, brightness, wifi, gaming ect which can affect the battery life. This thread references each users situational battery usage. This post no doubt will get buried in time but for the sake of not starting a new battery life thread I would be interesting to see what the results for users who have a "maximum preservation" mentality. In other words how long can your battery last IF you try to make it last aside from standby.

This would include reducing brightness, turning on airplane mode when applicable, using low power mode from the start, but still using your phone for leisure and pleasure.

In a nut shell how far can your battery life stretch when stretched, and what is the top Usage App and Time in that App.

A few pages back(pg32) I posted my results which was 19:19usage 57:42standby and that was running the phone completely dead with about 11 hours of podcast streaming. I'd be curious to see if this is an expected result?, better or worse.
I might give that a try. I use the iPad Air 2 for a lot of Internet use. Maybe I try using just phone and see what usage I can get.

Which chip do you have ?

It's important to note that it keeps those timers counting until you charge the phone up to 100%. I looked at my phone this morning, when it was charging, at 90%, and it showed that I had something like 13 hours of usage and 104 hours of standby.

My 6s Plus is pretty bad on 9.1 now. I get about 30 hours standby and 7 usage. Used to get about 60 standby and more usage on 9.0. Nothing has changed in settings. A lot of background stuff is always off, so I don't get it. Kinda irritated.

Yes but then it says you have plugged in at some point, note at bottom of battery screen.

That is weird, I am on 9.1 as well and have 105 hrs and almost 11 usage. Didn't change anything from previous 9.

First charge, Samsung chip, phone restored from my old phone backup, 6s plus.

This includes about 1.5 hour of skype call over wifi, no camera call.

My usage time is the same as standby time....
Is there a way to know what is consuming my battery?

iPhone 6s Plus (Samsung)

9 Hours 32 Minutes - Mostly web browsing & camera use (snap chat/camera).
No low power mode used.

That's on the low side of normal.
Try as I might, I can't go significantly beyond the 10 hour mark now where previously I was getting 11.5-12.5 hours of usage. 9.0 and 9.0.1 were much better for me.
The battery life of 9.0.2 and 9.1 aren't a patch on the earlier incarnations of iOS9. That's out of the box with no backup and on phones that came running 9.0.2, so nothing to do with bad installs or compromised backups.

I noticed that my iPhone is losing charge slower today and the only difference was that I used the 5w charger instead of 12w iPad charger. Anyone else has the same experience?

Using the low watt charger packs the electrons closer together just like denser traffic on a less speedy highway. The 12 watt charger adds electrons so fast they bounce off each other and leave gaps.

Now if you believe any of the above BS you need a refresher course in physics and battery chemistry. The above statement has no basis in fact and is completely made of male bovine fecal material. In reality it makes absolutely no difference what charger wattage you use. 100% is 100%. It just takes longer to reverse the chemical reaction in the battery using the lower wattage. You need to use and recharge the phone for a week or two before any meaningful battery tests can be run. First or second charges will lead you to erroneous conclusions.

Is that a 6S? What apps are using mostly? Playing maybe 2 hours of games each day my usage ends up around 6 hours on my 6S. But if I take it easy (no games, no youtube) the usage goes up to about 10 hours. If it's a 6S Plus... well then that looks like a defective device.

Two hours of games would leave my 6S+ on the 7 hour mark.

I play mostly madden mobile at maybe 20% brightness, not sure how intensive the games you're playing are... but the plus also has 50% more pixels to render so I wouldn't expect usage to scale linearly with battery size.

I can scrape 10.5 hours of WiFi web browsing if I literally do nothing else. This is with 9.1, I find it much more draining than 9.0 and 9.0.1

9.0.2 wasn't that great either, but it's better than 9.1 if battery life is your priority.

I hate 9.1 so far, battery seemed to improve slightly but a jailbreak isn't looking promising in the near future. Can't downgrade either to jailbreak. I specifically went with the 6S over the S6 Edge because I was going to jailbreak. But on topic, I posted a screenshot earlier in the thread of my 6S getting 10 hours of usage with low power mode. Was testing the battery since it was my first day with the 6S. Haven't fully discharged the battery since so when I say 10 hours that's a prediction based off of my usage by the time I plug it in. I always use my phone in low power mode btw, since it doesn't slow the phone down at all and doesn't limit functionality I have no reason not to.

Its a 6s plus. I tried to play a game but it didnt take 2 hours. Maybe less than 10 mins?

From what I've seen on these forums and my own personal experience with my iPhone 6 I would say:

iPhone 6/6S

6-8 hours screen on heavy usage (not gaming!) I average about 7 or a little less most days. This is on wifi with brightness at 50% or usually less like 25-40%. This is bouncing between multiple apps but the majority is browsing in safari. Remember this is screen on time. If I was to listen to a podcast or music through headphones I could get some crazy numbers like 10 hours usage. So if you are out and about and your brightness is high and you are pounding away on your 6 or 6S over LTE don't be surprised if your phone dies at 5 or 6 hours usage! It's all about how you use your phone! Apple says 10 hours but that's in a very controlled environment with many things turned off. Real world usage you are looking at about 7 hours usage on average is what I see on my phone and even my wife's.

If you are gaming expect the battery to be slurped up in 2.5-4 hours! Seriously my phone gets hungry and hot with a graphic intensive game!

iPhone 6plus/6Splus

Looks like you guys easily get 2-3 more hours usage vs the 6/6S. :D I just can't bring myself to haul around a phone that big but I sure wouldn't mind that extra battery life!
